Hi all!
It's a celebration, another block party for the summer!!
I'm so grateful and excited to be apart of the block party, thank you so much Kelly! Also I'm so happy to see new and familiar writers this month!
This post is a bit different from my last posts. Olivia and Damien, Night Drives, are having a one on one session with their group leader Ms. Donavan. There is a chapter where Damien and Olivia had a huge argument, haven't spoken in days. Hearing wind of it from one of the students Ms. Donavan has planned to meet up, three of them alone to talk it out and reconcile.
(Damien, Ms. Donavan and Olivia in a circle on the ground in the well lit room. Soft music playing for tranquility. Ms. Donavan sighed out and smiled at the two students)
Ms. Donavan: so which one of you like to start? Tell me what happened.
(Silence. Olivia glared at Damien arms crossed and looked away. Damien sputtered her lips already annoyed but winced in pain from his jaw, opening his mouth to reset it.)
Ms. Donavan: are we gonna discuss this telepathically? (laughed awkwardly, playing with her pen on her notepad)
Olivia: I can start. He's a d**k.
Damien:(smirked) real nice.
Olivia: I'm always nice
Damien: not from last light when you clocked my jaw.
Olivia: you deserved it!
Ms. Donavan: ok enough you two! There's is supposed to be tolerance in this group. No fighting or arguing Now this is a reconciliation conversation
Damien: we didn't fight in the group, we fought in my apartment
Olivia: yes, after you accused me of being a slut.
Damien: I didn't say that.
Ms. D: Damien!
O: your exact words were 'only slutty girls let guys like him slide their fingers in you.
D: well the girls that I've been with it were that easy.
Ms. D: Whoa hey!
O: how do you know they were? They probably just wanted a good time or something more.
D: who cares about that? Its just sex.
O: and I didn't have sex with him. It was one time and he was my tutor in high school. How would I know you guys are friends? Why do you care anyway?
D: I dont.
O: good.
D: good.
(a few seconds of another awkward silence as they turned away, so thick it could be cut with a machete)
Ms. Ok. Progress. Let the anger out to bring in the peace. Damien, you should know better than to slut shame any girl you meet. And Olivia, violence is never the answer.
O: it is when the person is a douchebag.
D: whatever
Ms. D: there is a lot of tension right now but it can be resolved with kind words and a mantra.
D: a mantra? Woosa! There, I feel great! (Shrugged and chuckled)
O: (scoffing disgusted by his behavior) I'm done. (standing from the ground and walking out fast.)
Ms. D: wait Olivia!
( the door slammed shut as she exited, Ms. Donavan winced)
D: great chat Pam. (Gives her a thumbs up and stood up on his feet)
Ms. D: you two need to work this out.
D: It's no big deal. She'll get over it.
Ms. D: are you sure? Go apologize.
D: I dont do that.
Ms. D: well you're gonna have to learn
(Damien rolled his eyes and pursed his lips, shaking his head and left the room)
So that didn't go as Ms. Donavan wanted. Olivia is so stubborn and Damien is a jerk. However Olivia and Damien will not be mad for long, a little kiss action and so much more between the two.
Also introducing a new story I have in the works that is coming soon! Here's the summary:
Six months. One project. Two English students that barely know each other partnered to create a mock bestseller.
