"good morning" I almost took a step back when I saw Ryuuji standing in front of our door. I just barely escape from his claws yesterday and now he's here this early?
"what are you doing here? wait.....why are you here?" so early in the morning, why did he suddenly came?
"Catherine, your mother and I had a busin—what are you doing here?" father about to go outside stopped beside me when he saw Ryuuji standing in front "you!" in the blink of an eye father immediately went in front of me and confronted Ryuuji
"good morning uncle"
"what's good in the morning?" father asked with voice full of displeasure
"seeing Catherine in the morning is what makes it good" I immediately averted my gaze as I feel my face heating up, this guy had the habit of making me fluster. However his answer seems to incense father more
"you.....!!!!" I winced
"Ryuuji? My what a surprise" mother, who just came down from the stairs immediately came to greet Ryuuji, completely ignoring father, who is trembling from anger "did you came to take Catherine with you to school?" ara....really in this household mother is at the top of the food chain.
"good morning auntie, yes intend to do that." when Ryuuji look in my direction I immediately hide behind father "Cat"
"no need for you to take my daughter I can drop her off". I nodded in agreement behind father
"Jirou" mother immediately took father's hand and drag him with her. "we still have a flight to catch on so we better go, let Ryuuji take Catherine"
"take?!" father stop on his tracks "you. if you think you could take my daughter away then you—" father did not get to finish his words because mother immediately push him inside the car.
"we're going to be late. see you two. Take care both of you" with mother's hand covering father's lips mother waved good bye as the car moved away as I stood there absently waving goodbye.
"why did you suddenly came up with this?" I asked him just as the car stopped in front of the academy's gate, luckily there aren't many student's yet. I keep quiet throughout the whole ride but somehow no matter how I think about it I can't figure out why would he suddenly come and fetch me.
"to clear up some misunderstandings" I tilted my head to the left as I ponder over his words.
"misunderstanding?" I said softly as I think over it.
"cat" I turn to where Ryuuji is but he's nowhere to be found, when I look to my left I saw him outside waiting for me while his hand is on the open car door.
"thank you" I said after I get down
"let's go" I look at his hand when he held it up then at his face
"what are you doing?"
"mmm"
"hey!" he suddenly hold my hand and pull me and for the first time I saw his eyes flashing in mischief. Whoa, the king is possessed!!
"hey! Hey! It's the king!!!"
"ah! He's together with the queen!!!! my god this is the first time I've seen them together again"
"ah!!! The royal couple is back again"
"my god I'm glad I decided to went early today!!!"
"what's this????" I ask Kana as I read through the comments, on top of it we're the picture of Ryuuji and me together this morning, aside from that, even the picture of the kiss during the school festival is even posted in.
"I did not know our academy had this forum" Rin chipped in as she look on our photo "this one would be good if exploited" we ignored her when her tone started getting dangerous.
"imagine my surprise when I logged in this morning. You did not even tell us that you came to school together with the king"
"that's not important right now, what's important is what was posted here, and what's with the queen? and royal couple?" I even pointed at the post
"right you had no idea. Back in our middle school days especially when the two of you were in the student council the whole middle school section had dub you two as the royal couple. The president is the king of the female students while the vice-president is the queen of the male students" I stare at Kana in disbelief. I never knew the students of this academy were this bored to have created such names!
"Catherine!" I look to my back and saw an excited Meirin bouncing towards our direction
"Meirin"
"hehe. I saw the scene this morning"
"huh?"
"aiya, the king is so gentleman, opening the door for her lady and even holding her hands" my eyes widen up as I immediately cover her mouth.
"tsk, what's the use of covering her mouth when it's already posted in the forum" I grudgingly let go of Meirin.
"I'm pretty sure the whole scene this morning had clear up all the fogs" I look at her in confusion
"Catherine!"
"miss Catherine!"
"I'm so happy to see you two together with the king!"
"it's good that the king is back on your side miss Catherine" I had the urge to run away when my female classmates start crowding in.
"i still had things I had to do, haha" I swiftly head towards the door. Just as I was about to exit, a wall, no someone suddenly block off my exit, because I was rushing over I had no time to stop making me just crash head on. Preparing for a literal body slam I close my eyes and wait for the inevitable but surprisingly it never came.
"careful, cat" when I open my eyes I saw two pair of arms holding me, looking up, I saw Ryuuji looking at me.
"aaaaahhhhh!!!"
"PDA attack!!!!"
"oh my god!!!!!"
"hmm" I answered absentmindedly
"why are rushing out?"
"that..." I look behind me and saw our female classmates then I look back at Ryuuji, unsure of what to tell him.
"next time, don't just rush in, you need to look at what's in front of you. it'll be bad if something happened" I nodded in answer "remember to always be careful" when he patted my head I just dazedly look at him.
