Samy's POV

The nights were restless, with me zoning in and out of sleep and dreams constantly.

Next day was the actual wedding function. I couldn't sleep properly and was waging a war with the pillows to find that comfortable spot. At that moment, I felt someone's hand on my back.

"I am dreaming about Sid again." I thought drifting in and out of dreams. His hand was crawling up my shoulder very slowly.

"Sid, you lazy idiot, little bit harder. I can hardly feel you." I cursed Sid, as his hand reached the top of my shoulder and slowly started sliding down towards my chest. And then it stopped again.

"Shit, you are so slow today. I know your destination Sid. Just move the fuck and get on with it. Finish it soon .. I need to sleep Sid." I was pissed at his laziness, and eagerly waiting for him to do his magic.

After a lifetime, he finally made it to his destination, but as his hand touched my breast, I didn't feel the usual rush of blood or the thrill of my racing heartbeat.

"Fuck you Sid, you are losing your touch!", I screamed at him inside my mind and opened my eyes catching bis hand.

As I turned around, I realized I was holding a real hand. It was Samira.

I had no idea when she got into my bed and put her hand on me. As many guests showed up for the wedding, she probably gave up her room and moved in with me. I looked at her tired face, sleeping peacefully and moved in closer, putting her hand around my waist.

It was probably a bad idea, because after a while she put her leg over me and murmured something in some alien language. She probably was dreaming about someone. I tried to stay awake to see if she would say his name, but it didn't happen.

The news of Sid's resignation hit me very hard. Even though I convinced myself to ignore Sid and get over him by looking for a new job, I couldn't stop myself from thinking about him.

The wedding function was going very well. Only problem was me. I was going through the motion of enjoying myself, but in fact, I was walking like a headless zombie, just moving the body parts to act like the part of happy me.

I overdid everything to tire myself from the tasks and hoping the physical exhaustion would bring in sound dreamless sleep. I was waging a war with myself to enforce peace within my heart.

Kashyap was closely following me all the time  trying to decode my face and get to the bottom of the mystery illness I was battling, but I didn't discuss 'Sid' with anyone. He was my mystery illness.

"Samantha, What's going on? You are being aloof and seem to be fighting an invisible ghost on your own." Kash cornered me on the balcony as I was lost in thought looking at the beautiful full moon in the night sky.

"Kash, you don't give up? Do you?" I asked forcing a smile.

"Hey! what are friends for? Care to share your problems. I do have some special medicine capable of curing any problems." He asked winking his eyes.

"Kash thanks for trying to help, but the issues are job related and am sure your magical medicine won't cure my problem." I turned around to face him and at the same moment, I saw Samira watching both us from the living room window. In fact, not both of us, only Kash.

It was like a triangle. Samira was looking at Kash, Kash was looking at me and I was looking at Samira.

I knew that look. Samira was watching Kash intently and it was clear that she likes him and wanted him. Unfortunately Kash was after me and I was still recovering from Sid and God only knows if I will ever recover.

At that moment an idea struck me and I decided to try to bring Kash and Samira together, if that was possible. I knew if I could divert Kash's attention away from me and towards Samira, then at least they have a healthy chance to succeed. They would make a great pair.

"Kash, lets go out and get some coffee. I need a break from this wedding party." I suggested to Kash.

"That should be the spirit. Lets go." I knew what he was thinking.

"I will meet you downstairs in five minutes." I patted his shoulder and went inside to find Samira.

"Samira, common lets get ready. We are going out for coffee." I pulled her upstairs.

"Really .. What's up with the sudden change in mood?"

"Nothing .. get ready. Here wear my earrings today .. they suit you better." I then quickly changed her hairstyle and makeup to suit my earrings. I knew Kash liked them, earlier when I had the earrings on, he was constantly checking  them out.

"Maybe he has a fetish for earrings." I thought inside adjusting Samira's hair. (A/N: Know anyone?)

By the time we were done dressing up and went downstairs, Kash was ready and waiting for me.

I watched his face as were coming down the stairs.

I noticed a little annoyance as his face turned little red from cringing his facial muscles, noticing I wasn't coming alone and bringing Samira with me.

Then he turned towards Samira and looking at her, his eyes went wide with surprise and lingered on her till we reached the bottom of stairs, breaking the two second casual look rule.

Of course Samira was blushing end to end and I had to hold her hand to make she wouldn't tumble down the stairs or float away towards the ceiling.

