Later that day, we all went home with different emotions roaming within us, dad was clearly angry, Jane ashamed and scared, I on the other hand, wasn't completely sure of what I was feeling, I had mixed emotions of the event that took place less than an hour ago
When we got home it was clear we all needed to cleanse ourselfs, both physically and emotional
First, Jane had to talk to Dad, probably so he could get a hold of her parent.
I took the opportunity to take a quick shower and treat my self, I had scratchs on my knuckles and a bruise on my face, just below my eyes, nothing alittle rest and Ice can't fix
Jane entered the room just as I came out of the shower, with a towel still wrapped around my body
"Sorry, your dad told me to come Here" she said averting her eyes and leaving
"It's ok, come in"
"Thanks" she said
Looking at her now, I could see she was in a lot of pain both physically and emotionally, her face was swollen, her eyes red from tears and her hands still slightly trembling
"Er erhm" I cleared my throat
"The shower is ready, and there's still alot of hot water left"
"Th- thanks"
"Yeah.. erm, you need to get out of those clothes, so erm I'll leave something out for you on the bed"
"T-hanks, excuse me" she went into the bathroom with the extra towel
I sighed, thats the first time I've gotten three 'thanks' in less than a minute
After I got dressed, I left some clothes for her on the bed, then I got the first aid box from under the bed and left it for her to see when she comes out
Yes yes, its weird that I have a first aid box under my bed, well dad thought it would be safe to have atleast five different first aid boxes placed separately in the house, my room was one of those places..
After placing the box I decided to leave the room, she probably needed some privacy
Well I guess I'd better go downstairs
I can't believe I'm going to be sleeping in the same room as Jane, If someone had told me yesterday that this day would come, I would have probably spat on the person's face..
I guess thats how the world is, no one can predict tomor-
"What!!" I heard dad yell from the stair way
He was talking on the phone
"How can you say that, did you see the poor girl's face-"
He was quiet, probably interrupted by the person on the other side of the call
"What about my daughter, she was there"
Silence again
"Thats absurd!!"
Silence
"She would never do that-"
"Ok, what if we-"
Silence
"Shit!, ok fine, just get back to me if there's any news"
Now I was by the door, waiting for him to finish his call
"Yes, I will do the same, thank you" dad said before ending the call
"Shit" he cursed
I sat on the stairs, waiting for him to finish his call, which lasted for almost twenty minutes,
"Dad?" I called out, when he was finally done,
I probably startled him
"Oh honey, I didn't see you there" he said alittle startled
"Sorry, I overhead your conversation, whats wrong, who was that"
He sighed again "it was the cops, they said the boy claims your friend Jane is lying"
"What!! But she's not!!"
"Yes, I know that honey"
"Ok fine, what about me, I was there, I can be like a witness or something"
"They said they also used that one, and he said you two are close friends and that you planed it together"
"What! That is crazy!!, we aren't friends, we don't even like each ot- I mean.. that's crazy"
Woah.. Amy tame your tongue
"Ok, what about her face? or is he also going to say I'm a sick psychopath who did that to my 'friend' just to get him in trouble?"
Dad looked down, as if agreeing with me
"Wait, they said he said that too?!" I asked
"Well not in those exact words, but yes, something along the line"
"Are you kidding me" the absurdity clear in my voice
"The cops aren't buying it, but there is nothing to prove him otherwise"
"That slimy snake!"
"What's wrong?" Jane asked as she entered the living room
She looked alot better now, her face was still swollen but now fresh and her injuries where properly treated, guess she found the first aid kit,
I sighed "it's the cop, they said what's-his-face claims we planed this and are trying to set him up"
"What!! That's not true, he's lying" both fear and anger in her voice
"Tell me about it"
"Are they going to let him go" this time all i sensed was fear in her voice
" they said They can only keep him in the cell for a day, if they can't find concrete evidence by this time tomorrow they'll have to let him go, and seeing as we don't have anything concrete like a picture or video he's as good as free" dad said
"Video? Video!!... I almost forgot, my phone.. I have proof on my phone" I quickly reached into my pocket and brought it out
"I knew something like this would happen so I turned on my camera before confronting him" I said before handing dad my phone
"What!, that's great let me see we ca-" we both instinctively turned to Jane
She hugged herself "it's alright, go ahead"
Dad cleared his throat "eh ehm" "don't worry I'll look at it later, you two are probably hungry, I made lasagne, we can talk about this after dinner"
After dinner I sent dad the video then I went upstairs to prepare, luckily we had extra duvet and pillows so I laid it on the floor, right next to the bed.
