It's been 2 days since the whole incident with Malia and I was still pissed. She was still borrowing my clothes and makeup and still hanging around Cameron's shoulder.
Cameron didn't seem to mind although he did propose never to talk to her again. Man I should've said yes.
I checked my phone and saw that Cameron texted me.
Ready to go?- Cameron
I walked down to where he was and he had a bag packed with him.
"Where are we going?", I asked.
"It's a surprise, you'll find out when you get there".
We hopped into his car and he drove off.
"Malia told me she was sorry for thinking that you would do that", he mentioned.
"Yeah I forgave her for that", I lied.
He still had no clue that Malia was mocking me and trying to get with him. He was clueless and I couldn't do a thing.
"It's nice that you forgave her. She made a mistake and she owned up to it", he praised her.
"Yup".
He put on the radio for us to enjoy the ride. I had no idea where we were going so I decided to take a nap until we got there.
"Wake up", Cameron said tapping on me.
When I opened my eyes I saw the front of Cameron's house.
"What are we doing here?".
"You'll see", he said walking me in.
When we walked in I saw his mother and two other people sitting at the table.
"Cameron", his mom yelled as she ran up to him hugging him.
"Hi Mom", he said welcoming her with open arms.
I stood there awkwardly as they hugged and I was confused over what was going on.
"Mom this is Kat", he said as she shook my hand.
"You are so pretty. I think I've met you before", she said looking me up and down.
She did meet me before. It was the day that Cameron and I had our first kiss.
"Cameron, I'm home", his mother said as she walked out of the house."Hey mom", he said disconnecting our lips again but quickly this time."Sorry I didn't mean to interrupt- wait is this your girlfriend Ellie?", she asked referring to me."Oh um n-", I was saying until Cameron interrupted me."Yeah, yes it is", he said grabbing my hand."Well it's nice to finally meet you, my name's Gina", he said extending her hand to me."K- Ellie", I said stopping myself."Wow Cam she's gorgeous, I think you picked a pretty nice girl", Gina said.
"Mhm thanks mom", he said in a guilty tone as his voice started to crack"Ellie, would you like to join us for dinner?", she asked."I was actually on my way out", I said quickly getting up.
"N-no you didn't mom", he stuttered knowing that if he told her he cheated she's beat his ass.
He looked over at me signaling not to say anything to her.
"Let's eat", she said leading us to the table as Cameron grabbed my hand.
"Kat this is my older sister Sierra and her boyfriend Brent", he said introducing us.
I waved at them as I sat down nervously.
"So Kat you went to Chino with Cameron right ?", Gina asked.
"Yeah it was great there".
"Yeah not really", Cameron laughed trying to play it off
"Wow, do you have a younger brother by any chance?".
"Yeah his name's Dakota".
"Oh I knew it, see I told you it was gonna be his sister", she smiled hitting her daughter playfully.
"Did you play any sports or participate in any extracurricular activities?"
"Mom this isn't 21 questions", Cameron laughed trying to get his mom from talking less.
"I just want to get to know her a little better", she said calling him down.
"Yeah I was the captain of the softball team".
"Wow", Gina and Sierra said in unison.
"Were you and my brother friends last year?", Sierra asked.
"We were very good friends". Cameron smirked looking at me.
"Are you playing softball at UCLA?", Brent asked.
"Yeah. It's gonna be so much more different then high school softball".
"Yeah making the switch from high school to college was hard for me. How are you holding up?", Sierra asked.
"It was hard at first but I'm starting to get used to the change and all".
"So are you two dating?", Gina asked as Cameron choked on his water.
I looked over at a choking Cameron as he signaled at me to ignore the question. I didn't want to be rude and ignore the question so I gave her the honest truth.
"Nope, we're just good friends", I smiled.
"That's too bad, Cameron needs a girl like you in his life".
"Mom-".
"What? I'm just saying Cam".
I laughed at the fact that he was embarrassed. The rest of the dinner went great. It was less awkward then I expected it to be but it was great.
When we finished eating Cameron and I went up to his room to talk.
"So how did you like meeting my family?", he blushed.
"They're really nice and funny people. Especially your mom", I laughed.
"Yeah yeah she can be a little crazy".
"But it was still great".
He looked down at the ground for a second before he picked his head back up.
"Kat I need to tell you something and it's been on my mind for a long time", he said very nervously. I could see his Adam's apple move up and down.
I couldn't help but feel nervous about what he was gonna say.
"We've been through so much and I'm really happy with you. I never thought that I could ever feel the feelings I feel when I'm with you . I love you Kat", he said looking into my eyes.
I felt my heart beating fast and heavy after he said that. He finally gave me the reassurance I needed.
"I love you too", I whispered back.
I couldn't help but smile at him as we were admitting our feelings.
"The point is I don't wanna just be good friends, I wanna be more than that. I know that we've been waiting for this moment and I just felt like this was the time to ask you if you wanna be my girlfriend", he asked breathing hard grabbing my hand.
