(Y/N) P.O.V
I ended up at the hill I was at on the first day here, I think it's called Half Blood Hill....
A few minutes pass by of blissful peace and quiet.....
"Hey (Y/N)!!!" a familiar voice said.
I grunted in annoyance.
"What is it that you want Leo?" I asked while turning around.
He runs up towards me and pins me against a pine tree.
If you catch my drift and know THE EXACT PINE TREE... it's still there in this AU.
His grip is surprisingly strong.
"Gah!" I yelped. I struggle to get out of his grasp.
"Let go of me you snot nosing idiotic BrAt!"
He doesn't say anything. I felt his gaze staring deep into my soul. I stopped trying- and looked straight in his eyes. Brown eyes...... they felt......broken..........
The feeling of my eyes softening was surprising, I've never felt something like this before.
We just stood their in silence.....not once did we blink. He then started to loosely let go of my shoulders. He didn't take his gaze off of me.
"What happened to you?" He softly asked.
I widened my eyes in shock. That didn't last long. I grinned my teeth and pushed him off of me and started walking away. I clenched my hands into fists as I heard footsteps running towards me. "What are you running away from?" He shouted.
"Why are you always like this?"
"It's none of your concern."
"What happened that made you seem so bitter and angry......"
"Oh my gods ANSWER ME!!"
All of a sudden- I felt heat behind me. I stopped and turned around to see Chuckles in flames. I raise an eyebrow. "Wow...." I said. It was one of the most wondrous sights I've ever seen. It looked so....gentle and loving.......
He looked over at me and smirked.
Shit cover it up.
"You have no self control do you?" I said in annoyance. "Speak for yourself Princess" his flames slowly deteriorated as his face grown serious. "Can you talk with me now?" he said as he slowly walked up to me. I didn't know what to say- that this.....guy.....a guy that I haven't known for a long time......made me feel.
He smiled at me. "By gods you look so adorable...." I raised my eyebrows. "What?"
"What?" He startled. "What?" He looked down with a tint of red spreading across his face.
"N-nothing." He said. "Let's just go sit down over there." He pointed at the nearby big ass tree. I shrugged and walked towards the tree. Without hesitation, I started climbing up the tree to the nearest big branch I can sit on. When I did i looked down to see Leo dumbfounded. I rolled my eyes.
"Leave if you want" I said in a monotone voice.
He scoffed. "You're not getting rid of me that easily Princess." That's when he started to climb too. He surprisingly didn't struggle. I was looking at him too long until I noticed.....
"Stop looking at my ass Valdez" I said annoyingly. I felt some heat spread across my face. He looked startled that made him loose his grip and fell. "Awwwghh!!! Dammit!!" He shouted in pain. I rolled my eyes and reached to the branch. Not a moment later Leo sits down next to me, laying against the tree bark.
"What happened to you?" he asked. I said nothing and looked out at the scenery. "Nothing happened to me" I said.
"Obviously something did."
"Why should I care about what you say? You're not me" I said in annoyance.
He sighed. He tapped on my shoulder. "Can you at least make eye contact Princess?" I rolled my eyes and looked over to him. "Happy?" I asked.
Leo didn't say anything. "Why are you always staring at me- just fucking say it so-"
"I lived in Houston, Texas before I got here." He said, cutting me off. I held my breath. Oh boy.... now what?.
I crossed my arms as if I was saying 'I'm listening.' "And I, alone, is the only reason why I'm here at Camp Half Blood, I didn't plan to be a part of this camp." He then rambles on about his life before coming here, like how he met Jason and Piper, how he met Percy, and how the "7 of the prophecy" defeated Gaea, some Titan who was out for revenge, etc. etc. "So that's me" he sighs in relief.
"And you told me all of this because....." I asked in a confused tone. "Because I'd like to know you more....the good..." he suddenly had his hand on top of mine "and the bad...." he smiled. I looked at his hand and back at him- then back at the hand again. I sighed.
"Well...I don't remember really good memories."
