i smile "hi tony"
i see some girls fan themselves dramatically causing me to laugh
he sees them and joins me
"you've got quite the fan base, you know"
he shrugs "i guess so"
"hey y/n" steve says, pulling me into a hug
i smile and hug him back "hey steve"
"let's go to class" he says, leading me away from stark
"bye y/n" tony calls
"bye tony" i shout back
i let steve lead me to chemistry class
"new seats" the teacher calls
we all groan
i use to sit next to steve, but now sadly, i don't get to
i frown at steve as he returns to look
i listen for my name as the teacher starts assigning seats
"bucky barns and y/n y/l/n" he calls
i do a little victory dance making steve and bucky laugh
the others look relieved
i honestly don't get why everyone is scared of bucky
i mean he has a metal arm and gets mad sometimes, but he's really just a big softie

i wiggle my eyebrows at steve as he blushes
"he has the biggest crush on her" i whisper to bucky
he laughs "i know. did you see him blushing"
we both laugh
"hey y/n" a deep voice says
i turn around and see james
i roll my eyes
he thinks he's so cool because he can shoot weeds out of the ground
"you are so close, i can smell your pretty perfume" he says
i groan and turn arond
he always hits on me, no matter how many times i turn him down
"come on, ditch the grandpa. after all, i actually have powers" james says
i whip around "you are way younger than him, yet you look like trash. he's decades older than you and he's still super attractive. plus, your superpower is making weeds grow"
"so you like metal arms then?" he asks
"no, i like personality and you don't have one"
he goes to talk again, but i cut him off "you don't have the looks. you don't have a personality. and your superpower isn't even impressive, due to the fact that weeds grow by themselves and no one ever wants them. so, what makes you think i would ever want to go out with you?"
his face burns red as he looks down
i smile proudly as i turn around in my seat
bucky bursts out laughing beside me
i look over and laugh with him
"that was amazing, doll" he says
i smile "thanks buck"
"now please start roasting everyone like that"
i giggle "okay"

i walk to lunch with bucky
we sit down at our normal table that consists of: tony, steve, nat, wanda, bruce, sam, and of course bucky and i
sam sits in front of me "hey pretty lady"
i roll my eyes
yet another one who won't take a hint and thinks he is so cool because he has robotic wings that let him fly like a little bird
"fuck off sam" bucky mutters, jaw clenched, gripping the table with both hands
i rest my hand on his bouncing leg and see him slowly release his grip
his jaw remains clenched as his eyes don't leave sam
sam reaches across the table for my other hand
i pull it away "i told you, sam, i don't like you and i don't want to go out with you"
"but why, doll?" he asks, sending a smirk to bucky
i feel bucky start to get up so i throw my arms around him
he relaxes and hugs me back
"don't call me that" i spit at sam
"but he can-" i cut him off
"but you can't"
he nods, slowly
maybe he might actually take the hint
"fine, i won't call you that but you owe me a date" sam insists
i groan as i take my arms away from bucky
"when?" i ask
everyone gasps as sam's eyes widen
"oh um-"
i cut him off "sorry, i can't i've got plans that day"
everyone laughs as sam's face turns red
bucky doesn't laugh or smile as he continues to eat his food with a hard expression on his face
i frown as i eat my food and walk away from the table
i go to the library where i know i can have some peace and quiet
i sit on the floor in the history section where no one ever is
i hear the bell ring, signaling for my next class
it's a study hall and i always come here anyways, so i don't get up
i pull out my book and start to read when i feel a presence next to me
i don't even glance up, knowing who it is
i lean my head on his shoulder as i continue to read
i feel him move slightly before becoming still again
after reading for a while, i close my book and look at what he's doing
he's reading a book about the war
i giggle causing him to look at me and smile
"you're the only one who reads them"
he laughs "i'm the only one here who was in it"
i nod and pick the book out of his lap, placing it back on the shelf
"but i wasn't finished" he whines
"you know that just brings back your ptsd"
he nods, sighing
i sit back in my spot and feel him rest his head on my shoulder
"why'd you leave?" he asks quietly
"why were you so mad?"
"i asked you first"
i sigh "i wanted some peace and quiet"
i feel him nod and wait for his answer
he picks his head up and looks at me
i stare into his icy blue eyes as i listen to every word
"i don't like when james flirts with you and i absolutely hate when sam flirts with you. i hate any guy flirting with you. and i hate the idea of you actually agreeing to go out with someone. it just made me mad when i thought you were actually considering going out with sam"
"but why can't i go out with a boy? why can't i find someone and be happy?"
"because as selfish as it sounds, i don't want you to be happy unless it's with me. i don't want you to date anyone unless it is me. i like you, y/n, so fucking much" he whispers, now looking at the floor
i smile, even though he doesn't see it "i'm selfish too"
he looks up at me confused
"i don't want you to be happy unless it's with me. i don't want you to date any girl unless that girl is me. i only want to be yours"
he smiles widely as his blue eyes grow big
before i realize what's happening, his lips are on mine and i'm kissing him back

i see our group walking across the parking lot to where bucky and i stood a few feet apart
"hey, are you okay?" nat asks
i smile and nod "all good"
"hey pretty lady" sam says walking over to me
i smile widely "hey sammy"
he looks at me, surprised
everyone does
"guess what?" i say to him enthusiastically
"you'll go out with me?"
i laugh and turn away from him, jumping into bucky's arms
his hands go under my thighs as my legs hug his waist
our lips connect immediately as everyone gasps
i smile into the kiss before pulling away
we both look at everyone, smiling
all their jaws are on the ground
"when did this happen?" steve asks, smirking at the two of us
"in the library" i answer simply
"near the history books?" steve asks, grossed out, already knowing the answer
i laugh as does bucky
i go to get down, but bucky continues to hold me in his arms
i look at him "why won't you put me down?"
he smiles widely "i just got you, why would i want to let go of you?"
i smirk "fine then, never let me go"
"i won't" he says, his lips ghosting over my lips
"fucking get a room" tony shouts
"oh, i plan on it" i shout back
making him fake puke
i laugh as bucky carries me to the car
"uh, how are we going to do this?" he asks
"you can put me down, just this once" i joke
he smiles "deal"
as soon as he gets in the driver's side, his hand is holding mine
i smile at how cute he is
and as soon as we get home, he motions for me to jump and i do. he holds me the same way he did in the parking lot at school
i laugh as he carries me inside
"you didn't have to be literal and actually refuse to let me walk"
he laughs and looks down at me "but doll, i really don't want to not have you in my arms"
"you're adorable" i whisper, leaning up to capture his lips in mine