The three of was walked to the nearest coffee shop and ordered our choices, taking up an empty table. We started chatting about the wedding and guests.

Since they both were outsiders and I was family, I ended up explaining about my cousins and how we were related to the bride and family. Large Indian families can be confusing to anyone.

Just then my phone started buzzing. I excused myself taking the opportunity to leave them alone and went out to take the call. It was Payal.

"Samy, you left me here alone and went to wedding without me. Are you having lot of fun?"

"Payal! How you doing? Would have been lot more fun if you had joined me."

"Hey! I got more details about your boyfriend and the encounter you both had with the mafia gang."

"Is it good or bad? And for your information he is not my boyfriend"

"Its not good Samy. The goon who encountered you is known as Munna, son of mafia don Baba. One of our inspectors went to the hospital where Munna was receiving treatment and tried to take a statement about the attacker."

"OMG! Really"

"Yes, but mafia don Baba came there with his bodyguards and refused to give any details. He told the inspector to back away from the case. He said they will deal with it themselves in mafia style."

"Payal, do they know it was us?"  I asked as fear started building inside me.

"I don't think so. Luckily for you they didn't get the full licence plate for Sid's motor bike. From what we know they have the first three letters of the license plate and are going through the database for all motorbikes with those three letters to identify you guys."

"This is not good."

"Don't worry, it will take them some time to identify Sid through the registration process and only if Sid gives out your name, they can identify you."

"Will Sid sell me out?"

"I don't think so, from what you told me, he is not that type. But don't be around him for the next few weeks, till this whole thing gets sorted out. Be careful and watch your surroundings for any suspicious people. Call me immediately if you sense any trouble."

"Don't worry, he resigned from our company, so I may never see him again."

"That is good news. As long as you stay away from him, you should be good."

"Thanks Payal." I wasn't happy about the whole situation. Eventhough I was safe for the moment, Sid's life was in danger.

"I should warn him", I thought, but he wasn't picking my calls. I decided to find a way to warn him before my trip to Singapore.

I returned back to our table and noticed Kash and Samira didn't miss me at all. They were chatting away happily.

We returned back to the wedding hall. Kash started following me again, so I decided to increase the dosage this time and started looking for an suitable opportunity.

The earrings did the trick, but it wasn't enough. I started to look for something stronger to shake his mind.

The opportunity presented itself. After our dance presentation, Samira was showing one of my cousins the step she missed during our show and in the process fell down and hurt her thigh.

I immediately took a cloth napkin and tied it around her thigh to stop the bleeding as my cousin ran to get some help. My aunt, who was also an doctor came running with the first aid kit.

I meanwhile texted Kash to come over asap.

I took the first aid kit from my aunt and asked her to leave.

"Samy, the wound needs to be bandaged. Let me take care of her." My aunt started to make her way towards Samira.

"You go, I called someone else. Go .. move .. move." I started to push her away as Kash came in.

"What the hell!  .. OMG! .. You naughty girl! .. I will take care of you later." My aunt caught me by my ear as I pushed her out. She got the message looking at Kash rushing to Samira.

"Ok, I will explain later." I begged her.

I went back in as Kash sat in front of Samira and she was hesitating to pull up her dress to show him the wound.

"Its okay, he is a doctor." I whispered in her ear and told him to go ahead.

Kash slowly and carefully folded her dress upto her thighs and removed the napkin. I watched him and noticed the tension on his face as he swallowed hard and cleaned her wound properly, trying to avoid his fingers touching her bare skin.

Samira squeezed my hand as he worked around the wound and started putting a  bandage on it. After a little while she got comfortable and released my hand and I slipped out of the room, hoping this should turn him on towards Samira.

"Samy! Call for you." My cousin shouted as I exited the room.

I went towards the house phone, wondering who woild call me on that number.

"Samy .. Samy .. it's me Sonia. I tried your phone and Sasi's phone, but no one is picking up. I know you guys are busy, but I am stuck at the airport."

"Aha .." I answered, wondering who Sonia was, as I didn't know anyone with that name.

"Listen Samy .. tell Sas I can't make it to her wedding. I wish I was there with you guys, just like our college days."

"Hey, one second .. " I realized she wanted to talk to Samira, the other Samy, not me.

"No .. Listen I got to go .. is Sas marrying  her sweetheart Sid?"

"What!" I couldn't believe what I heard.

"Sorry .. got to go now. I will call later again." She disconnected as I heard someone calling her name in the background.

I stood there unable to move.