Flashes of pain kept replaying in my mind. "What do you mean?" he asked. I looked up at him to see his face very worried. "Let's just say.... my childhood wasn't the best" I said in a monotone voice. He looked at me as if he understood. "Me too....."
"How?" I asked.
"Well...." He sighed as he hugged his knees together with one arm. Our hands still in place. "I was eight... and I didn't know how to control it." He started off.
"I don't remember much- but what I know was that there was fire everywhere- surrounding the house..... and my mother.....died in that moment." He paused. "And it was my fault...."
He looked down in sorrow.
I only looked at him in pain. I sighed and layed fully against the tree bark. "At least you had someone to love you......." I finally said. He perked up quickly.
Shit. I clenched my teeth and looked down.
"Fuck" I murmured. "What do you mean by that (Y/N)?" he asked softly. I looked down at my legs. I bended my knees close to my stomach. I moved my hand away from Leos.I then carefully started to roll up my jeans up to my knee.
Slowly....Leos face became from understanding to horror.
My leg had multiple scars and gashes from knee to foot. From small to big. From fading to never fading again. Some scars ran very deep that left the same pale color years ago. And one was already bleeding. Leo looked at me with fear in his eyes. I looked back nonetheless. "How-"
"My mother" I said, cutting him off.
He clenched his teeth in anger and bawled up his fists. Rage was in his eyes. "What kind of a sick, twisted......."
"You said you wanted to know me" I said.
He calmed down as his flames melted away. He nodded anyways.
"Well....this is one piece of me" I softly said. I rolled down my jeans to my foot.
"I was happy at first....." I softly said.
"We where all happy.." I made a small smile.
"I remember when we used to have annual trips to the forest and beaches-" I looked up at the sky
"-just for the hell of it."
"My mother was happy. She had everything she wanted. A nice home, nice neighborhood, a glorious view, a child and most of all....." I looked down. "Her boyfriend."
Leo was so silent. That scared me. I looked over to him as he stares at me with sorrow in his eyes. "Go on...." he says. "My dad- well.... I don't remember much. I remember him as layed back and loved my mother dearly. And she too loves him- but never in the way he did." I took a deep breath.
"She was psychotic for him- went crazy over him being a second late coming home, so focused on him to give her the attention and love she so called 'deserves'." I scoffed and looked away. "She didn't seem to bother with me anymore."
"Until he left" I said.
"Leaving me...."
"All alone....."
"With that bitch not giving a shit about me...." I said in anger. I held my fist tightly, when a hand layed on top of it. I looked to see Leo holding my hand now- by saying 'calm down'. It took a few breaths but I calmed down.
"From then on there- I was nothing."
Flashbacks were coming back to me.
"Saying that.....I was
"Worthless"
"Weak...."
"A mistake..."
"Your fault."
"Disgrace"
"Miserable"
"Pathetic"
"Your FAULT"
"A worthless pile of SHIT"
"'I should KILL YOU WHERE YOU STAND!!!!"
I held my breath. "She thought beating mercilessly would bring him back or to just take all her anger out on me....by choking.......
-Flashback begins-
"Mommy.....I can't breathe...."
"Wiping....."
"YOU DISGUSTING PILE OF SHIT!!!" A belt makes a gash on your 5-year old shoulder. "OW MOMMY STOP IT HURTS!!!"
"Pushing me around...."
"Youre not DOING THIS RIGHT!" Mother shoves you against the bedroom wall. "REDO THEM AGAIN!" she throws at you a pile of clothes and slams the door.
"Even starving me...."
Your mother pushes you down the stairs. You fall face flat on the cold concrete floor- already bleeding from today's afternoon beatings. "Stupid girl...... enjoy another week of staying in your room......you're not coming out until I decide to feed you." Again, she slams and locks the door. You crawl away with all the strength you have left to the only blanket there. Rats and roaches scurry away at the sight of you. But you didn't matter. You wrap your body with the old raggedy blanket and cried yourself to sleep.
-Flashbacks end-
"I always kept thinking 'maybe....maybe daddy will help mother......maybe he'll come.....maybe this will be all over soon.....'"
I looked down at the ground. "I waited for 7 years."
