Ethan's POV
"Take a step back." The paramedics quickly came into the warehouse and pushed all of us out of the way.
"It hurts." Jordyn whispered.
"It's okay sweetie." One of the male paramedics reassured her. "Just focus on controlling your breathing, all right?"
I was raging with anger, but my body was shaking in fear for Jordyn. I turned to face Josie and she was smirking at me.
"THIS IS ALL YOUR FUCKING FAULT!" I yelled and nearly put a hand on her before Grayson held me back.
"Me?" She acted shocked as her hands were cuffed behind her back and two officers held her.
"What's your problem anyway?! You know I don't want you and you know you couldn't do anything about it!"
"Oh trust me, I did something about it. Do you see her bleeding out on the ground?"
"Fuck you!" My face tensed up and I walked back. I wanted to slap her so much.
The paramedics had placed Jordyn on a gurney and were pumping oxygen into her body.
"W-where are you taking her?" I panicked as they were quickly moving her to the ambulance.
"She's quickly losing blood, we need to get her to the hospital immediately."
"Ethan, we need you for questioning." Grayson quickly came over to me.
"No I need to go with Jordyn." They were already putting her in the ambulance.
"Ethan." He darted his eyes towards me. "There's nothing you can do. They'll take care of her, but right now we have to talk to the police to get rid of Josie."
I made my way over to the police and tried to get over this quickly. The ambulance drove off fast.
-one hour later-
"Where's Jordyn Mills?" I quickly ran up to the ER counter. "She just came in an hour ago."
"I'm sorry sir, it seems to be that she's in surgery." My eyes widened.
"SURGERY!?" I yelled.
"I'm sorry, that's all I know right now."
I turned around and walked towards the seating area. Everyone sat in seats around me while I tapped my foot on my ground. I couldn't keep my mind from the possibilities of Jordyn's life ending.
I picked up my phone and called my mom.
"Hey sweetie, where are you?" I stood up and walked around when she answered.
"The hospital. Jordyn's here." I tried not to crack my voice.
"Honey, are you okay? Your father and I are on our way."
"I don't know, please just get here. I really need you." I hung up the phone and sat down in my exact spot. I tapped my foot on the ground again to try and distract myself slightly.
"Ethan, Riley and I are going to head down to grab some food. You want anything?" Grayson asked me. I shook my head then they slowly made their way to the elevator.
Matt moved chairs and sat next to me.
"She's going to be alright, E."
"How do you know?" I rested my elbows on my knees.
"We found her out of thousands of homes."
"No we didn't." I sat up and looked at him straight in the face. "We didn't do shit. My mom did it because she saw me depressed for days. Plus, I know where she is. She's here. Dying, and I can't do a single thing about it."
"She's not dying, and you know that."
"No Matt! Did you not see her get shot? She couldn't breathe. The paramedics literally said she was losing a lot of blood. For all I know, she could be gone by now." I stood up and paced around the room.
I actually thought I was going insane.
"I mean," I laughed in the middle of my sentence. "why do you even care? You never liked her in the first place."
"What are you talking about?" He stood up as well.
"You wanted to break us up, right? You never liked her. You wanted to get rid of her. So why are you caring so much?"
"Because you're hurting. You're my best friend, I cant just let you do this to yourself."
"But this isn't about me, this is about Jordyn."
"The world doesn't revolve around her. You're important to me too."
"She does in my world. If you cant accept that, then I don't want you here." We both sighed.
"I'm sorry, I love both of you guys and you're going through a lot, so I'll back off." He sat back down. I ran my fingers through my hair.
"I'm sorry, I'm overwhelmed."
"Ethan." I turned to see my parents walking towards me.
"I don't know what's happening." I hugged my mom while they both rubbed my back.
"Take a few deep breaths, alright?" We moved over to the chairs and they both tried to calm me down.
-another hour later-
Grayson and Riley came back half an hour ago with some food. Grayson gave me a sandwich even though I said I wasn't hungry. Everyone wasn't talking, mainly because it was almost 2am.
"Are you all here for Jordyn Mills?" A doctor came out with a clipboard. We all quickly stood up and walked over to him. "Jordyn was shot in the Abdominal Aorta and she was bleeding out, fast. Usually people can die in a matter of minutes but we managed to keep her conscious, but we were not able to fully stop the bleeding. Fortunately in this case, she's slightly stable, but won't be for long."
