The next morning I was actually excited to be going to school, knowing I would see Eric. That normally made me want to go jump off a cliff, but today it made me want to race to school, knowing we were back together. I knew I couldn’t do anything with him at school or anything but just knowing we were back together made it worth going to school. When I woke up, I checked my phone only to find a text from Eric, Good morning beautiful! Hope you slept well. I know I did! ;) I didn’t respond but I definitely couldn’t stop smiling.
My mom dropped me off at school on her way to work, just as she did every morning. Luckily she wasn’t a morning person so she didn’t really notice my unusually good mood, so I didn’t have to explain anything to her. I had texted Chrissy to meet me a little earlier at our lockers so we could talk a little more privately than we would in homeroom. I walked straight to our lockers, and saw Chrissy waiting for me.
“Girl, what is up with the urgent, get here asap text?!?!” Chrissy said when she saw I was here. “And what is with that smile?” She was referring to the smile I hadn’t been able to wipe off my face after the texting conversation I had had with Eric.
“Eric!”
“What? Eric as in Eric… Winter.” She said his last name barely above a whisper so only I would here. I nodded my head, biting my lip. Man just thinking about him got my heart going crazy, wishing I could see him now. “Okay.” She said, “What is up with Eric, I thought you were still mad at him, or whatever, after the break up. Last night you were still hung up on him, and today you are smiling like a crazy fool. What happen from then until now?”
“Well, he texted me last night.” I said, the smiling growing remembering his words to me about me being the only thing that matter to him and what not.
“And? And?”
“Here,” I said and I pulled out my phone and showed her the text conversation. “I can’t believe it! You can’t tell anyone! Swear to me!”
“OMG, this is wow! I pinky promise I wont! I wouldn’t do that to you! Eric makes you so happy, I would never mess that up for you!” She gave me a huge hug, to prove her word were sincere, even though I already knew they were.
The bell rang and we ran off to homeroom smiling and giggling about Eric and I. we got several crazy looks from people as we past by, but I didn’t care. All that mattered was Eric and I were back together.
The day went by pretty quickly, which was perfect with me because I couldn’t wait to see Eric for the first time since we got back together. I was tempted to wit outside his door to talk to him for a second in the hall before going in, but figured I would probably just draw more attention to us. Plus I wouldn’t be able to keep the smile off my face, and that would get people to start asking question, and I didn’t want that. So I walked into class, like a good little girl, and tried to contain my smile that was trying to consume my whole face.
Ok Kate get it together now you can do this, just sit in class like normal. Don’t draw attention to yourself or anything. Hey maybe even ignore him a little. But you don’t want him to get the wrong impression either. Wait no he will understand he is probably planning on doing the same to you. Ok just ignore him, you can do this. He is just a guy, granted a really hot guy that you are now dating again, but hey he is just a guy. A guy that you’ve seen naked plenty of times and is now teaching you.
Just then Mr. Winter himself walked in and I couldn’t help the blush that spread across my face.
Damn it! I didn’t think of any of this sh*t before, why is it just now making its way into my head. God, what if someone noticed my blush and is getting suspicious. No Kate you are being paranoid, get it together and listen to Mr. Winter. Don’t worry about Eric; Eric is your boyfriend out of school. Mr. Winter is your math teacher, during school hours nothing more.
Chrissy shot a few glances at me, telling me to get it together, and to see how I was holding up, just as she had been ever since school started. Eric treated me as a normal student, well maybe he sent me an extra smile or two, or maybe that was just my imagination. It was a good thing I was really good in math, because other wise I would have failed because I was definitely not paying attention and hadn’t been since school started and Eric, no I mean Mr. Winter became my teacher.
I tried to pay attention and take notes, but my mind kept drifting off the pat summer. I remembered every moment I spent with Eric. From the first night we met, him taking me back to his place but us not sleeping together. To the night he asked to be my exclusive boyfriend. To night we first slept together, and all the times after that. And all the little dates we had in-between all those other nights. I even remember how excited I was to tell my parents about Eric, and them blowing me off and how I called Eric in tears. But that was as far as I would let the memories go because I didn’t want to remember the breakup and how depressed it made me. I just replayed that summer over and over in my head until the bell rang.
“May I see you after class, Ms. Grangerly?” Mr. Winter said.
