Soon, the gang was riding up the hill right at the break of day. Cynthia and the twins had stayed down in Whoville to explain the situation to the Whos once they woke up.
"It's all you, Maxie!" The Grinch called out to his dog as he was upfront pulling the extremely heavy load on the sleigh.
Ten thousand feet up the side of Mount Crumpit... he rode with his load to the tiptop to dump it.
"Do you think Cynthia and the twins got things handled down there?" David asked Kali and Teeders, out of breath.
The girls just looked to him while poor Max finally came up to the very tippy top of Mount Crumpit and finally got a rest.
"WE DID IT!" The Grinch shouted out in victory, then clapped his hands like a little child. "We did it! We did it!"
"I can't believe it..." Teeders was in complete shock. "We actually stole Christmas"
"They'll be waking up now" The Grinch grinned evilly while the remaining adventure kids looked at him. "And I know just what they'll do. All those Whos down in Whoville will all... cry"
Down in Whoville, the Whos did cry at first as their Xmas spirits were ruined by the Grinch's trickery. The Mayor, obviously being his selfish self blamed Cindy Lou for the whole thing by inciting the Grinch. Cynthia and the twins glared fiercely at the mayor, about to have at him until surprisingly, Cindy's dad Lou Who stood up and defended his daughter. This surprised the rest of the crowd.
Lou was glad that the Grinch took away their presents and everything, telling the Mayor you can't hurt Christmas, because it's not all about the presents or the contests or the lights, even the food. It's about being together with your loved ones and helping each other out. And that's what Cindy Lou and her new friends had been trying to tell everyone.
"Merry Christmas, everybody! Merry Christmas!" All the Whos cheered and were happy, much to the Mayor's displeasure.
Cynthia and the twins smiled with Cindy Lou, glad that everyone was finally seeing the true meaning of Christmas. They soon went back up to Mount Crumpit through the garbage shoot to tell the others that their plan had worked.
"Mr. Grinch?" Cindy called out, looking up to see the sleigh on top of the mountain. "Mr. Grinch?"
Back on the top with the Grinch and the other kids~
"Now for the final note in my symphony of downright nasty not-niceness!" The heartless green creature snickered fiendishly while the kids glanced at each other and watched him. "It'll be like music to my ears!"
Then the Grinch heard a sound rising over the snow. It started in low, then it started to grow. But the sound wasn't sad. Why, this sounded merry. But it was merry. Very.
Every Who down in Whoville, the tall and the small... were singing without any presents at all. He hadn't stopped Christmas from coming. It came.
"Somehow or other, it came just the same!" The Grinch complained, while the kids came up to his side.
And the Grinch, with his Grinch feet ice-cold in the snow... stood puzzling and puzzling.
"How could it be so?" The Grinch puzzled, turning to his dog and the adventure kids. "It came without ribbons! It came without tags! It came without packages, boxes or bags!"
And he puzzled and puzzled till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before.
"Maybe... Christmas..." He thought. "...Doesn't come from a store"
"You're right about that" Kali placed her hand on the Grinch's hairy shoulder and looked to him, smiling warmly.
"Maybe Christmas perhaps... means a little bit more" The Grinch said.
"It does" Teeders and David told the Grinch, coming up to him. "It really does"
Suddenly the Grinch reeled back and fell in the snow, in pain coming from his chest, going crazy as something wonderful was happening.
And what happened then... well, in Whoville they say... that the Grinch's small heart... grew three sizes that day.
"What's happening to me? I'm all... toasty inside" The Grinch started crying with joy as he finally cared, with his heart filled with happiness and love. "And I'm leaking"
"It's the joy of Christmas!" Kali told the Grinch, beaming along with Teeders and David.
"Oh, Max" The Grinch turned to his dog, smiling. "I love you!"
The brown dog then came to his best friend as he knocked him over and gave him doggy kisses, while the three adventure smiled being happy for the Grinch.
"Alright, that's enough. Knock it off. Beat it!" The Grinch glared slightly towards his dog while the kids silently blinked at him.
"One step at a time" He reminded them.
Suddenly there was trouble, as the gang looked up to see the sleigh filled with gifts and everything start to slowly slide over the edge of the cliff.
"Look, up there!" David pointed out while everyone gasped in fear.
"Oh no. The sleigh. The presents. They'll be destroyed! And I care!" The Grinch said, before awkwardly saying. "What is the deal?"
The three teens just gave him that look before Kali said. "We got to do something!"
And with that, they quickly started climbing up to the top of Mount Crumpit as fast as they could.
"This can't happen! It shouldn't! It couldn't! It mustn't! It wouldn't!" The Grinch rushed up Mount Crumpit with the teens and Max. "Not now, not then, not ever again!"
When they got to the top the Grinch dove for the sleigh and grabbed the end of it, desperately trying to pull it back. The three teens came to help him, but it was no use.
"Oh, well" The Grinch shrugged his shoulders, giving up. "It's just toys, right?"
"You're kidding me, right?" Teeders gave the green reclusive creature that look in deadpan.
Just then, Cindy Lou and the remaining adventure kids appeared on top of the sleigh.
"Hi, Mr. Grinch!" Cindy Lou greeted with a smile.
"Cindy Lou!" The Grinch gasped.
"Brock! Ann!" Kali gasped at her younger twin siblings.
"Cynthia!" Teeders and David gasped at their friend.
"What are you doing up there?!" The Grinch cried out in a bit of fear.
"I came to see you" Cindy said. "No one should be alone on Christmas"
The Grinch then smiled warmly at the little Who girl, feeling touched while she smiled back at him. The adventure kids also smiled, as this was a warm and tender moment for everyone.
But that moment quickly ended as the sleigh continued to slide off the cliff and was almost over the edge, with Cynthia, the twins, and Cindy Lou still on it.
The Grinch gasped, seeing that lives were in danger. He was determined to save them and soon found the strength to pull the sleigh back up and lift it above his head, saving Cindy Lou and the others.
"I got you, Cindy Lou!" The Grinch cried out triumphantly.
"You did it!" Cindy cheered for the Grinch.
Cynthia and the twins slid down from the sleigh and everyone cheered while Max danced around in joy. David even spun Cynthia around before kissing her on the cheek which surprised everyone. Cynthia and David both blushed looking at each other, realizing what just happened and quickly looked away from each other.
The twins realized something as they saw their sister smile. "Kali, your Christmas spirit is back!"
"Oh, I wouldn't say I ever lost it for a moment. I'd just say it went out for a lunch break" The tomboy adventure girl smirked to her siblings.
The gang all laughed while they continued celebrating, as today was the most wonderful day of the year.
