It has already been a week since he met Erika and he hadn’t seen her since Monday but the next few days put Jason into a good mood that it’s starting to creep the boys out.
Jason kept grinning from ear to ear as he slip down the cafeteria in between Chad and Sean. Kyle put down his fork and looked up at Jason.
“Okay what’s with the creepy smile you’ve had all week” Jason looked at him confusedly but his smile didn’t falter.
“What smile?” Jason asked still smiling.
“Jesus Christ just tell us it’s getting really creepy” Chad complained as he slammed his fist on the table.
Jason frowned he didn’t know he’d been smiling all week. He hadn’t told them he’d met Erika and his emotions kept moving from sad to happy just by thinking about her.
“And he’s back to his sad moping self” Chad forked his Carbonara and started eating it.
“Are you high? You look like a bi polar on drugs. One moment you’re happy the next you’re moping around like your dog just died!” Chad asked his tone mocked with exaggeration while Jason glared at him.
“I’m not on drugs and I’m not bipolar” Jason grunted as he unwrapped his ham sandwich and took a big bite out of it.
“Besides I think I might meet Erika again today” Jason mumbled silently.
“Who’s Erika?” asked Nash who has been quiet the whole time.
“Ah, Erika the mystery virgin” Kyle wiggled his eyebrows at him. Sean stopped texting and gaped at Jason.
“I thought you’d tell me when you find her?” Jason rolled his eyes at him.
“What are you my mom? Do I always have to tell you every portion in my life?” Sean shrugged.
“Of course we’re your buddies” Sean exclaimed as if explaining to a person about the giant ball of fire in the sky is. Jason just looked at him in annoyance.
“Whatever” he mumbled and continued eating his sandwich and gulped down his coke.
Sean turned back to Kyle knowing that Jason wouldn’t be giving anything away.
“So who is this Erika girl?” Sean asked Kyle. Nash had his head buried in his textbook but they all know he was just as interested as Sean is. Kyle suddenly felt the pressure of everyone’s gazes at him and gulped.
“Well” Jason was staring at him with a ‘say it or I’ll kill you’ look. Kyle was oblivious to the glare Jason was giving him and began telling the story while Sean and Chad looked like silly teenage girl looking for some juicy gossip.
“Jason had an accidental meeting with a certain mystery virgin named Erika Daughtery and it just so happens that she studies in this University” Sean and Chad chuckles and started teasing Jason and bombarding him with questions.
Jason felt irritated that he had to deal with his friends annoying questions all the while Nash was quietly enjoying the small banter of his friends, amusement glinting his eyes at their silly actions.
After lunch Jason got up from his seat and headed towards his next class while the boy’s made kissy faces at him and Jason greeted them by showing them the middle finger and chuckling to himself as he left the cafeteria.
After all his classes had finished Jason was left disappointed for not meeting Erika again. He thought that since it was Monday they’d be meeting again sadly it never happened.
Jason has been craving her touch so bad that he would sometimes have wet dreams about her in bed. He just couldn’t seem to stop thinking about her and no amount of girls would help him distract himself from thinking about her.
I want to see her again.
And as if the heavens above him heard his prayers a girl with headphones and hoodie appeared from the campus and was walking towards the parking lot. Jason couldn’t help but think that she might be Erika.
Jason began walking closer towards her but a redheaded girl went up to her and jumped at her back for a piggy back causing her hood to fall off.
From afar Jason could see the small smile that played in her face as her friend hugged her and pointed ahead where Erika nodded and continued carrying her on her back.
Erika laughed at something Lisa told her and the sound of her laugh pulled a small smile on Jason’s face.
Jason thought she had a great laugh. A laugh filled with happiness. Jason followed her with his gaze until she stopped by in front of a certain brown haired boy whom Jason suddenly realized as Sid.
Erika’s smile dropped when she saw Sid leaning against Lisa’s silver Toyota Vios. Erika hitched a ride with Lisa since she didn’t want to take the bus to uni but seeing Sid caused different emotions to flash through her eyes but she covered them up with her cold glare. Lisa fell from Erika’s back and looked at the two curiously.
“Why are you here? Didn’t we agree to stay away from each other?” Erika looked at Sid through her glare while he remained calm as if being glared at was perfectly normal for him. Sid sighed and looked at Lisa and flasher her his million dollar smile.
“I’m sorry but can I borrow your friend for a while. I can give her ride home if you want”
Lisa looked at Erika for confirmation. Erika turned to her friend and gave her a genuine smile.
“It’s okay Lis you can go home first” Lisa looked at her cautiously but nodded.
“Okay, see you later then Riri. Call me or text me later” She gave Sid another curious glance before starting her car and pulling away from the parking lot and gave Erika a short wave. Erika smiled and waved back then turned to Sid who watched her with amusement.
“So Riri, huh that's cute? Wanna grab some coffee?” He looked up at her underneath his brown locks but Erika still had her cold glare at him.
“Don’t push it” She growled. Sid chuckled and was about to wrap his arm around her but thought better and pretended to run his hands through his hair.
“So…coffee?” He repeated as the both of them neared his Blue convertible and he unlocked it.
“You’re paying” Erika muttered as she went into the passenger side but Sid stepped in and opened the door for her. Erika felt a small smile tug at her lips at the kind gesture but thought better of it and rolled her eyes instead and muttered something along the lines of ‘men’
Sid smiled as he closed the door and jogged towards the driver’s seat and started the engine.
Throughout their interaction Jason stood in his place and simply observed as his step- brother’s car sped away and left him staring at the retreating figure of his car.