“Of course.” I replied trying to hide my smile. “Chrissy will you wait for me by our lockers?” She gave me a nod; she too had a big smile on her face knowing this would be a good talk not a bad one like they had been in the past.
“It’s okay, I can drive you home if you want.” Eric interjected.
“umm, sure okay.” I said, knowing Chrissy would be sad that she would have to wait longer for the gossip, but happy because there would be more to tell. She nodded her approval with an encouraging smile, but instead of walking out the door she walked over to Eric and said, “If you hurt her again, you will have to answer to me!” then she happily walked out.
Eric fallowed her and locker the door behind her so we could talk alone. Eric gave a relieved sigh and said, “I missed you so much! I can’t even express it.”
“Me too! You have no idea how excited was to get your text.” We started walking toward each. Now that we were together and there was no one around I didn’t want to be this far from him. When we were facing each other our hands met and he stared into each other eyes. “ I didn’t get the chance to say this before we broke up,” I began “and it’s still true now. I love you Eric.” I was happy to get that off my chest but also nervous to how he would reply, I mean after all we did just get back together only yesterday, less than 24 hours, and this was the first time I had said the L- word to him.
He took a deep breath never breaking eye contact with me, “I have loved you everyday I have known you and that is still true now. I love you Kate!” With that, with knowing he truly felt the same way I did, I couldn’t wait any longer. I went up on my tippy toes and leaned in for a kiss, and he did the same (minus the tippy toes). When our lips met, it was perfect. We both had waited too long for that to happen, our bodies craved each other. I took my hand out of his and brought them to the back of his head of I could tangle them up in his hair. He took his hands and placed them on my waist, bring me even closer to him, so there was no space left in-between us.
Just then someone knocked on the classroom door. We jumped apart and I worriedly looked at him. “It’s okay, they don’t know anything.” He whispered as he walked to the door. I went and sat down in a desk. “Hello, Judy. What can I help you with today?” Judy, Mrs. Smith, another math teacher, what was she doing here?
“I was wondering if you were having any troubles with the math department printers? I can’t seem to get them to work.”
“No, but I believe Kathy was having trouble too. I believe she went and talked to Matt about them. I would talk to her maybe she knows what’s up.”
“Okay, sorry to bother you.”
“It’s okay. Have a nice day.” With that he shut the door, and turned to me.
“That was close.” I said, “Good thing the door was locked.” He nodded and he walked closer to me. I stood up from the desk I was sitting, but didn’t move any closer. We needed to talk about this, set boundaries so this wouldn’t happen again. “We need to talk, about this.” I said. He knew what I was getting at so he stopped and sat at the edge of his desk.
“Okay.” he said. But didn’t continue so I did.
“Okay, first we can’t do that at school, I don’t want to get caught and put us, our relationship and your job at stake. Second we have to watch our glances and stuff, we can’t be all cutesy relationship around everyone we have to act professional. Third we can’t be out in public as a couple, too many witnesses.” It hurt to say the last one because I knew that meant no real dates until I graduated which was sad to think about.
“Fourth,” he continued, “we can’t tell anybody, except Chrissy because I know you already told her. You can’t even tell your parents right now.” I nodded I had already thought about that, and knew I couldn’t say anything to anyone, except Chrissy. “But Chrissy can’t tell anyone either.”
I smiled, knowing he wasn’t upset that I had told Chrissy, “she already knows and swore she wouldn’t tell a soul.”
“Okay, is that all?” I nodded. “Then let me drive you home.” Again I nodded. I grabbed my stuff and followed my boyfriend out to his car.

A/N: yeah they are back together! next chapter will be a few weeks later and the huge twist takes place! at this point this will be the main part of the story and should get really interesting! let me know what you think is going to happen! i would love to hear your thoughts! i might update again later this week because i really can't wait to write the next chapter. it might be smaller but it will be really important!
oh yeah, this is a little late but i just wanted to say this. i know i really didn't give my characters descriptions because what i might think of as really hot guy you might not think the same. i did put celebraties that play so and so but that's just my opinion, you are welcome to think of whoever you want! that's why i don't really describe my characters which i know is bad as a writer but i just want you to imagin whoever you want. plus i know i like to picture myself as the female role a lot of times so yeah.
