"Hey Colby. Can I ask you a question?" Sam asks as he walks into my room. I look over at him and sit up while nodding my head.
"Uh, yeah, sure. What's up?" I ask as he sits down next to me. He looks over at me and sighs.
"Have you ever, I don't know, dated someone?" He asks quietly. He looks over at me shyly.
"No. I haven't. Why do you ask?"
"I've been wondering since we played truth or dare the other day. I just, you never talk about anyone so I was wondering." He says looking at me.
"Well, I mean, no I've never dated anyone. I've had crushes and such but ever since eighth grade I've kinda just made it clear that I wanted to be alone. I didn't want to be with someone while things were happening." I tell him honestly. He looks over at me and gives me a sad look.
"I'm sorry. About Lenx. He seemed like a good brother." Sam said. I smile and nod my head.
"Yeah. He was. You know sometimes, sometimes, I feel like it was my fault." I say looking at him, "I was the one who wanted to drive in the first place."
"Don't think like that." Sam says scooting closer to me. He puts his hand on my thigh and I look down quickly before looking back at him.
"It wasn't your fault. Don't be hard on yourself. You shouldn't think like that." Sam says. I smile at him and nod my head. I feel my eyes start to tear up since we are on the topic on Lenx death.
"I'm sorry." I say quietly. I feel his hand on my cheek as he wipes my tears away.
"Don't be. Don't be scared to cry. It's okay. Just know, that his death, it wasn't your fault. You shouldn't be hard on your self." He says. I look up at him and see his eyes are dark, sad even.
"Thank you." I whisper. He smiles and nods his head.
"You're welcome." He whispers. I put my hand over his and stare at him. He stares at me before I see he's slowly moving in.
"I - I've never kissed anyone before." I whisper.
"We don't have to if you don't want to." He says moving his hand from my cheek.
"It's just -- we barley know each other. It's been only about a month. I don't even know how I feel and ----."
"Colby. I get it. It's okay. Stop beating yourself up." He says smiling at me, "okay?"
"Okay." I say nodding my head with a smile on my face.