"kyaaaaah!!!!!!" I woke up from my classmates noise
"ah....that....ummm....." I shut my mouth and just walked past Ryuuji as if nothing happened when inside I just want to slap myself. Idiot! Getting flustered and forgetting myself like that! I'm the villain! I'm the villain! I'm the villain!!!!
"cat!" I stopped and look back, I noticed that Ryuuji remain standing in the same place "come back here" am I not even allowed to run away? I grudgingly return back "stop running away, just ignore them" I look at him in surprise how did he know? "you're actions were very obvious" heck, can he read my mind? "I can't read your mind cat, you're just very expressive right now" my eyes widen in surprise as I fight the urge to hide my face. this natural king is really more potent than the sexy pervert king!!!!
"Ryuuji, Miss Catherine, good morning" I look to my side and saw Monique standing there with a smile on her face looking like an angel
"good morning" I greeted back as I move to the side to make way for her. Just as I moved to my left, Ryuuji take a hold of my hand and pull me to where he is.
"don't block the way cat" I gave him an incredulous look who's blocking the way? "right, it seems that we're blocking it" hmph! It's good that you understand "then let's return to our seat" before I could react he had already pulled me over as he head to our seat, leaving Monique standing there while looking at Ryuuji with disappointment in her eyes. I know it's bad but for some reason, I feel quite happy that Ryuuji had ignored her. ah, it must be the villainess inside of me rejoicing.
"I must give some credit to your king" I look at Kana just as she sat after taking her meal
"why?"
"you might not know since you really pay attention to academy gossip"
"and you put too much attention to them"
"shut up Rin, just concentrate on your yaoi" Kana ignored Rin who happily complied just as I shake my head from their action. Sometimes I wonder how did we end up being friends.
"anyway, back to the topic"
"you won't really let it off?"
"of course not! it's a big matter since it involves you. well as you know." I sighed and just let Kana talk "The king had ignored you the past few weeks and many had noticed his frequent interaction with the heroine"
"oh? Then?"
"many had speculated that the king had overthrown her queen and choose a commoner" I look at Kana in disbelief
"seriously. Are the students that bored that they resorted to such gossips" now I understood what Ryuuji meant earlier. so he meant clearing up those gossips. I lean on my hand and just as I look towards the door I saw Ryuuji and Aoi coming in.
"oh my good the king and knight is here!!!"
"quick! Pass me a mirror"
"my phone, my phone? Where's my phone"
"aiya, is my make up okay??"
I roll my eyes upwards with this cliché set up.
"ahhhh!!!! President Jansen"
"oh my god! it's the jack!!!!" I almost slipped when I heard the crowd
"jack?" I look at Kana since she's the one who spread the nickname of Ryuuji and Aoi
"aren't I ingenious? The king is Ryuuji, the knight is Aoi, the jack is Jansen and the Ace is Zero"
"Zero?" I asked in surprise
"isn't he the Ace who bounded you with the king?"
"bounded?"
"what? Zero was this invincible barrier between the two you. when the three of you are together Zero wouldn't even let anyone near him to interrupt you two, he's the red string the connected the king and queen back then" I want to bury myself. Seriously what's with the people around me?
"finished with your lunch?"
"halo, Catherine" I smiled at Aoi while ignoring Ryuuji yet it doesn't seem to have any effect as he just took a seat beside me.
"it's rare that the two of you were late for lunch, did you stop by somewhere?"
"mnm....i help Ryuuji with his duties in the disciplinary committee"
"Disciplinary committee?" I look at Ryuuji in inquiry
"what? Didn't he tell you yet Catherine that he had took over the chairmanship" Aoi put his spoon down "I've been helping with some paper works, according to him I had to compensate him because of those favor I had asked for him"
"compensate? What kind of compensation?" Rin suddenly asked out of the blue which startled Aoi
"Rin" I said her name in a warning
"hmph!" she then pick her spoon and started bingeing her food.
"somehow, the moniker of ice princess doesn't suit Rin when she's not seen behind the big screen" Aoi commented as he continued to watch Rin.
"she's the complete opposite of the idiom, what you see is what you get. Anyway Aoi, I'm done with the thing you're asking me, I'll give it to you tomorrow"
"okay thanks"
"things?" I can't follow the conversation!!!!
"he asked me to make a perfume as a gift for Monique, it took me a while but I finally finished it"
"perfume eh" I look at Kana with accusing eyes, so she had such knowledge yet she did not even bother to tell me about it.
"yep, remember the time you saw the two of us back then, he was asking me a favor then. But really, knight, you had such a great disposition yet you fall for someone like the heroine"
"can you stop picking on me. are you really my friend? You can't even be happy for me"
"tsh, tell that to me when you managed to take her eyes of from the king" I lean back when an awkward air suddenly enveloped our group.