"Yes but only on one condition", I said.
"What?", he groaned.
"I still want a chocolate frosted donut with rainbow sprinkles everyday", I pouted.
"Always ", he said placing a soft kiss on my neck.
"Also can we promise that nothing will get in the way of us. That'll we'll talk to one another if there's a problem".
"I can promise that a million times, I know that we've been through a lot and I'm not gonna let people like Nash or Bryce ruin that for us, okay?"
"Okay", I said as he kissed my lips softly.
"We should do something, what do you wanna do?"
"I don't know it's your house."
"Well my mom, my sister, and her boyfriend left, do you wanna go swimming?"
"Sure but I don't have a bathing suit"
"Well you could swim with out one" he smirked as I shot him a dirty look. "Or maybe I can just give you yours" he said pulling one of my bathing suits from his bag.
"Where did you get that?" "Ellie gave it to me yesterday, she said you look the best in this one so I couldn't refuse to take it" "Wow so now you expect Ellie to help you get things" "well did you want me to break into your dorm, I mean I do know where the spare key is" "How?" "Ellie showed me where it was after you got wasted" "oh yeah I still hate Brett for that", I said "You mean Bryce?" "Yeah whatever his name is" "Looks like I have an affect on you" "guess so" "Go get dressed before you have an affect on me", he winked.
After I got dressed I quickly made my way outside. The pool looked exactly the way it did that night, all colorful and clear. The night sky reflected on the water which made it prettier.
"Looks like Ellie was right" He said coming from behind. "About what"? "That bathing suit ok you."
"You know, I could kill for nights like these" he said wrapping his arms around me. I felt his body on mine which also gave me a sense of protection.
"Me too, I'm with my boyfriend and sky is clear" "I agree, but you know what's even more fun....? This" he said jumping into the pool.
"Ugh Cam you got me wet", I yelled getting up. "That was the point kitty" "it's so cold", I shivered. "Not really, you get used to it after awhile" "Don't lie, I'm not trying to get sick" "You won't trust me".
"Shit I forgot to take off my bracelet", he said looking down at his arm. "You don't wear a bracelet." Yeah I do, Kat can you take it off of me?". As he lifted up his wrist and I didn't see anything. He then grabbed my hand and pulled me in.
"Cameron!" I screamed as he walked out of the pool. "Looks like you got tricked" he said walking towards a table where his drink was sitting. I snuck out while he wasn't looking and as soon ad he walked toward the pool I pushed him in.
"Katerina!" He screamed. "Get my name right and then I'll listen to you.", I said sassy. "Ok it's my turn you're listening to me now" he said grabbing onto my ankle. "What?", I asked trying to balance on one foot. "Let's have some fun" he said pulling me back into the pool.
As soon as I was pushed in I floated back up really fast with hair in my face. "Let me help you" he said pushing my hair out of my face. "You look prettier this way" he said grabbing my body. "And you look better this way" I said also pushing his hair out of his face.
"Everything tonight went way better than expected" he said with a big smile of his face. "Thanks for this, I like being back in Chino". "Well don't get used to this, we go back tomorrow morning" "Well that's okay, my parents and brother went on vacation so I won't miss seeing them".
"Good, I just wanted to make sure that you were happy and I wanted to go back to where we started", he said holding my hand. "I am and I'm super happy with you, I never went this feeling to go away". "Good" he said holding me tight.
After we just talked and swam around for awhile until we heard thunder. "Really?, the sky was just clear", Cameron said helping me out of the pool. "Anything can happen", I shrugged "You're right" he said wrapping a towel around me. "Well let's head inside before it starts to rain", he opened the door to the house.
"Are you hungry? My mom made cookies before she went to work". "I'm fine". "No you aren't" he said stuffing a cookie in my mouth.
"You can shower in my sisters old room , everything you need is in there. And my mom left a note for you in there. She thought you were gonna sleep in there but you aren't", he smirked.
That smirk killed me. He wasn't always asking for a "favor" when he smirked but it made me blush when he did it.
"What am I supposed to wear to sleep?", I asked before entering the bathroom. "Oh, I kinda forgot about that, I'll bring you something and leave it by the door", he nodded.
After showering, taking my makeup off, and doing my night time routine I went to his room. He was still in the shower so I got under the covers and made myself comfortable. I changed the channel and turned on 10 Things I Hate About You.
"Are you asleep yet?", he asked as I quickly closed my eyes before he could see me. He leaned over me and kissed the top of my head while I was "sleeping".
"Not yet", I jolted up.
"You really got me there", he said getting under the covers.
"Of course I did."
"Something tells me that you and I are gonna last awhile", he joked.
"Maybe, and then again maybe not", I joked back.
I turned off the tv as I was falling asleep. As I was closing my eyes, my name was called.
"Yes?", I asked rolling to my side to talk to Cameron.
"I love you".
"I love you too", I said as he wrapped his arms around me.
