CHAPTER TWO
Once through the landing bay the doors to the reception area opened with a ‘squ-ish’. All of them entered and lined up at the reception desk. Sid was first but could hardly see over the desk. The receptionist looked behind to Arianne, “yes madam, can I help you?”
“What do you mean madam?” blurted Sid from his lowly position behind the counter.
“Sorry sir,” said the receptionist, “I didn’t see you there.”
“Is it my fault that you’re sight challenged?” shouted Sid.
The receptionist stuttered a bit, “S..sorry sir, what can I help you with?”
“I’ve come for the job in the chocolate making section.”
“What race are you?”
“What do ya mean?”
“What race are you?”
“I don't see that that has anything to do with it!”
“Well, I’m sorry, but we employ a lot of goblins. They don’t get on with Dwarves and that’s what you look like.”
“I, er, I’m a Loompa Oompa,” said Sid in a round about kind of way.
“Loompa Oompa. What’s one of them?” asked the receptionist.
“It’s er, a planet, on the er, outer rim. Er…”
“As long as you’re not a dwarf, fill this in.” The receptionist gave Sid a hand held PC to fill in an application form.
When Lelu got to the desk the receptionist asked her, “Which job did you want to go for?”
“The secretarial post.”
