"Must be love on the brain, got me feeling this way." Jordyn mumbled to herself as she pulled out the keys to her best friend's apartment. Today she decided to pick up dinner for the both of them and spend a day relaxing and chilling.
The man's name was Jayson Tatum. He was one of the most influential basketball players of his generation and Jordyn slowly fell in love with that drive. She wanted to express her feelings verbally, but deep down she knew he had something for her.
Jordyn finally got the door open, pushing it with her side as she held on tightly to the Chick-Fil-La bags. As she stepped into the apartment, she heard giggling coming from the direction of his room.
"Is he watching some weird ass chick flick again?" Jordyn mumbled to herself as she put down her bag and food items. An amused smile was plastered on her face as she remembered catching him watching an old Disney movie. He was so embarrassed he turned red, claiming he just wanted to see what was the hype. As she pushed opened his door, her smile turned into an instant frown at the sight before her.
"Stop playing Jayson. You know what happened the last time you started tickling me." The blonde haired vixen stated as she giggled with the man. Jayson let out a deep chuckle as he wrapped his arms around her torso and brought their naked bodies together.
"And who said I don't want that to happen to again?" He said with a small smirk across his face. Jordyn felt a tear escape from her eyes as she quickly turned around from the scene. Just the other day he said he wasn't messing with no one, giving her the hope that she had the chance.
However, she should've listened to her conscience and not trust the basketball player. Jordyn picked up her bag and her food and exited the apartment, saying bye to Jayson and bye to Boston.
Two Years Later.
"Jordyn. Jordyn. Girl." Alexander Jordyn's assistant yelled throughout the building as he ran into her office. Jordyn accepted a position at GQ magazine two years ago and has worked her way to be a top writer in the magazine.
"Yes Alex. What are you so excited about babes?" She asked as she smiled at her jubilant assistant. The slim African American man held his chest as he tried to catch his breath.
"Jordyn. Jim Nelson just sent an order to your desk stating that you got the cover this month." Alex said as his face lit up. Jordyn watched her assistant in shock as she pulled the envelope out of his hand.
"We are grateful to announce that you, Jordyn Cousins and your team are in charge of next month's cover." Jordyn read out loud before letting out a scream. She jumped up from her seat and danced around as Alex filmed her on Snapchat.
"Wait, does it state who will be on the cover, or I have to work on that?" She asked her assistant. He picked up the letter and scan through it until he saw the very famous name.
"Ooo you will be working with the extremely handsome, the Daddy I would like to fuck, Jayson Tatum." Alex said with a big smile. Jordyn's mood instantly turned sour as she watched her nails.
"Oh."
"Oh. Girl. Do you know who this man yes. I heard he is single." Alex started to rant as she closed her office door. The best friend mode kicked in as he wonder what was wrong with her.
"You remembered when I first moved here and I told you one of the deciding factors was I got my heart broken by someone." She started off as she pulled a pen and pad out to start sketching out her questions.
"No. He the fuck nigga that was fucking another bitch, after he told you he have slight feelings for you and not to worry about no one else?" Alex asked as he remembered the story she told him.
"Yup. Jayson Tatum."
"Damn Boo. I'm sorry about that. But we got to this cover. If he try some thing, I'll just box him in his nose. I have a pretty strong fist, like I sank it in somebody's ass already. He will be extremely hurt."
"Pause. You did what?" Jordyn said as she watched her friend with a confused look.
"I fisted his ass. You think I spend all this time with Johnathon not to experiment? Had him moaning like a little bitch though. Ha." He said as he stuck his tongue out, reminiscing on his sexual escapades.
"You. You just nasty." Jordyn said as she shook her head. She picked up the letter and dialed the contact number for Jayson. She left it on speaker phone, just incase she needed Alex's help,
"Good afternoon, this is Jayson Tatum, who am I speaking with?" His smooth voice said as he answered on the third ring. Jordyn took him a deep breath as she tried to block all of her memories of him.
"Good Afternoon, I am Jordyn Cousins, a Senior writer from GQ, calling to inform you that I will be working with you for your cover on the magazine." She said in one breath, giving Alex a panicked smile.
"Wait Jordyn, that's you baby girl?" He asked in awe. Jordyn watched her best friend with wide eyes as he shook his head. He quickly advised her to keep it professional.
"Yes. But can we keep this conversation as professional as possible. I just want to clarify if the dates that your presented to do shoot, if they are still feasible for you?" She said quickly changing the topic.
"Yes, nothing has changed." He said quickly.
"Great. Thanks for doing this with us and looking forward to working with you."
"Thanks For the opportunity and Jordyn?" He called her name, hoping that she would react positively to his follow up statement.
"Yes?"
"I miss you baby girl." Jordyn panicked at his words and slammed the phone on the receiver, quickly ending the call. As she watched her friend with wide eyes, Alex shook his head as he smiled.
"This is about to be one messy ass project."
