I watched it fade.
Saw every crack.
Noticed every blur
when it was too late.
His hope and her love;
our age and your respect.
I remembered
as you dreamed to forget.
We watched the image
succumbed to time.
Slowly
it aged,
crinkled,
and washed out.
Until it was no more.
