Fade In
INT. SEABROOK - GO CART TRACK - SAME
The light turns green and the teens take off with a quickness down the course. Bree pulls ahead of everyone as they make their first turn.
TRACEY
(Bumps into Addison)
Too wide of an opening, Addie
ADDISON
(Looks over at Tracey)
Seriously
ZED
(Speeds up)
Come on Boys! Let's do this!
ELIZA
Over my dead body
(Gets behind Zed and bumps him)
ZED
Hey! No bumping this isn't bumper cars
ELIZA
(Pulls up alongside him)
Alls fair in love and war, bestie
ZED
I thought you couldn't drive
ELIZA
(Shrugs)
Guess I just had to get behind the wheel
ZED
(Nods and rams into her)
Two can play that game
BREE
Hey! Watch it I'm right behind you guys
ZED
(Looks at Bree)
Wait if Bree is right there behind us, doesn't that mean we've fallen so far behind that the person in first place is now behind us?
ELIZA
(Looks at Bree then looks at Zed)
See ya!
(Presses on the gas and speeds ahead)
ZED
Hey! Wait for me
(Presses on the gas and follows her)
Zed and Eliza quickly race to catch up with the rest of their friends. As they rounded a corner, they noticed both Tracey and Addison in an intense race with each other. They were side by side, bumping into each other with extreme road rage. Up ahead of them was Bucky, Lacey, and Bonzo, driving with extreme caution.
ZED
Look at Bucky. He's driving so perfectly
ELIZA
I know, look, he's even at a decent speed
The automated announcer alerted everyone that they were now on their final lap, then all hell broke loose as they realized whoever wins during this final lap will be the victor for the evening.
Bree crosses the finish line and begins her final lap, with Bucky hot on her trail and Lacey not far behind him.
BREE
(Looks at Bucky in her rear view mirror)
Get off my butt!
BUCKY
Then move! That first place spot is mine
BREE
No way!
(Turns)
BUCKY
(Turns behind her and bumps her)
BREE
(Screams)
Hey! Don't do that
BUCKY
(Chuckles)
Victory shall be mine!
(Bumps her again)
BREE
(Loses control of the wheel)
No!
Bree's car begins to spin and twirls it's way into one of the plush stoppers. As she's getting herself situated, Bucky drives past her with a huge smile on his face.
BUCKY
Better luck next time
Bucky passes the finish line and wins the race for the boys. A few seconds later, Lacey passes the finish line, followed by Tracey, Bonzo, Addison, Eliza, and Zed.
BUCKY
In your face, boys win
ZED
Yeah!
BONZO
Ga!
TRACEY
I knew we would
ADDISON
Oh whatever
ELIZA
Yeah it was one win out of three games. That's not much of a win
BREE
Right you guys didn't even win the best two out of three
LACEY
Wait, you guys have played more games tonight?
BREE
Yeah, we did laser tag and bowling
TRACEY
Oh my god, then we all have to play baseball. My dad owns the baseball diamond behind the supermarket
ELIZA
Wow, how rich are you guys?
LACEY
Everyone in SeaBrook has money and pretty soon so will you guys. Mm especially your dad, he's good with computers right Eliza?
ELIZA
Yeah that's where I get my love for technology from. My dad.
LACEY
My mom's definitely going to recruit him for her company. She needs all the talented people she can get and if your dad's skills are even more superior than yours than she's going to pay top dollar for him
ELIZA
You think so?
LACEY
I know so. My mother spares no expenses when it comes to making money and being the best
ELIZA
Cool. I'm sure my dad will be happy to work with her
TRACEY
Hello? Are we doing this or not?
ADDISON
Well I'm in. I love baseball
ZED
I've never played before but I've heard of it. I'm in
BONZO

ZED
That means he's in
BUCKY
Any chance I get to redeem the boys status I'm taking it so I'm definitely in
BREE
Thank god we don't have school tomorrow. Otherwise my mother would be blowing my phone up trying to figure out where I am. Oh, I'm in too by the way
TRACEY
That only leaves Liz and Lace
BUCKY
Whoa, whoa, wait, who is Liz?
TRACEY
It's my new nickname for Eliza
ADDISON
I like it
BUCKY
Well I don't
ELIZA
Neither do I. It sounds like I'm a 76 year old woman, who smells like malt balls and peppermint with stuffed animals all around me. You can call me E though
TRACEY
E?
ELIZA
(Nods)
TRACEY
E it is then
BUCKY
I'm not sure I'm comfortable with this whole nickname thing
ELIZA
(Looks at him)
BUCKY
What?
ELIZA
Your jealous side, it's cute
TRACEY
You mean weird, right? Bucky's never acted like this before, especially not towards me
LACEY
He's never been in love before. And Ronnie definitely was not the one for him
ZED
Who's Ronnie?
LACEY
It's what Bucky's ex girlfriend used to like to be addressed by
TRACEY
I'm not going to lie I use to think she was a boy. Cause she was strangely strong.
ADDISON
I mean she lifted weights
BUCKY
Okay, okay, let's not dwell on the past. That was back when I had terrible taste in women. Baseball anyone?
ELIZA
Awesome, another sport for us girls to beat you guys in. This should be fun
TRACEY
Okay we're going to take my truck cause I don't think Bucky's SeaBrook van will fit all of us
BREE
Definitely not
Tracey
Let's go then
Tracey leads his friends out of the go cart track and out to the parking lot. Once they get to the parking lot he carefully leads them over to his truck and unlocks the doors.
LACEY
(Climbs inside)
Wait, what happened to your sedan?
TRACEY
(Gets inside)
My dad said with all the new residences moving to SeaBrook it's likely that a few of them will need rides to school. He gave me this so I can help give rides to school.
ADDISON
(Climbs in)
That was really nice of him
ZED
(Gets in)
Yeah, I know a lot of zombies who'll really appreciate the help getting to school
ELIZA
Yeah like me. No more walking? I'm all for it
(Gets in)
BUCKY
(Laughs)
You're so lazy
(Gets in)
BONZO
(Jumps in)
BREE
Yay I have the window seat. I love sitting by the window.
TRACEY
Alright, everyone inside? Good. Buckle up
ADDISON
(Puts her seatbelt on)
BUCKY
(Puts his seatbelt on)
LACEY
(Puts her seatbelt on)
TRACEY
(Puts his seatbelt on)
BREE
(Puts her seatbelt on)
TRACEY
(Looks in the rear view mirror and notices neither Zed, Eliza, or Bonzo have their seatbelts on)
Hey guys what's going on? Seatbelts save lives
ELIZA
Uh in case you forgot we're undead
ZED
Exactly
TRACEY
Oh yeah, I did forget about that. Oh well
(Puts the key in the ignition and starts the car)
ZED
How far is it from here to the baseball diamond?
TRACEY
We actually could've walked but who really wants to walk? Walking is so over rated
(Pulls out of his parking spot and exits the parking lot)
BREE
Like oxygen and dirt
TRACEY
Exactly
Tracey drove a few blocks down, to the baseball diamond behind the supermarket then parked. Everyone piled out of the truck and looked around.
ZED
Anyone have the time?
ADDISON
(Looks at her watch)
It's 10:50
ZED
Night time baseball, there's nothing better
