Chapter 10: I'm not even sure you're a girl at all.

Tristan climbs on the swing set like a little boy and starts sliding down the slide.

"That's fun?" I raise my eyebrow, utterly bored. I thought that bad boy's way of having fun would be dangerous and risky. I thought mischief would be caused and cops would be on our trail, but I guess I'm stuck with an eighteen year old child sliding down a children's slide.

That's one way to be a bad boy.

"Join me," he offers.

"No thanks, I can't afford to lose the little maturity I have left in me," I shake my head.

"Hello? This is for children only," a small boy, who looks around five years old, whines at Tristan and pokes his shoulder blade.

"I was here first. Wait your chance," Tristan sticks his tongue out to him. How old is this guy?

"I'm gowing to tell my mommy," tears begin filling the boy's eyes and he runs off.

"You're a sadist," I glare at him.

"No, I was just expressing my right to do what I want," he states and I let out a soft chuckle.

"You coming or not?"

Giving up, I board myself on the wooden structure and position myself on the slide. Tristan gives me a push from behind and I slide down.

"Was that hard?" He asks and I roll my eyes. "Now we go down together," he grins.

"What?" I choke on my breath.

"Just come, Angel, or are you scared that your innocence will be ruined?" He smirks.

"You know, if you really wanted me that close to you, you could've just asked," I smirk.

"I don't have to. I just get what I want," he winks.

"Ugh don't flatter yourself," I roll my eyes and get back up to the top of the slide.

"Angel, many girls would love to be this close to me," he states.

"Yeah, well I'm not 'many girls'," I retort.

"Clearly," he mutters. "I'm not even sure you're a girl at all."

I smack him behind his head and he lets out a yelp and I let out a victory grin.

"If you're done abusing me, can we please just slide down," he says. I grunt, "Fine."

He gestures for me to go foward but I give him a look that says I'm not doing that  but he doesn't allow me to deny and I sigh and go foward. I sit down and he sits down behind me. He puts his legs on my sides and puts his hands on my shoulders. I feel something hard on my coccyx and I nudge it with my arms.

"Angel, I wouldn't do that if I were you," he whispers into my ear, his fresh minty breath fanning my neck.

"Wouldn't do wha--" it suddenly sinks in.

Ewww!

He sees me scrunch my nose in disgust and bursts into laughter. I roll my eyes and slide down with Tristan behind me. As I reach the ground, I stand up and start walking.

"Angel, where are you going?" He asks between laughter as he catches up to me.

"Getting away from you," I state and he rolls his eyes before grabbing my wrist and drags me.

"Where are you taking me?" I whine as I walk reluctantly.

"Can you keep quiet for once?" he asks and I stick my tongue out at him. He drags me behind a jumping castle with laughing kids inside. He takes out a pocket knife and smirks up at me.

"Why do you have that?" I point to the knife under his grasp.

"You are going to puncture this thingy with this knife," he says.

"Hell no. I'm not doing that," I shake my head indisputably.

"You really don't know how to have fun," he sighs. "But it's fine, I tried. I guess good girls will always remain good girls," he raises his hands up in surrender. I know what his playing at. His trying to persuade me into doing this by calling me a good girl because he knows how that gets to me.

"You are evil," I glare at him and he a victory smirk plays at his lips.

"Fine," I sigh. "Give that thing," I reach out to grab the knife from his palm. I look at the knife and think about all the bad memories that this death trap has given and without further hesitation, I stab it. Children run out screaming before the jumping castle can collapse.

Feeling victorious, I smile at Tristan and he stares at me impressed. "What do we do now?" I ask.

"Run."

The drug called adrenaline kicks in and reboots my energy system. My blood pumps faster and I can hear my heartbeat in my ear. My legs get to work and catapults me through the scrambling kids. I follow Tristan as he leads the way.

I hear I man shouting behind my trail, shouting for us to stop. I gues he is the security guard.

Did I judge Tristan too soon about not doing what bad boys do?

Yep.

We continue running. Tristan runs into a candy store and I follow closely. We secrete behind a giant cand floss stall and the security guard zooms right past us.

"Is this your idea of fun, Tristan?" I whisper yell.

"Uh, yes," he says nonchalantly.

"You're unbelie--"

"Unbelievably hot," Tristan cuts me off, earning a glare from him.

"Run," he grabs my wrist and pulls me with him. I haven't gained my balance from the pull and suddenly...

I fall.

"I'm gonna murder you, tear your limbs apart, put you back together, bring you back to life, and do it all over again," I glare at Tristan.

"Your imagination is very active," he says sarcastically.

"Don't test me Tristy," I warn.

"Well, maybe, if you hadn't tripped, we might've never gotten in this place," he protests.

After Tristan had pulled me, making me fall, the security guard caught us. We were able to run away again but just as we were about to exit the fun house, some other security guards cornered us.

And that ladies and gentleman is how we ended up here.

In jail.

Yep, that's right, they called the cops on us. I don't really understand why they had to call the cops on two teenagers, who are nothing but harmless--that's if you count out the part where one of them carries a pocket knife-- when they could've just put us in a holding cell in the building.

This is my first time I've ever been in jail and trust me, it is NOT a delightful place. There's a pungent smell that possibly killed my sense of smell, there are cigarettes littering the floor and the sleeping mattresses seemed to be drenched in the smell of pee.

How do people survive in this place? If only people know what awaits them before committing a crime and they would discontinue with their illicit actions. Although, there are people who do know what prison life is all about, proceed in doing felonious actions and go to jail. There's only one word to call those people-- idiots.

"You pulled me without a warning and caused me to trip and fall," I protest as well.

"That's because if I left you there, you would've been caught alone."

"Who's idea was this in the first place?!"

"Well, in my defense, you owed me Oreos."

"Did you get them?!"

"No, you still have to buy them for me."

"How about you go buy them yourself!"

"No, you owe---"

"Can you two stop bickering!" The police officer reprimands us.

"Where's Tristan?" A middle aged woman with flawless skin and gorgeous silky dark brown hair appears. I assume it's Tristan's mother.

"Tristan Lesley Wilder, how many times do want me to punish you in order for you to learn your lesson?" The lady yells at Tristan. Meanwhile, I'm laughing at his middle name--- Lesley. The officer unlocks the cell to let us out.

"Mom," Tristan whines. "Can we not do this here?"

"You are lucky they called me instead of your father. How do you think he's going to react when he finds out?" She rests her hands on her hips.

"Excuse me ma'am," I politely cut off the conversation. "I think Lesley here," Tristan gives me a death glare and I try to hold in my laugh, "--understands what he has put you through, and I bet he'll never do it again, right Lesley?" I grin at Tristan.

"Right," he grunts.

"I sure do hope so," his mother sighs. "What's your name dear?" She asks kindly.

"Hailey," I offer her my hand. Instead, she pulls me in for a tight hug. "Thank you for putting up with this idiot I call my child," she pats my back.

"Are you sure idiot is the right word to use," I joke.

"I guess not. How about weasel, egghead---"

Tristan clears his throat, with a death glare painted on his face, "I'm right here," he points out.

"Ignore him," his mother chuckles. "Do you have a ride home?" She asks me.

"I'll call my mother, Mrs Wilder," I say.

"Call me Lizzy, dear. I'll give you a ride home, I don't mind," she offers.

"Thank you."

"Let's go. Tristan where did you find Hailey? In the store for perfect children?" Lizzy jokes.

"You don't want to know," Tristan mutters and I elbow him in the gut and he lets out a grunt.
