The tension in the cramped elevator was chocking the air, Kai and (Y/N) were fronting each other ready to defend their side if need be.
Cole swore under his breath because Nya was hiding behind him. Which was only making things tenser.
Zane was fearing for his innocent child-like little brother who had decided to stick himself to the roof of the elevator and was looking at everyone upside down.
Jay was just straight up ignoring Kai, Nya and Cole.
The elevator finally arrived at the floor they were greeted by Cyrus Borg.
"Ah! You finally made it!" Cyrus Borg said with a huge smile.
"Zane." Cyrus Borg said seemingly in awe. "Amazing! You're...powered! What's powering you?"
Zane made his way in front of Cyrus Borg's wheelchair and showed the man his heart.
Up in Borg Tower, the two team watched Cyrus Borg as he worked on his new invention.
The two team stayed inside Cyrus Borg's office discussing everything going on well... More so arguing with the opposing side about the Serpentine or backstabbing teammates as Cyrus Borg worked away with Zane as his assistant.
Sparks flew from Cyrus Borg tools as he made the last finishing touches on his new masterpiece.
Four chairs were in a line behind him, with speakers on the headrests and controllers on the arms of the chairs.
Zane stood by Cyrus Borg's side and gave a smile as Cyrus Borg plugged a cord into Zane's power source.
Cyrus Borg invention beeped and he picked up a big red button attached to a metal plate which long wires were spread out across the floor.
"I think I shall put the main switch over here, to keep it tucked away." Cyrus Borg said as he put the button down and then reversed backward to pick up the wires along with a screwdriver.
"With a little ingenuity and a few more cables, we may be able to reboot the system with the digital Techno-Blades and erase the Overlord virus for good."
"I thought you said we needed the stolen hard drive to do that?" Nya questioned.
"I did, but that was before I truly understood what Zane's power truly allows us to do."
"And what is that?" Jay asked as he watched Cyrus Borg work on the new invention with curiosity.
Cyrus Borg didn't look up. "A chance to enter remotely. By the time we find out where Lloyd is it will be too late to stop the Overlord from draining his Golden Power."
"And escaping the Digiverse?" Kai asked referring to Cyrus Borg's previous statement.
"Exactly." He nodded. "But if we digitize the ninja and Techno Blades using my experimental technology, you could fight him on his own turf inside the Digiverse."
"What do you mean inside the Digiverse?" Jay asked happily to which Cole huffed in annoyance.
"Weren't you listening?" He pointed at Cyrus Borg's invention. "He's going to put us inside the video game!"
"I know!" Jay exclaimed as he jumped up and down like a small child on Christmas. "I just wanted to hear it again!"
"Of course, every step into the unknown has its dangers." Cyrus Borg said cutting him off. "Dangers?" Kai gulped. "What are you talking about?"
"You know how in video games you get multiple lives?" Cyrus Borg pointed out.
"Yeah?" Jay said joyfully jumped into one of the newly invented chairs to which Cyrus let out a small sigh. "It's not like that."
"Oh..." Jay trailed off his excitement turning into disappointment. He jumped out of his chair in surprise when a flash of light came from the large screen behind him.
"Presto!" Cyrus Borg cried out proudly. "We're up and running."
Suddenly, a knock coming from the elevator made everyone turn their heads. It opened to reveal a mob of civilians dressed as if ready for a revolution being led by the mailman.
The mailman chuckled as he and the civilians scowled at poor innocent Cyrus Borg. "Aha, I knew Cyrus had power! He's been holding out on us!"
Cyrus Borg let out an exasperated sigh, wheeling over to Jay who now stood beside the invention. "This is no time for some random war game."
"This isn't a game!" The mailman shouted his followers cheering in agreement.
"We heard about the Nindroid activity. What if they come back? We need power to defend ourselves." The mob started to advance. "And I want to catch up on my shows!"
A pixelated line on the blue screen behind the four chairs moved as if it was a mouth. "Would you like to play a game?" (Y/N) pulled a face at the computer.
"They are playing a game!" The mailman shouted dramatically. "Take back the power!"
"No, stop!" Cole tried to hold the civilians back, but they were too desperate, so Kai joined in to help him. "We're trying to help you!"
The mob ignored them and swarmed Cyrus Borg invention using their makeshift weapons to try and destroy it.
Jay rushed forward to try and stop them, only to be thrown back into one of the four chairs.
Everyone stopped moving as a low humming sound filled the room, slowly getting louder. Suddenly, little orbs of light appeared and everything powered on. Looking around, everyone seemed as puzzled or on alert.
"Where's all the power coming from?" Nya asked worried. "I have a bad feeling about this." (Y/N) said scanning the room with her ferous gaze then bolted to the window.
"Golden power." Cyrus panicked turning his wheelchair around in a circle. "It's already begun. The Overlord has started the transference."
"Nindroid army heading this way." (Y/N) shouted as the civilians looked out the window at the rising Nindroid troops.
"We must isolate ourselves. If the Overlord finds out about our plan to use the Techno-Blades remotely, then the ninja won't stand a chance!"
Cyrus Borg looked at a screen showing millions of red dots swarming around the tower. "They're already here." He wheeled over to the control panel. "Initiate lockdown."
Metal panels immediately reacted to his command and extended from the base of the tower, blocking all doors and windows. He then turned his chair to face the Ninja.
"Be seated Ninjas."
the four sat in the chairs as (Y/N) went over to the mob who were silently watching everything.
"Do something useful. Make sure those Nindroids don't get up here." She took a step closer to the mailman. "If you ever want to see anything again, get down there now!"
The mailman nodded and let out a battle cry to which the mob rushed towards the elevator.
Cyrus wheeled behind the ninja and started bending the speakers on headrests until they were over the Ninja's ears.
"What do we do once we are inside?" Zane asked.
"To put simply, reboot the system. All source code travels to the heart of the mainframe. Follow it and you'll find a glowing activation port." He finished fixing the speakers on the headrests. "The Techno blades are the keys to the reboot and wiping the system clean of the corruption."
Nya began placing the Techno-Blades on the backs of our chairs as Kai tilted his head to the side. "Can you put it more simply?"
"Look for a big bright light, airhead, then put your weapon in it." Cole hissed.
"Got it. I can do that." Kai closed his eyes and leaned back against the headrest. His eyes snapped open and he turned around in his seat to face Cole with a menacing scowl. "Hey! I am not an airhead!"
"Remember I wrote the code but the Overlord controls it. His turf, his rules. I'll do my best to keep you hidden from here but the longer you go unnoticed the better chance you have to succeed." Cyrus told us as Nya placed the last Techno-Blade in the back of Zane's seat.
As Cyrus spoke, Nya opened up the digital screens which would monitor our heart rates, strength, breathing and speed while we were inside the Digiverse.
Echo stood in front of Zane. "Be careful in there Brother." Zane smiled and told him. "I will come back brother, don't worry."
Kai was nervous. "How do you know this is really going to work and disintegrate us instantly?"
Cyrus Borg wheeled over to the main switch his hand on his chin. "Hmm, I'm not sure. Let's see." And with that, he hit the button sending the ninja into the Digiverse.
"I hate technology!" Kai shouted waved his arms in panic as everything faded into white.
