Aisha POV

"So, you can contact Flora?" I ask Roxy.

We're now all in Miss Faragonda's office, including the pixies and pets.

"Yes," she nods, "it seems I accidentally did a spell, but it ended up working in our favour."

"So how does the spell work?" Bloom asks.

Roxy grabs a book from the Headmistress' desk and hands it to Bloom.

"Wow, how does a spell like this end up in a book for animal spells?" Tecna asks.

She shrugs, "I've no idea. I didn't really think much about it until now."

"It doesn't matter! Just do the spell!" Stella nudges Roxy's arm.

"That's the thing," she rubs the back of her neck, "I remember when I first did it, it took weeks. I had no idea what I was doing and it probably just happened my accident."

"It is a very difficult spell," Miss Faragonda nods in agreement, "as you girls probably are aware, it's rare for fairies to use telepathic communication. Those who do are very powerful."

"How come you can't do the spell?" Stella asks.

Bloom whispers lowly to her, "Stella!"

"What?" She asks obliviously.

"It's alright. I believe I can do the spell with enough effort. Telepathy isn't exactly- well, natural, so it requires very complicated and difficult spells that fairies aren't trained to do. Spells that I've never done before," she explains.

"So how come Roxy could do it?" I ask.

Did she not tell us she could communicate with Artu? Well, he is an animal I guess.

"Animals are different. Since they can't always talk back the spells are slightly easier. Slightly. Roxy had obviously done some practice with spells like that and has the skills for spells like that in fairies," Miss Faragonda tells us and we nod, "I'm not surprised."

So, being able to communicate with Artu has given Roxy the magical skills to use telepathic communication with fellow fairies and she didn't even realise it? I wondered.

"But why Flora specifically? Wouldn't she need to take part in the spell somehow?" Musa asks, confusing the Winx and I.

"Well, I did do the spell in the forest outside of Alfea," Roxy says.

"What were you doing there?" I ask.

She shrugs, "it's relaxing, and I get to be close to the animals and nature."

"I believe Flora has a strong connection to the nature there," Miss Faragonda clasps her hands together.

"And all nature in general," Bloom adds.

I nod, "yeah, but Flora, and sometimes all of us, spent a long time there. Remember she practised her magic and just hung ou-"

"Her magical energy must have still been lingering there!" Stella gasps.

"Is that really enough for the spell?" Roxy asks.

Miss Faragonda nods, "I believe so. Since you had no one nearby to connect with your magic has found the next best thing."

"So Roxy can do the spell!" Bloom claps excitedly.

"Wait, if you hadn't already done the spell how did you know Flora was alive?" Tecna asks.

Roxy lifts a small box from the Headmistress' desk and opens it to reveal an even smaller flower.

"This was one of the ingredients for the spell," Roxy tells us.

"There is still a connection between Roxy and Flora, it just isn't activated. Spells like this have to be re-activated to keep them continuous. The flower is still alive, with no food or water, just sitting in this box, as it has been for-" Miss Faragonda looks at Roxy.

"About four months now," Roxy confirms.

The Headmistress continues, "the only way the connection can be broken is using magic to break it purposely or one of the participants passes away."

"Why's that?" I ask.

"The whole connection is based around their essence of life as fairies. Their living souls. If that's taken away, so is the connection," she says and we all nod.

"Then what are we waiting for?" I ask, smiling with enthusiasm.

"Magic Winx!"

We race to the forest outside the magic college.

"So, Roxy, how long did it initially take you to do the spell?" Tecna asks as we land on our feet.

"A while. You're going to have to help me out," she sits on a log and opens the spell book as we all crowd around her.

"What do we have to do?" I ask.

"I need you all to lend me some of your magic," she tells us.

"But we're only just getting it back!" Stella shakes her head, "won't it be useless?"

"It's really not a lot," Roxy shakes her head, "don't worry. Especially since there are a lot of you."

"Yeah, Roxy's really strong on her own. She just needs a little boost," Bloom says and Roxy gives her an appreciative smile.

We all nod and Musa speaks up, "so, how does the spell work?"

"We channel our magic into this," Roxy holds up the small, pink flower.

"A flower?" Bloom asks, "what's that got to do with telepathy?"

"Well-"

"Actually," Tecna gets out her phone to show us, "the flower is supposed to symbolise life itself and connects with the world around it."

"So with telepathy, the users are connecting," I nod in understanding, "and, Flora is connected to flowers so that's even more helpful."

"I guess so," Stella shrugs.

"So," Roxy opens the book, "it says here-" she trails off, tracing her finger along the spell.

We all crowd around the book, analysing the spell. Roxy talks us through it, explaining what she done the last time she performed the spell.

"Seems simple enough," I nod.

"It's not the spell that's the tricky part, it's how it's done," Roxy giggles.

Stella scoffs, "oh come on, how hard can it be?"

Three Days Later, In The Forest

"What is wrong with us?" Stella cries out in frustration, "this is so hard!"

"I told you," Roxy says calmly, holding the flower in her hands, "this isn't simple."

"But we're the Winx! We can do anything!" Stella stomps around our circle of logs which we were sitting on.

"Stella, calm down, we'll get there eventually. Just be patient," Bloom motions her to sit down. Stella sits down and crosses her arms.

"She's right though. It's not easy," Musa sighs.

"As I said before- I never got the hang of it the first few tries and I don't expect any of you to get it easily either. Miss Faragonda believes in us. Flora believes in us. We can do it," Roxy plops the book in the centre of the logs and motions us to sit down.

We transform again and quickly sit down. Roxy takes the flower in her cupped hands and the rest of us join hands. Bloom and I, next to Roxy, grab onto her shoulders to transfer the energy.

Roxy POV

We recite the spell once again, this time much slowly and more carefully.

Flora? I ask in my head.

Flora, are you there?

I wait for a few moments, listening carefully. I shake my head and open my eyes.

I look at them apologetically, "I'm sorry Winx, I-"

Roxy?