Jane and dad were still trying to get a hold of her parents, apparently because of the time difference it was hard to reach them
"All set" I said to them
"Ok.. that's good, I think it's time we call it a night, you both have had a long day, you should rest" dad said as he got up
"Yeah, good night dad"
"Night honey"
"Good night sir, thank you again"
When we got to the room i already had the blanket laid on the floor, and before you start thinking anything, no I wasn't planning on letting Jane sleep on the floor, I'm not that mean..
"Take the bed" I said as I laid on the floor
"What no, it's fine I can sleep on the floor, i don't want to impose" she protested
"It's alright, I like the floor, it's soft and cozy" I lied
"I think you're describing the bed"
I chuckled "good night Jane"
"Amy, thank you for today, I know I haven't said it official"
I remained quiet
"I know, if I were in your shoes I wouldn't do the same"
Trust me I know
"I would have probably recorded it and posted it, like a bitch, but you- you didn't, you helped me instead, thank you"
"Yeah..."
what?, I don't know what else to say to that, I'm not going to lie and say 'oh sweet Jane, that's not true' cus it is
"Good night Jane" I said again
Then we both fell quiet...
An hour later
I've been tusing and turning all night, soft and cozy my ass, It feels like I'm sleeping on hard rock, how on earth did Drew manage to sleep here... OH MY GOSH!, I'm sleeping on the exact spot Drew slept, Does this mean Drew and I are sle-
"Amy.." Jane thankfully stoped me from going into a dark place.. wow Amy, just wow, what the fuck is wrong with you?
"Amy, are you up?" she whispered
I cleared my throat "erm, yeah, I'm up, what's wrong?"
"I can't sleep" she whispered again
Me too Jane, me too, but I'm sure for different reasons,
She fell quiet, after a while she spoke again "c-can I sleep with you?"
What tha? What? am I dreaming right now?, or did Jane just ask if she could sleep next to me,
"Erm.. s-sure, why not" it sounded almost like a question,
"Thank you" she grabbed a pillow and before I knew it she was next to me, I didn't have time to process what was happening before she hugged me and buried her head in my neck,
I was obviously in shock, and laid still as iron, what the fuck is happening?
All of a sudden, I felt something cold drop on my neck, then it registered,
She was crying, this made me relax, the poor girl was in pain, I gently rapped my hands around her, I patted her head trying to calm her down, and whispered "don't worry, you will be fine"
She sobbed even louder and hugged me tighter, I kept patting her, telling her "it's okay" and "you're okay", then I hummed one of the songs my mom used to sing to me when I was younger and was bullied,
After a while, she stopped crying, I don't know if it was because she had no tears left to spear or because she began to slip into sleep, but I was glad she finally stopped,
I could slowly feel myself sliping too, and before I let the darkness engulf me, I wondered to myself..
'why didn't we share the bed instead'

I woke up with a stiff neck the next morning, and carefully got out of bed sorry floor, trying not to wake Jane,
When I got to the kitchen, Dad was talking on the phone,
"Yes, ok, no it's no problem, I'm happy to help" the call ended,
"Morning dad" I pecked his cheek as I picked an apple from the tray,
"Morning honey, that was Jane's folks"
"Oh, are they coming to get her today?"
"Unfortunately no, the next flight back here is tomorrow afternoon"
"Well that's sad"
"Yeah, listen Amy, I'm going to need you to delete that video from your phone, we wouldn't want it getting in the wrong hands"
"Yeah, Sure" I understand why he wouldn't want me having it on my phone, I scrolled through my phone and found the video
"Oh! And I watched what you did to the boy, Nice" he winked at me
making me smile, After deleting the video I showed it to him "see"
He smiled "thanks"
Then he cleared his throat "so, you're staying home with Jane right?"
"What! no, I'm going to school"
I know you're thinking what kind of idiot complains about staying home on a school day, no, It's not like I care about the classes, it's just.. I want to hangout with Drew, fuck!! The gang, I want to hangout with the gang today,
"Amy she's been through alot, you can't possibly leave her all alone"
I wanted to complain, but then I remembered yesterday night, and my heart immediately softened,
I sighed "fine, I'll let the gang know they're not going to see this pretty face for a while"
He smiled "That's my girl" "I'll call the school now to inform them"
I sighed again before leaving the kitchen.
