Classifications.

Yeah, whatever.

CLASSIFICATIONS:

There are certain prerequisites

To a classification you bestow.

Like a best friend, a boyfriend, a mentor;

There are qualities you uphold.

So when you accuse someone of not fulfilling

The classifications they supposedly possess,

They would have flouted the unspoken rules,

And not have done their best.

So, maybe I haven’t been living up to

The expectations of my classification.

I admit it, I did not treat you the way I should have,

To have deserved your accusation.

To have been able to feel so unjustified,

You must have your rights severely wronged.

I mean, since you fulfilled your expectations so wonderfully,

To know you possessions that belonged.

Wait, seriously? You fulfilled everything

Stated under the classification you hold?

All your expectations of me to stand up to;

You failed them too. Did you know?

Apparently not, as obvious with the self-righteous air

You seem to carry on you at full blast.

Your indignation and refusal accompanied by your pursue

In not coming in last.

You tell me how I’ve failed you,

With my willful, attention-seeking ways.

Yes I have, maybe I did,

But in my judgment and punishment, you have no say.

Why don’t you take a look at the mirror,

And try to find all your finger-pointing.

You never know; you might just spot a hundred

Of the lies that you’re throwing.

It’s not that I’m blameless in my actions,

By just abandoning my supposed place.

But you’re the last person with the right,

To point your skinny finger in my face.
