The piercing scream of a woman made Merida grab Hiccup's arm.

"What was that?" Merida asked. She looked over at Hiccup and realised that she was holding his arm. She let go, clearing her throat.

Hiccup went over to where the scream was heard, leaving the cart behind. Merida thought about taking the cart with her, but she doubted she'd be able to fit through the people gathering around the source of the scream. She left the cart and jogged towards Hiccup. It was easy to find him because he was tall and his scarf was green—which popped from the crowd.

People gathered around an open door that said "Cleaning Supplies". Merida had reached Hiccup easily because he was slowed down by the people blocking his path. Merida tried to look over, but she wasn't as tall Hiccup. He just stood there, staring like he was already deducing the reason why the poor woman had screamed.

"Let us through." He said calmly. "We're detectives."

When the people parted, Merida was able to see a woman wearing a tight uniform that every staff wore. She was crying and shaking as she stared at the dead woman's body on the floor of the opened room.

"Since when did I become a detective?" Merida whispered to Hiccup.

"Since you agreed to join me in my recent cases." Hiccup answered. He went over to the dead body and examined it.

"Should I check the room?" Merida asked, looking around at the room filled with cleaning supplies.

Hiccup nodded and she began. She had dreamed of becoming a detective. She didn't know it would happen after leaving her house and finding herself a flat just beside a "high-functioning sociopath".

The room wasn't big, but it was like the size of a kitchen. There were a bunch of mops on one corner, vacuums, pails and a bunch of cleaning chemicals. She looked over at Hiccup to see his progress. He was still looking, searching for the cause of death.

"There's nothing suspicious here." Merida said.

"Keep looking." Hiccup said. He took a vial and a cotton swab from his pocket. A question of how Hiccup had brought vials in his pocket popped in Merida's head. She stared at him as he opened the woman's mouth and used the cotton swab to take her saliva. He placed it inside the empty vial, closing it and putting it inside his pocket. He looked over at Merida and sighed.

He went over to her and and patted her on her back. He handed her the vial and said, "Examine it. We'll head over to the hospital after this. The police would be here any minute."

Merida took the vial and placed it inside her pocket. She watched as Hiccup take stuff and put it back to its place after he stare at it for a while.

He then went over to a corner and and picked up something. He held it between his thumb and forefinger, examining it. He showed it to Merida.

"What do you think?" He asked. It was a small glass bottle where you store small amount of medicine to take with you.

"It's a glass bottle." Merida answered.

"She's taking medication." Hiccup said.

The police arrived. Officer McGuffin went over to Hiccup as one of his officer put on the police tape.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Cracking the case." Hiccup answered casually.

"How did you get here?" He asked. "You're not allowed in here, Haddock."

Hiccup rolled his eyes. "You'll reach over to me eventually, Officer McGuffin. I just happen to get here first because Merida and I were shopping. And now that I've taken what I needed, I'll be off. I will just inform you what I've deduced, good bye."

He placed his arm around Merida's shoulder and led her outside. They went over to where Merida had left her cart. He removed his arm off of Merida's shoulder and took the cart to the cashier where he paid for it.

They went outside the supermarket with a bunch of bags in their hands. Hiccup decided to call a cab and they went inside. He told the cab their address and he drove silently.

"What do you think happened?" Merida asked.

"She must be poisoned. There was no blood nor wound on the woman's body. I took her saliva so we could check out if she was indeed poisoned." Hiccup said.

Merida remembered the glass bottle. "Do you really think she takes medicine?"

Hiccup nodded. "I think so."

"'I think so?'" Merida asked. "You never say 'I think so'."

After that, silence filled the cab. Hiccup silently sat, his intertwined fingers resting under his chin. A thought of holding his hand suddenly flashed on Merida's head. She quickly shoved it on the back of her head. She just met the guy.

"And yet here you are in a cab with him after you had bought groceries." Merida taught.

"Why is it that wherever you go there's murder?" Merida asked him.

"That's just how it is, Merida." Hiccup said.

"That's not how it is." Merida said. "You walk outside and then you'll suddenly come across a murder."

Hiccup turned his head to look at Merida. "That's clearly not my fault." He said.

"Whatever." Merida said. She decided to just wait for the cab to stop, place her groceries inside her flat and soak herself in a nice, warm, undisturbed bath.

"We'll go to the hospital after we put the groceries on your flat." He said as if he had read her mind and decided to crush her dream of having a relaxing time with herself.

"Can't I sleep?" Merida asked.

"No." Hiccup answered.

Merida groaned. She sat on the cab, her arms crossed. For some reason, she also wanted to join him on his games instead of soaking herself in the tub.

When the cab stopped in front of 112B Berker Street, Merida opened the door before taking the bags. She carried it to the door of her flat. She took her keys and was about to insert it in the keyhole when she noticed something.

"Hey, Hiccup?" Merida said. "I think someone tried to get in."

Hiccup placed the bags down. He looked at the door knob. There were marks that looks like someone had picked the door.

"They really should know how to open windows." Hiccup said before taking a gun from his back. Merida gulped.

"What do you need that for?" Merida asked.

"In case of emergency." Hiccup answered, winking before handing Merida her own gun. "Use this. You might need it."

Hiccup took the keys from Merida, inserting it inside the keyhole and turned it. The door clicked open. Hiccup slowly opened the door, the gun loaded in front of him.

Merida pulled the barrel of hers and went inside with Hiccup. She went over to the light switched and clicked it. She gasped at the mess. The lamp was thrown to the floor, Hiccup's newspaper scattered, the table was flipped—it was a huge mess. Merida went slowly to her room, opening the door. Her heart was beating so fast, afraid that someone might jump out and kill her. But when her door was opened, no one was there. But her clothes were thrown everywhere, her bed looked like someone had kicked it, the bedside table was flipped, and the lamp was broken.

She went back outside to see Hiccup staring at the window that he usually get in to. Merida looked at it. She let out a loud gasp.

Four words were written in blood. It was clearly blood and it was still dripping. Which means the killer was recently in the flat.

Hiccup went over to the words and took a sample of blood, placing it inside his vial.

He stared at it again. He was probably thinking what to do next.

"The game is on." Hiccup whispered to himself, repeating the words on the window.