When I got halfway up the stairs, I sat and went to our group chat on my phone,
Me: hey guys, morning
Ben: morning☺, are you already at school 🏣
Me: no not yet😔
Raven: morning everyone, what's up🙃
Me: I was about to tell you all that I probably won't be in school for the next two days🙄🙄
Raven: why, whats going on😯
Ben: is everything alright 😟😟
Me: yh, long story😧.. it's nothing serious
Raven: then tell us😑😑
Me: it's nothing.. I'll tell u guys later😑
Raven: tell us😑😑😑

Drew: hey guys wats up
Raven: nothing, little miss secrets over here, isn't coming to school for the next two day and doesn't want to tell us why😐😒😒
Drew: two days!, Amies is everything alright, do u want us to come over after schl?
Me: no!!.. there's no need for that. And Raven I said I'll tell u later😬😬
Ben: are u sure you're ok
Me: yeah I'm fine, ok how about this.. can you guys come over TOMORROW EVENING🤔 I'll tell you about it then

I sighed as I shoved my phone back in my pocket and went back to the kitchen
"Just broke the bad news to them"
Dad smiled "I'm a little surprised, since when is it bad new to you to stay home on a school day"
I blushed a little "it's not.. I meant it's bad news for them"
He smiled and took his briefcase "ok.. well I'm going to the station now to hand over the video, I'll see you later ok" he pecked my forehead and went out the front door
Almost immediately, I heard Jane's footsteps coming down the stairs..
"Morning" she said as she hugged herself
"Morning..."
We both fell awkwardly quiet..
"Did you sleep well" I tried to break the silence
"Erm.. yeah.. thank you, for yesterday"
"Sure..."
Goddamnit, dad what do you expect me to do with her,
"Erm.. I decided to stay home... with you, if that's ok"
"Thank you, the truth is, I don't think I can be alone right now"
"Yeah..."
"would you like some cereals..."

Later that night
"I can't believe you just said that" I laughed, holding the glass of water
She smiled... "you started it" then she got serious again "thanks for today, for staying, I know you wanted to see your boyfriend and your friends"
"W-what boyfriend" I asked startled as I sipped
She looked confused "Drew of course"
I spat the water out of shock, I could feel my cheeks heating up "h-he not my boyfriend"
She gave me a doubting look as she wiped the little drops of water that fell on her face "then why are you blushing?"
I immediately covered my cheeks "no, I'm not"
She smiled "yes, you are, do you like him?"
"No I don't!"
"Drew and Amy sitting on a tr-" she was interrupted as I throw a pillow at her
"Stop it!!"
She smiled "ok"
"Stop!"
"What, I didn't say anything, I was just smiling" she said still smiling
"Well stop smiling!"
"Ok ok" she smiled to herself "this is fun, I wish I had friends like this"
"What about your plastic minio- sorry.. your friends"
Now she was no longer smiling "we don't talk much, only about clothes or books, come to think of it, none of them even bothered to check on me, not a call or a text"
Ouch.
She sighed "Amy, I'm sorry for how I acted then, it wasn't that I still liked Drew or anything, I just- I just wanted to feel powerful and important, and sorry f-for calling your mom a..."
"It's okay, besides I settled the score"
Her hand subconsciously went to where I punched her "yeah" "you know you're a little scary"
I smiled "I've been told"
Today was not as bad as I thought it would be, Jane is actually a good human being, and if she could over come what happened to her so fast she must be really strong,
I clapped my hands to get her attention "alright, it's time for bed".
Two hours later I woke up to the sound of someone crying next to me,
It was Jane
And no, I didn't let her know I was up, I figured if she waited for me to fall asleep before crying, then she didn't want me to know, I guess she was only pretending to be fine and wanted to act tough, I can only imagine the kind of pain she's going through,
I was stupid to take what she went through so lightly, incidents like this usually scars people for life or changes their life style completely, sometimes for good, sometimes bad..
So I stayed up, silently comforting her with my presence, I know it wasn't much, but that was the only thing I could do for her, if she didn't want me to know she was suffering.
She cried almost throughout the night, when I knew she wasn't going to stop anytime soon, I grabbed her hand under the blanket, trying to give her strength,
My action startled her, she probably thought I was still asleep, she turned to face me but I kept my eyes closed and smiled alittle, letting her feel assured, I squeezed her hand alittle.
