"Ruyi"
Wu Jian's voice came out in a faint whisper.
"Ruyi..."
His calls was only met with silence. In sorrow, Jumao watched as the young Prince continues to call for his Wang Fei. For a long time, the room held no sound. In tears, Jumao watched her master staring at the cold white body. When it became unbearable to watch, Jumao slowly went to take the baby from Ruyi's arms.
Cry!
The baby suddenly let out a sharp cry when Jumao lifted him from his mother's cold embrace. Startled, Jumao nearly dropped the child but Wu Jian took him quickly from her arms. The silent room suddenly was filled with the loud infant cry.
"Don't cry... mother is here..."
Stunned, Jumao and Wu Jian looked at Ruyi who eyes was not opened.
"Ruyi"
Wu Jian heart trembled as he held the crying infant in his arms.
"Ruyi, wake up. The baby is crying"
Just like that, Ruyi's eyes fluttered opened. With a small smile, she lifted her hand and the crying baby grabbed hold of her finger. As soon as he touched his mother, the child stopped crying and stilled. If not for his tight hold of his mother's finger, they would have thought the baby was again, lifeless.
"Ruyi"
Wu Jian heart could not bear it anymore. Passing the child to Jumao, he let the child cry out at the separation from his mother. At the moment, Wu Jian was the one who needed to hold Ruyi.
"Ruyi" He pressed a kiss on her forehead.
"Jian..."
"I know you're tired" He could see it in her eyes. "Rest"
Once her eyes were closed, Wu Jian wrapped her tightly in a clean white sheet and lifted her up into his arms. He left no part of her exposed while he held her protectively in his arms. When he left the room, Jumao held the crying little prince and quickly followed after.
"Jian"
Everyone - including the Emperor and Crown Prince, were all waiting outside in the main quarter. Moments ago, they had fear the worst when the midwife all came out pale white. No one dared to speak even though the Empress questioned them. Taking their silence as terrible ending, the Empress spoke no more. That is until they heard the sudden cry of a baby. Before anyone could feel relief, Prince Wu Jian came out holding a tightly wrapped Ruyi in his arms. Although no one could see her, they knew it was Ruyi in Wu Jian's arms.
"We're leaving" Wu Jian spoke coldly - his eyes met no one as he strode out.
"Jian! Your Wang Fei just gave birth" The Empress panicked when she saw Jumao holding the crying baby in her arms. "She needs to recover. You cannot take her out like this"
"Ming!" Wu Jian called out.
There wasn't one masked guards that appeared but over twenty. Prince Wu Jian no longer put anyone in his eyes. Even with the presence of the Emperor, Wu Jian ordered his masked guards to clear his path.
"Kill anyone who stops me from leaving"
The Empress was stunned at the cruel and brutal words.
"Jian_"
He walked off coldly - not once did he look at the Empress when she called after him.
