Back in Whoville, at the Whobilation~
"Well, I guess the award goes to... the runner-up" The Mayor replied to the crowd since the Grinch didn't show up.
The other adventure kids all glowered at the mayor while they stood by Cindy.
But just then, everyone heard a rumbling sound and looked over to the garbage shoot where the Grinch flew out, followed by Kali and David who landed in the snow. The Grinch went flying all over the place, until he finally stopped straight into Martha May's bosom.
"Hello, Martha" The Grinch muttered.
"He made it!" Cindy Lou beamed.
"Cindy. Honey!" Her parents rushed over to keep their daughter close to them while the rest of the adventure kids came over to Kali and David as they got up.
The Grinch then looked to the Whos who seemed terrified seeing him up close after so long. The Grinch came up to the mayor then looked to the Whos again as everyone was in silence for a few moments.
The Grinch then let out a quiet "Boo" and all the Whos screamed, backing away. One or two of them even fainted.
"Oh, give me a break" David deadpanned to that.
"Hot crowd. Hot crowd" Cynthia muttered and the Grinch seemed to be doing the same.
"I believe I'm here to... accept an award of some kind..." The Grinch soon said to the Whos. "And... the children... mentioned a check"
"No, we didn't" Cindy and the adventure kids replied.
"Alright, then, give me the award" The Grinch demanded. "Come on! While I'm young!"
"Don't you worry, Mr. Holiday Cheer-meister, you'll get your award" The Mayor placed his hand on the Grinch's shoulder.
"But first, a little family reunion" The Mayor announced, taking the microphone. "They nursed you... They clothed you... Here they are, your old biddies!"
The Grinch grimaced at his two old caretakers. "Are you two still living?"
"We missed you!" Clarnella and Rose cooed as they came up to hug the Grinch.
Clarnella, Rose, and their friends soon got the Grinch dressed up in a festive Xmas sweater that said 'I love Xmas' much to his embarrassment.
"Put him in the Chair of Cheer!" A Who called out.
"Chair of Cheer? What's the Chair of Cheer?" The Grinch asked confused, looking to Cindy and the adventure kids. "You didn't tell me about the Chair of Cheer"
"Please, Mr. Grinch" Cindy Lou begged. "Please"
"No. I can't do it, honestly. I'm not ready" The Grinch told the Whos before they placed him in the Chair of Cheer. "It's too much, too soon!"
"It's that time of year. The Cheer-meister's ride in the Chair of Cheer!" The Mayor announced.
"Put me down! I mean it!" The Grinch warned the Whos. "I've got a lawyer! There'll be hell to pay!"
The adventure kids watched with Cindy as the Whobilation began, all hoping for the best for the Grinch even though it didn't seem that way yet.
The party went on, with the Grinch being the cheermeister, he had to participate in all the activities. From games, to food judging, an eggnog drinking contest, and a Xmas conga.
"He reminds me so much of Shrek" Teeders sighed, missing their old ogre friend.
The adventure kids then watched the Grinch get his face stuffed with fudge and eggnog.
"Perhaps a little too much" Cynthia cringed, watching the Grinch in total disgust.
There was even a potato sack race that the Grinch had won. Martha screamed a little in joy for him, but quickly calmed down realizing what she just did. Everyone cheered as they celebrated for the Grinch having won the race. The Grinch felt happier then he'd ever been, finally being accepted by the Whos.
"And now it's time for the moment we've all been waiting for" The Mayor announced.
"Ah, yes! My award" The Grinch declared before whispering to the mayor. "And the check"
"There's no check" The Mayor told him.
"Are you sure?" The Grinch asked before coming up to Martha. "Because I thought I heard someone mention a check"
The adventure kids rolled their eyes at the Grinch for being a tad annoying, but also funny just like that movie actor Jim Carrey.
"And now it's time for Present Pass-it-on!" The Mayor then announced. "As always, we start with our Cheer-meister"
The Mayor's assistant then handed the Grinch a present which he happily opened until realizing it was a razor.
