Strangers.

Self explanatory.

STRANGERS:

We are strangers,

As we had always been.

I thought I knew you well,

But you are not what you seem.

Growing up, I was with you,

Through every step of the way.

As to whether you felt the same,

No one else but you can say.

You see, its perfectly normal,

For people to change in their lifetime.

You are no exception, I’m sure,

So I decided to turn a little blind.

Blind? Oh dear, how foolish I was!

Foolish to pretend that it was all the same.

I was believing in the impossible,

Of thinking that you didn’t change.

Now, I marvel; how I could have accomplished,

Such a large, miraculous feat.

I stopped being you priority a long time ago,

But I just closed my eyes and let it slip.

Did our past mean absolutely nothing to you,

In comparison to the joys the opposite sex can bring?

Do you really crave their attention so much,

To ignore my messages and let my calls ring?

No, darling, you don’t need to answer me,

But wait, you never did.

Nothing will ever change here,

No matter how much I try to plead.

Because we are strangers,

And we don’t know each other.

You can live your happily ever afters,

While I’ll just sit here and suffer.

Carry on living your frivolous life,

And take joy in your self-created dramas.

I am going to throw you out of my mind,

Oh so very, very, very far.

But honestly, did you change from the beginning,

Or right at the very end?

Did it come to you simultaneously,

Or was it all pre-planned?

Wait, it doesn’t even matter,

Because you won’t even look at me in the eye.

Am I Medusa, or some gorgon,

That you can’t even be bothered to say bye?

You know what? Forget it.

Forget all that we ever had.

You are not worth my tears,

So I’m going to smile and be glad.
