Jay's P.O.V.

"Jay? Come on, were going home now." I sighed, not bothering to move from my seat on the bed.

It was the morning after I had received the news of my pregnancy and I had spent the night unable to sleep, the knowledge that I had a tiny human inside me keeping me awake. I knew that neither Dan nor Phil had slept much either, I had seen them sitting up on the their shared bed, arms wrapped around each other.

"Jay?" I shook my head, my knee pulled up to my chest and my head resting on it.

I squeaked as I felt someone pick me up in a bridle style position. When I looked up I saw it was Dan, his hair unusually curly and his eyes rimmed red from crying.

"Dan?" He sighed, nuzzling his nose into my hair.

"Everyone's a little upset and Louise is coming to visit this afternoon, just so you know." I nodded, it had been a few months since I had seen Louise since she had been over in America for a while.

"Is Phil okay?" Dan shrugged but I saw something else. "You're lying to me." He shrugged again.

"He's- um, not taking it well and is pretty upset, but then again everyone is." I nodded, reaching out as Dan set me down in my wheelchair, supporting myself with my armrests and adjusting myself so I was comfortable. It wasn't surprising that they weren't taking it well, I couldn't understand how someone would take it well.

"Do I get to stay home this time?" Dan didn't seem to reply, he just started to push my chair down the hall. "Dan?"

"We don't know yet, I think they might want to do some more tests later." I groaned to myself, not wanting to go back to the hospital again.

As we made our way out of the front of the hospital I saw Phil standing beside a van, the same one we had travelled to the hospital in the day before. It was the same route, the ramp came down, I went up it and the chair was fixed down and then we were off, back home for the second time in two days, only this time with a person that I didn't know about before, safely in with me.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was sitting on the ground in front of the big glass doors in the living room, my eyes following the birds that were outside, many of them chasing each other. Dan had thrown some crusts of bread on the lawn about a quarter of an hour earlier and there were a whole bunch of sparrows fighting over the food.

Dan and Phil were in the kitchen, I could hear them clattering around with cutlery and bowls and stuff, probably making lunch as it was around 1 o'clock. My laptop was sitting on the floor beside me as I had been going through my Instagram, where a lot of people where giving me their best wishes.

I had asked Dan to take a photo of me to show them that I was okay and I was out of hospital, even though I was keeping my pregnancy a secret because I didn't want anyone to know just yet.

Most of the comments were kind, saying they hoped I got better soon and there were several asking what had happened, which I ignored.

I turned my head over to my laptop, which had dinged rather loudly, and turned it on, noticing a message from Anais. Dan had showed my how to use Skype because I didn't have my phone any more, which had either been destroyed or held back as evidence and it was the only way I could talk with anyone else.

The message read hey Jay, do you know when you're coming back to school? Probably not this week I know but soon? Hopefully? I smiled at her hopeful message as she had no idea that I had been back to hospital or what had happened.

I have no idea, I don't even know if Officer Briny is going to let me back until after the trial but I don't even know when that is. It was true, no one had told me when the trial for the remaining people involved was going to be held, and I just hoped that I wouldn't have to go.

"Jay! Louise is here!" I didn't bother to move, knowing they would come and find me eventually if I didn't come out. I could hear her voice, loud and worried, and I knew at once that I wasn't really in the mood for talking to anyone or be in the comfort of anyone who was talking.

My laptop pinged again and I saw another message from Anais.

Ah that makes sense and tbh I wouldn't be surprised. How was your first full day home? Even though you were sick, and are you okay now? I covered my face with my hands, not knowing what to tell her. I didn't know what to tell her because I didn't want her to know, I didn't want anyone to know, but I wanted to trust her.

"Jay? Did you hear me?" I looked around to see Dan standing in the doorway of the living room, his arms folded.

I nodded, leaning my head against the cold glass and hoping I'd get to stay alone. I heard footsteps and then Dan came and sat down beside me, reaching his hand out and offering it for me to take, which I did.

"You just want to be alone, don't you?"

"Yeah. I kinda just want to be by myself." Dan squeezed my hand, keeping his distance which I was glad for.

"That's okay, I'll get Louise to come in for a few minutes so she can see you're okay, she's been very worried about you and then we'll leave you alone okay." I grinned thankfully, squeezing Dan's hand back. He paused for a couple of seconds. "Do you want anything to eat?"

I shook my head.

"That's okay, just make sure you have something to eat at dinner, but it's okay for now. I'll get Louise in, then we'll leave you alone." Dan placed one of his hands under my arm, helping me to my feet as I used him as support, wobbling unsteadily on my one leg and clinging to Dan, hoping not to fall over.

"Easy, easy, just stay still for a couple of seconds and then I can help okay." He continued to support me, holding me up with one hand while he leaned to the side to grab my crutches, which were on the floor a few metres away. "Here you go, you okay?"

"I'm fine, just- woah! Don't let go." My grip tightened on Dan's sleeves, frightening myself with my unsteadiness.

"It's okay, just stay next to me."