"The gift of a Christmas shave" The Mayor smirked.
The adventure kids glared at the mayor for the gift while the Grinch appeared to have rage in his eyes, thinking back to the painful humiliation memory of his childhood.
"Ah, yes... Good times... Good times" The Mayor smiled to the Grinch, patting him on the shoulder with a light chuckle.
"And now, I have a little something for the love of my life" The Mayor got down on one knee in front of Martha and opened a small box with a diamond ring inside. "Martha May... please become Mrs. Augustus May-Who"
Everyone gasped while the adventure kids felt things where about to take a turn for the worst.
"Augustus..." Martha gasped.
"If you agree to be my wife, along with a lifetime supply of happiness, you'll also receive this" The Mayor then took the microphone and announced like a game show host. "It's a new car! Generously provided by the taxpayers of Whoville!"
The adventure kids all rolled their eyes at the Mayor, thinking that he was acting truly ridiculous.
"What do you say, Martha?" The Mayor asked. "You got twenty seconds on the clock"
"W-Well... I..." Martha stammered. "These gifts are quite dazzling"
Suddenly, everyone heard the most ear-piercing sound as the Grinch scratched against the car with his finger.
"Of course they are" The Grinch snarled, glaring at the Mayor.
"That's what it's all about, isn't it?" The hairy green creature smiled before yelling out in anger at the Whos. "That's what it's always been about!"
"Gifts. Gifts... Gifts, gifts, gifts, gifts, gifts! You want to know what happens to your gifts? They all come to me. In your garbage. You see what I'm saying? In your garbage! I could hang myself with all the bad Christmas neckties I've found!"
"And the avarice never ends! 'I want golf clubs! I want diamonds! I want a pony, so I can ride it twice, get bored, and sell it to make glue!'"
"Look, I don't want to make waves" The Grinch continued as he growled. "But this whole Christmas season is... Stupid, stupid, stupid!"
"There is however... one teeny-tiny Christmas tradition... I find quite meaningful..." The Grinch then snatched the mistletoe from Martha. "Mistletoe"
"Now pucker up and kiss it, Whoville!" The Grinch dangled the mistletoe over his butt.
Martha then fainted and Cynthia almost did herself too as the adventure kids watched the Grinch go on a rampage through Whoville, sending all the Whos into chaos. Cindy felt bad while her parents took her away from the danger.
The adventure kids watched as the Grinch took the razor and shaved the mayor's hair right off his head. "Somebody's fabulous!"
"He deserved that!" The twins told the older adventure kids, referring to the mayor getting his hair shaved off.
"Damn right!" Cynthia agreed, while the rest of gang suddenly looked to their polite fashionista lady-like friend, surprised that she cursed.
The Grinch eventually burned down the Xmas tree in the center of town hall while all of the Whos watched in horror. The Grinch then made his exit, thinking he had ruined the Whos' Xmas spirit.
The aftermath was pretty grim as the tree had been burned to the ground and the mayor came over to Lou. "Lou. I'm hurt, and I don't hurt easily"
"But you and your family... I'm just... so disappointed" The mayor looked to Cindy Lou, shaming her for inviting the Grinch.
"Can we just get back to Christmas, the way it should be? Grinch-less?" The Mayor told the crowd. "Merry Christmas!"
"Merry Christmas!" The Whos went back to being the merry Whos they were with their Xmas spirit.
The adventure kids all glared at the mayor for being heartless and blaming Cindy for this whole thing. The twins were even so upset that they wanted to punch that ugly smirk right off the mayor's face, but the others held them back telling them it was not worth it.
"I just wanted everybody to be together for Christmas" Cindy said to her family in tears.
The adventure kids frowned, feeling sorry for both Cindy and the Grinch, until Kali spoke up.
"Follow me gang, I got an idea" The adventurous tomboy led her gang away from the crowds.
The other adventure kids all looked to each other in questioning, but soon followed their leader out of Whoville.