Since when did Sid have a fucking convertible?
What’s his relationship with Erika?
Why are they acting like some couple?
Jason frowned and remembered Sid’s words about Staying away from her. Jason also thought back to the day he spoke about her with pain and coldness and with the scene he had witnessed in front of him Jason couldn’t help but wonder what it is the both of them seem to share in the past?
And why the hell does he want me to stay away from her when he can’t seem to get his hands off her?
Jason felt a pang of jealousy towards their relationship, maybe Jason will ask about them later when Sid comes home.
Jason went to his old black Honda and frowned as he compared it with his step brother’s blue convertible. Jason had saved up enough money so he can buy a decent second hand car since he wouldn’t want to rely on his parents for money but now that he looked back at Sid’s ride he could feel his self – esteem draining as he saw Erika get in his car.
Get over it Jason at least you worked your ass off for this car instead of schmoozing around your parents.
Jason started driving away back to his apartment where he saw Kyle reading his textbook in the living room while watching TV.
“Hey man” Jason greeted Kyle with a nod and opened the fridge to drink some milk.
“Where’s Sid?” Jason asked.
I know where he is I just wanted to know what he told Kyle.
Kyle shrugged and turned the page of his textbook.
“Got some date with some chick. He said he won’t be home till tomorrow. I think that man is finally getting some action tonight” Kyle chuckled but Jason felt something else.
He knew Sid is with Erika. He knew they shared some kind of dark past Jason wouldn’t be a part of but somehow he wanted to be a part of it, a part of her. He didn’t think of her as just some girl he had a one night stand.
He knew he felt something right after they had sex and he hoped maybe she did to but Jason felt angrier than he ever felt before, Sid knew Jason called dibs on her but knowing that they both shared a past and was told to stay away from her Jason couldn’t help but feel a slight pang of jealousy. The thought of Sid and Erika together made Jason want to claw his eyes out.
Calm down Jason, she’s not even your girlfriend.
Jason frowned.
Right. She’s not mine…she never was.
It’s best we move on Jason, you’ll get over it.
When will you stop convincing yourself and realize you can never get over her?
Jason was confused as his thoughts began contemplating with each other. He wanted her and he knew it. He wanted to know more of her. He wanted every inch of her and Sid’s warning isn’t gonna stop him.
But for now, he couldn’t do anything, not when he can’t even see her so he did what he can do.
He went to sleep, hoping that tomorrow will be better and that maybe….
Maybe he’ll see her again.
Some time in the middle of the night Jason woke up when he heard noises in the apartment. He heard a loud thud against the wall followed by a groan. Jason tried to cover his ears with his pillow and reminded to tell Kyle to keep his chicks down but then he realized that Kyle wouldn't be bringing some girl home since he's got a big test tomorrow.
Jason groaned he didn't want to hear his step-brother banging some girl next door, all he wanted was some sleep. Jason jumped up from his bed as he began to realize that Sid was with Erika.
Without thinking Jason barged inside his room and found not Erika and Sid making out in his bed but a pathetic looking Sid who clutched his left foot and hopped with the other.
Jason sighed in relief and walked closer to him smelling the faint smell of coffee and alcohol.
"What the hell Sid?" Jason whisper-yelled.
"Ow ow ow. Hey bro, sorry I woke you up. I stubbed my toe in that cabinet" He smiled apologetically at him and glared at the small cabinet on the side.
Jason let out a small laugh partly for his brother’s stupidity and partly for relief of not finding him making out with Erika.
“I’ll go get some ice” Jason left his room and went to the kitchen for some ice then went back to Sid’s room.
Jason threw the ice at Sid and he caught it and pressed it in his toe and muttered a ‘thanks’. Jason leaned against the doorframe and crossed his arms in his chest.
“So..date huh” Jason started. Sid looked at him cautiously.
“Uh yeah, just some girl I met in your school” He shrugged it off as no big deal.
The awkwardness is thick within the air. They haven’t seen each other for 2 years except that time two months ago and there was so much catching up to do yet neither made the first move to open up.
Jason didn’t know how to talk to his brother after all those years of not seeing each other. Should he act like nothing happened? Should he act like 2 years never happened and pretend to play the role of a brother? Jason felt confused on how he should deal with Sid.
This is the second time they’ve talked to each other face to face. Although they’ve been living together for a week now it doesn’t feel like they live together since Sid is always out and about as if he was avoiding Jason.
“Kyle told me you won’t be back till tomorrow. I guess I was surprised to see you here” Jason rubbed the back of his neck while Sid stared at him underneath his eyelashes.
“Well it’s 2: 25 am so technically it is tomorrow” Sid joked trying to lighten up the mood.
Jason had a million of questions buzzing inside his head all of them summarized into one word.
“Yeah” Jason stared down not knowing what to ask him and began to yawn.
“Well I’ll go to sleep now, talk to you later” Sid nodded as Jason shut the door and headed towards his room. He wanted to ask what he has been doing since the both of them rarely talked since he’d moved in here and Jason also rarely saw him because Sid is always off to who knows where and it bothers him that he’s been doing things Jason doesn’t know.
Sid had been secretive since he’d moved in with Jason but Jason waved it off but now that he’d seen him with Erika, Jason kept thinking that maybe he might be up to something else.

I also wanted to do this in third person POV so there'd be a limit to knowing what the both main characters are thinking and so I can jump from main to minor character easily.
Please comment on how do you think I could improve this story better, I'd really appreciate it. :)