When it was almost morning and she was starting to get dizzy, I whispered to her "if you're sad don't keep it to yourself, and if you think no one is there or cares, let me know, don't be sad alone, okay?"
She nodded and sniffed, I squeezed her hand one last time before letting go, then she turned away and drifted to sleep,
I turned away, facing the wall, hoping those words help Jane the way they helped me years ago, a drop of tear slid down my eye, I smiled and shook my head, as I remember mom singing those words to me, making me cringe and smile again,
You were such goof ball mom, I thought before falling back to sleep.

In the afternoon that followed, Jane's parents came over to pick her up, they kept thanking Dad and I for almost twenty minutes, her mom even went into tears, which obviously I couldn't handle, I mean who know what to do in situations like that..
She held my hands thanking me as she cried, and out of my blank state I ended up saying "I'm sorry", I know!.. but what else could I do, I don't know how to handle these things..
Almost three hours after they left Drew and the gang came over, so I took them to my room and told then everything
"...so that's what happened" I said
"Wow" Ben and Raven said
They were all silent in shock, if a needle falls right now I'd probably hear it drop
"I can't believe you and Jane slept in the same room" Sonny said breaking the silence...
Oh yes, we face timed are so it felt like she was present
"I know right, and on the same bed, I never knew this day would come" Raven said
"Well, I guess this goes to show, karma's a bitch" Ben shrugged
"Ben! That's not nice, yes Jane was a little bitchy but Rape is not something to joke about, it's very serious" Raven scolded,
"Yeah, I know, I'm sorry" Ben replied
"I guess.. I kinda.. somehow.. maybe feel alittle bad for her" Sonny said
"I always knew that kid Logan was a dick" Ben said..
Yes, I later found out Mr Rapist name was Logan,
I looked at Drew, who hadn't said a word since
"Well? Aren't you gonna say something?" I asked
"I can't believe you walked in there, what if you had gotten hurt" he said alittle annoyed
I shrugged "I had no choice"
"What do you mean you had no choice, you could have called someone for help, what if things didn't go so well" he stated alittle more pissed at my indifference
I was starting to get pissed too "there was nobody there, what else was I supposed to do?, walk away, pretend like I didn't see anything and say.. 'let somebody else deal with that shit"
Now he was fully angry and so was I
"What if things went wrong!!!!"
"WELL IT DIDN'T!!"
"WHAT IF IT DID!!"
"IT DIDN'T!!!"
"ooookaaay, so, I went to mount Fuji today" Sonny said through the computer
I almost forgot they were still here,
"Ha haha that's good! erm..tell us about it" Raven said in an overly exaggerated manner
"Y-yeah..Well it's this beautiful place in japa-"
Drew And I barely said a word to each other the entire time.
Soon everyone started leaving, But not until Ii made them swear not to tell a soul.
Sonny left first, then Ben and Raven, they probably wanted Drew and I to talk out our little performance earlier on, and honestly so did I,
When everyone was gone and Drew was at the door about to leave, he finally spoke
"Erm.." he sighed "look, Amies, I'm sorry for the way I acted, it's just that, I want you to be safe, you did the right thing but..."
I sighed "I know, and I'm sorry too, you're right, I should have called for help instead of just rushing in, I understand why you're mad but things went well, so you know..."
I smiled opening my arms inviting him for a hug "friends?"
He smiled as he walked into my arms "friends"
We hug for awhile, then he released me alittle, his arms where still wrapped around my waist but he released me just enough so he could see my face, then he reached out one hand and cupped my cheek "I don't know what I would have done if anything happened to you"
*Badump badump badump badump*
My heart was beating so fast and loud I was scared he could hear it, I'm pretty sure my face was as red as a tomato,
I lifted one arm to cover his own that was still on my cheek,
Oh my gosh, what am I doing, don't ask me why, even I don't know why I did that,
My action obviously suprised him, I could see something in his eyes I couldn't explain, he was slowly leaning in
Oh my gosh, oh my God, holy cow, he's going to kiss me, finally.
I was about to close my eyes, when he suddenly stopped himself and almost immediately pushed himself five fts away from me,
He cleared his throat as he rubbed the back of his neck "sorry. almost read the wrong meaning again, I'm working on it"
"Wh-What do you mean" my heart was still pounding
"It's nothing, I erm.. I gotta go, I'll erm.. call you later. Bye" he walked out the door.
Leaving me standing there helplessly with my pounding heart.
What was that moment we just had,
And did I actually want him to kiss me?