"W-what are you saying?" Tears weld up in my eyes.
"I'm sorry, but she only has about another hour of so before she will pass."
"An hour?" My voice was extremely shaky. "Is there anyway you can fully stop the bleeding?"
"I'm sorry sir, but as of right now and with our technology and knowledge, we cannot save her from this unfortunate event."
"Oh my god." I turned to hug Matt while I tried not to cry.
"I can take you guys in to see her." I turned back around to face the doctor and he walked us into the room with Jordyn. Her eyes were parted slightly and she had an oxygen mask on over her mouth and nose.
"Oh my god." I whispered and quickly made my way over to the side of the bed.
"Hey." She smiled like nothing was wrong. Because the mask was over her mouth every time she spoke it was really muffled.
"I'm so sorry. This is all my fault." I grabbed her hand with both of mine.
"No, no, no, this isn't your fault. I'm fine, I feel perfect."
"Babe, you're all wired up and you need help breathing, you're not okay."
"Don't worry about that, okay? I want to spend time with you right now."
I really didn't know what to do. It was killing me to know that I only had minutes with her before she was going to pass and there's nothing I can do to stop it.
Everyone else in the room came over to quickly say their hello/goodbyes which took over half an hour and then they left the room. They all knew I wanted to spend time alone with Jordyn.
"You know what the worst part about this is?" She smiled and continued after I shook my head. "I can't have sex with you anymore." I laughed and shook my head.
"I don't want you to go." I held her hand.
"I know, I don't want to go either." She mumbled in her oxygen mask.
"This shouldn't be you." I stood up. "We were suppose to live until we were 90 years old. I was suppose to propose to you. We were suppose to have kids. We were suppose to be grandparents. We were suppose to live our best lives together. You cant just leave, that's not how it's suppose to go."
"Look," She took off her mask and I quickly sat back down.
"You can't take this off Jordyn." I tried to put it back on.
"I'm going to die either way." She looked into my eyes and I let her do what she needed to do. "I've had the worst childhood and I never had good parents until I came into your family. You all loved and cared for me so much. And I had the most memorable two years with you all, I'll always remember that. From our first kiss in your room to sneaking around the house just so we could be stupid teenagers together. From your mom catching us kissing to me being placed in a group home. From my birthday surprise to us making out at Matt's cabin on the beach. I had an amazing couple years with you Ethan, but I was never meant to have a perfect nor great life. I'm a foster child and I'll always be a foster child. We don't get happy endings, they don't exist for us. But you do, you're going to have a great life and you're going to find another perfect girl who's going to love you like I do. This isn't the end for you, but it is the end for me." She tried to keep her eyes open and her voice slowly started to stretch out more.
"No, you're suppose to be with me. You're not suppose to die. You're everything to me, please don't go." I held onto her hand.
"Kiss me one last time Ethan."
I stood up off the little stool and pressed my lips onto hers. It felt like the first time we ever kissed, special.
"I love you." I released our lips and stared into her eyes.
"I love you too and I'm sorry." Her eyes closed and the heart monitor went flat.
"NO!" I yelled and tried to get her to breathe again, but there was nothing I could do. I heard everyone else come in the room and they just stood on the other side of the room. "Please." I sat down on the stool, held her hand and cried into it.
"Don't die on me." Something came over me and I tried to push down on her chest to make her heart start working again. "Please don't leave me." I cried into her hand.
"Ethan." I heard Matt's voice and I quickly stood up and gave him a hug.
"She can't be gone."
"I know, I don't want her to be gone either. I'm sorry."
She really can't be gone like that, she had so much potential.
"Is this how it's suppose to be?" I looked to everyone as my face was covered in tears. "Is she really just suppose to go?"
"Ethan--" My mom tried to speak. They all shed a tear as they saw me lose it.
"Is this some kind of romantic movie where there's a medical miracle and she comes back? Please tell me she's not gone forever." I ran my fingers through my hair.
All that was left was the sound of sniffling and Jordyn's heart monitor going flat.
It's over. Everything we had was over.
This isn't how it was suppose to be.
We were suppose to live in a fairy tale, a romantic movie, we were suppose to have a happy ending.
But I guess,
happy endings don't exist.

a/n: YES IM FINISHED. And I know y'all probably hate this ending, but I wanted it to be different from some of the other books IVE read with the guys in it. I really hope you guys somewhat enjoyed these two books because I had some fun coming up with the chapters on the go.
