Hello, this is 1137xyz aka Hafsa. I'm super excited to share with you all my first spoken word poetry performance. I'm including the poem as well as the video of the performance for those who like to read and view both, or either of it!
You are standing in the middle of a circus,
The ringmaster is directing you to perform so many different parts,
You are the performer
You are the animal
You are the equipment
You are the clown
The ringmaster whips you,
Ordering you, what you should be doing.
Where you should be standing.
Apparently, you being a performer
The animal, the equipment & the clown,
Has agreed to pay attention, to obey, to behave, to entertain.
You've to walk on a tightrope,
You've to jump through the hoops
You've to balance on pedestals
You've to juggle & toss the balls
You've to be the clown &
Worst of all you can't make this funny
You want everything to go well
But you cannot do every job
You mess it up
You experience a sunken feeling in the pit of your stomach
A whirlwind of emotions crippling your mind
Nothing is happening as it should,
How it should, where it should, when it should.
No! Stop it!
Learn to say "NO"
