Chapter One

The music blared as I pulled my hat lower and leaned against the bar.

Lifting my drink to my lips, I sighed and let the cheap beer slide down my throat.

"Still good?"

I spun around to see Kasson with his arm draped over the shoulder of a cute blonde wearing a tiny white dress.

Nodding, I kept my gaze low. It wouldn't have been the first time that Kasson tried to hook up with some girl at the bar only to have her recognize me and scream my name at the top of her lungs.

He didn't get another word in before she pulled him back on to the dance floor.

Sighing, I tipped the cup back and finished the beer in a single swallow. I rarely went to a club or even a bar without the cloud of fame hanging over my head. I'd usually get away with it a few weeks before we officially started filming, but once my picture had been splashed across everything from blogs to the local newspapers, I was screwed.

"Want another?" asked the bartender.

"Ah, sure," I said, handing her the empty cup. "Tab is under Kasson Parker."

She nodded, filled a new cup, and slid it to me across the bar.

Turning around, I let my eyes scan the dance floor. There were your typical guys trying to score with any girl that would take them, then there were the groups of girls dancing in a small circle, and my personal favorites, the people who didn't care what anyone else thought and gyrated across the dance floor without any inhibitions.

As the music continued to blast from the speakers, the lights lowered and the DJ announced last call.

Groans from the dance floor quickly disappeared as Pharrell's latest track came on. My head began to bob as the track blared over the speakers, that's when I saw her. Dancing by herself in the middle of the dance floor, her long chestnut hair swayed as her hips hit every beat.

I felt a hand tug on my shoulder. "Wanna dance," a voice purred into my ear.

"I'm good," I said, not making eye contact and trying to keep my voice low.
