I walked into James apartment to get some things before I head back to my house. James was becoming to much for me at this point and I really just wanted a break from him.
I went into his bedroom to see Sonya fixing clothes in the walk-in closet.
"Hey Sonya"
"Hello Chloe, how are you?" She asked as she fixed James work shirts
"I'm pretty good. Just getting some stuff to head home." I said as I got my bag ready to leave
"Your not staying for dinner? Mr. Hearings asked me to cook for two tonight."
"No I'm going home. Don't tell him you saw me Sonya. You were doing laundry and didn't see me."
She looked at me confused for a minute before saying, "okay dear I won't say anything to him"
"Thank you." I said smiling at her
After packing my small weekend bag up with things, I requested a Uber to my house. The ride cost me nearly $150 but James had given me his card to use and it seems appropriate to use. I got a notification that the Uber was 2 minutes away and I started to head to the elevator.
"Later Sonya" I said waving to her
"I'll see you dear" she said to me
I quickly walked to the elevator and got in. I reached the lobby in no time before walking to the doors. The doorman Keith opened the door for me to get outside in the hot sun. I quickly walked to the Uber driver greeting him.
"Hello, Chloe right?" The guy said as I opened the door
"Yes hi" I said to him
The drive to my house took almost an hour with the traffic on the southern state parkway. Pulling up to my house, I thanked the driver and got out the car.
Opening the front door, I saw my brother Chris in the living room playing on his Xbox.
"Hey Chris" I said to him as I walked pass
"Hey Chloe, what are you doing home?"
"I live here, what do you mean?" I said annoyed at him as I stopped before the stairs
"I just haven't seen you that's all. Relax girl!"
I shook my head at him and quietly said okay before heading up to my room. Once in my room, I looked around my room as if it was a foreign place as I hadn't been there in weeks. I began cleaning up my room a bit before I took my clothes off. I slipped on a big t-shirt and put on some short shorts.
I laid down in my bed for a few minutes before I felt my eyes were getting sleepy.

I awake to someone touching my face. Opening my eyes I saw it was James.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him
"Why are you here?" He asked back
"I live here! What are you doing here in my room?"
"Chloe let me make something clear to you. You need to grow up. Stop running when we have arguments over something dumb as why my ex-girlfriend lives in the same building as me"
"You can not tell me how to feel. Especially when you are an asshole about it!" I said angrily to him
"Your giving me an headache and you don't want to see that side of me. Can you please get your self together and let's go" he said not listening to anything I said
"No"
He turned and smiled at me with anger in his eyes. He walked back over to the bed and got down to my level to face me.
"Let me tell you something. I hate when you don't listen and you don't want to see that side of me" he continued to look in my face for a minute. "Get up and get dressed."
I was scared in the moment he said that. I got up and put on a jeans and a tshirt. I started to pack a small overnight bag with me until James looked up from his phone.
"You really don't need anything. Leave it." He said with so much authority in his voice
He took my hand as I picked up my phone and bag then walked out my room. As we headed down stairs I saw my Dad and Chris in the living room watching a baseball game.
"Hey Mr. Williams and Chris, we are gonna head out" James said to them making them turn around.
"Oh okay, Chlo can you text or call your old man once in a while? Would be nice!" My Dad joked
"I will dad." I said trying to play it cool.
My brother looked at me like he knew what was wrong. He raised his eyebrows and asked me what was wrong. I shook my head at him to not say anything. Looked up at James who was looking at me but having a conversation with my Dad.
"Okay I'll see you guys later" I said like looking at my brother
"Yeah later" Chris said but the look in his eyes was he did not like it
Walking out the house, we went over to the car that was parked outside. James opened the car door for me and I got in. He got into the driver seat and pulled out of the driveway. We were silent as we drove on Sunrise Express Way to head to the Southern State Highway. Looking at the dashboard I saw that it was 6:47pm so there would be traffic on the highway at this time.
While on the highway for a few minutes, James broke the silence
"What do you want for dinner?" He asked and glanced at me
"I'm not hungry"
"Now your not hungry. Okay Chloe. We are gonna get Italian food for dinner"
"Whatever" I said under my breath. I looked down on my phone and decided to text Sofia
Hey
Sofia: what?
I'm sorry about today
Sofia: I wonder why your sorry ...
I should've never spoke to you like that
Sofia: I guess
Come one Sofia, I'm really sorry. I did not mean anything I said to you. You were right about James
Sofia: you see the light 🙌🏾
Seriously, he's crazy
Sofia: why you say that?
I was sleep at my house and I woke up to him touching my face
Sofia: lol I told you he is not who he said he is.
Sofia: but seriously my friend told me, he is crazy forreal
What do you mean?
Sofia: like he has a diagnosis. Bible chlo-money!
Are you sure?
Sofia: yes! I think my friend told me he is bipolar or something like that
Sofia: just be careful
Should I ask him?
Sofia: yeah if you want but idk Chloe. Crazy ppl do not like to share that type of info
As I was about to reply to her, James spoke to me.
"Why are you so quiet?"
"No reason" I said looking at my phone again.
"You texting a lot"
"Talking to Sofia" I simply said
"Oh I see. So what kind of food you want from the restaurant?"
"I'm not hungry" I said again looking at him
"Your gonna eat"
"And if in not hungry?"
"I'll make sure you eat" he said to me as he looked into my eyes
"Why are you so controlling?" I asked
"Because you do not listen" he said angrily
"Why does it matter if I listen or not. If we are in a relationship it's 50/50. No one should control anyone"
"Chloe your really starting to annoy me"
"Do you have a diagnosis?" I blurted out
"Who told you that?"
"Doesn't matter just answer me James"
"That's not something I want to discuss with you honestly" he said as he kept his eyes on the road
"Why not?"
"Because I don't. Now drop it"
"I will not think anything less of you. Just tell me." I said pleading with him
"No." He firmly said as he eyed me
"Okay" I said lowly not wanting to upset him
I just couldn't shake the feeling something was wrong with James but he was just not telling me. I felt like I had to fix whatever it was bothering him. With this new information from Sofia, I wanted to know who I was calling my boyfriend. I also wondered if I made a mistake by getting into things so quickly and not knowing him.
