BRIAR'S POV
" will you like something else with this except for water ?" he asked .
" no this is it . Thanks " I said trying to smile but failed . He made lasagna which with no doubt was delicious .
" okay " he said with a smile .
" so how is it ?" he asked looking a little bit nervous .
" its really delicious " this time I smiled . I don't know why he is doing this but I like it . After a long time some one is caring about my opinion , choice ... it's touchy .
" so where do you live ?" he asked .
" far from here ." I answered making it short . " how did you happen to be here " he asked while eating . " my friend by mistake wrote this place's address for me " I said trying to put my words simple and less confusing .
" how do you know that back slips and the punches." I asked . Ugh. Why is he asking so much .
" I just know . I mean I learnt all of them " I answered praying for him to drop it .
" from whom and why ? " Damn .
" my friend taught me ." I whispered .
" why ?" he pressed again , now eyebrows raised . " for protection then what ? " I answered irritated .
" well who was that friend ?" he asked again . Shit . How the hell am I supposed to answer this one . I gave him a glare making sure the intensity of my glare says it all . But you know what , this guy is not what I am used to have around me . He is different .
" he is a street fighter . I don't know where is he right now as I have not contacted him after my trainings were over ." I answered without hesitation .
He nodded his head after that and then continued eating in silence . Thank god he stopped .
After we finished he went in his room ( I guess) to take some clothes for me to change . Its not like am cool with him giving me his clothes , but i swear if I don't change this disgustingly tight clothes I will surely go mad . He comes after some time with a plain white shirt and some shorts .
" here I only got this . It's the smallest size am having and I hope it fits ." he says .
" yeah ...urr thanks " ugh I don't really know how to deal with these type of situations .
" yeah come I will show you your room " he says walking away . I simply followed . He opened a door which is the same like other doors . But what I saw inside was something that I don't think will be the same in all rooms .
Damn the room is so 'beautiful' or wait what do we say for a room that's so huge like its a hall we entered . Its bed is like a princess's bed and the walls are so high with a soft off-white color . There's a window too , its sides are in dark brown color just like the bed and the other furniture in here . The bed sheets are in white color followed by the huge windows covers .
Thank god I am not drooling over this or else I would have made a fool of myself . " if you need anything please let me know and don't hesitate " he says smiling .
" uh.. yeah thanks again " I answered . " so I will be going now . You make yourself at home ." he says while going towards the door . " wait ..umm" fuck I don't know his name too . " cayden " he answers . Cayden .. Haven't I heard this name somewhere else too . Wait he is Cayden . The ' Cayden Donovan' oh god he is in mafia .
" you're that Cayden right ? The one . Wait you are having a well stabled business isn't it ? " I gave him a questioning look but before he says something I continued ." why are you working for a mafia then ? Oh wait am getting it . You are getting help from mafia in promoting your business . Right ?" I asked with my finger raised at him .
" will you let me say or you want to ask some more questions ?" he asked . " no you say " I said almost immediately. " Yeah so first of all am not working for a mafia and the business I do is all my hard word . ' All with my hard work' and this is not some mafia scheming place . Instead this is a secret police agent place where we fool the criminals by telling them how dangerous and powerful we are in a mafia like how you thought . So this helps us to catch on new and different criminals ." he says . Wow his this secret work is good too . Some people get to do many things in there lives , they are so free . But some people like me are not lucky . They get to live with a fear of their past that can any time attack them .
" so you wanted to ask something . Before you recognized me as a mafia member " says with humor shining in his eyes . Shit . I forgot what I stopped him for . Damn I have a bad memory . Of course I will have a bad memory . Its not like I lived a life like these rich people did . With no worries , no tension and getting everything when ever , where ever they wanted . " um .. I forgot " . Damn . He started laughing . I tried to smile but failed . I mean come on how the hell am I supposed to laugh on my own stupidity .
After that he went out of the room living me to alone admire the room and check out everything in it . Its just wow .
I searched for the bathroom which was huge too . And showering here is like showering in heaven . I don't know what's happening but this place is good . There seems no tension in here . Its feels like my hunters will never find me here . I can live till I stay here . This place is safe . Till I live here .
Sometimes is think what did I deserve to have a life like this . Why my life was not like any other person's with no luxury but a family of full happiness . That would have done everything . But I didn't get to have any of that . I don't know what to really do . Cry , hate or just live with anything that comes in the way with no emotions and goals .
Life is sometimes not fair . It's no fair with me . I think god forgot about me after making me and throwing me here . I have a lot of questions but there's no answer . No answer for anything . No meaning of actual living . Actual life .
There's no way , no road for me . Not knowing if I should be sad about this or happy . But the emotions I get to feel like a normal human being after all these thoughts is sadness . So I guess sadness it is .
After a long shower I get out and wrap a white towel around me and drying my hair with an other one .
I glanced at the mirror to see a pair two lifeless green eyes . They stare back with no emotions . With no spark in them . I smile looking at them . Maybe comforting them . But they remain the same with nothing in them . I move away from there to grab the clothes Cayden gave me . Putting them on was the easiest in all the clothes I have ever worn . I mean they were very lose and easy going . His clothes smells like some expensive perfume I have never smelled . Of course he will have an expensive perfume . But the smell was very addicting which made me smell them again and again .
Getting out of the bathroom I straight away made my way towards the bed or huge bed . As soon as I laid my head on the softest pillow of this world I drifted to the deep sleep .
---------------------------- ' don't ' dad pleaded . ' why can't you leave us ' he said again pleadingly . ' I never loved you and I can never do that . This is not called love ' he continued in a sad voice .
' she will die . I will kill her . ' lillie said in a hard threating tone while moving the knife nearer to my mom's neck . ' no lillie you wont . Please leave her ' dad said again . ' no never . If she will live you will love her and she dies you will love me . ' she said again . I hide under the table with my father's gun in one hand . It is empty but I can still threaten lillie to leave my mom and dad .
Slowly moving out I looked at my dad who currently faced me . His eyes widened when he saw me . Then I bought the gun high pointing it towards lillie . ' leave my mom ' lillie's eyes immediately faced me . She looked angry . ' no briar don't do anything ' my father shouted . But I was concentrating on lillie . ' dad we will be safe . If she does something with my mom , we can kill her here ' I said looking at lillie . ' no braiar my child no ' dad pleaded . I looked at my dad . My chest constricted . Dad looked sad . Very sad . ' dad she will kill my mom . I will kill her before she does something .' ' no my child no you wont do anything ' . I saw lillie gave a cut on my moms neck . No . Mom can't die . ' leave my mom ' I said ' oh poor girl , scared that I will kill her ' lillie evilly smiled towards me . ' no I will kill you if you-' moms neck was bleeding . I felt tears running down my eyes . I pointed the gun towards her again . I know its empty but it can scare her .' leave her or else ' I threatened . But she didn't listen . ' I know the gun is empty . Don't scare me child it wont help . ' she grinned madly . Shock was evident on my face . But I try to cover it and act like she is mistaken here . ' i Will show you if its empty or not' I said threateningly . She laughed but I was too angry to react . My finger automatically pressed on the gun and after a loud bang I heard my father's continues calls . Lillie's body fell on the ground with blood every where around her .
' brair ' my father whispered crying heavily . Mom fell too . I rushed towards my mom .' mom ' I don't know what I was doing but I want my mom safe . ' mom ' I called again she didn't reply . My hands were shaking . The gun fell from my hand as soon as I realized what I did . I searched for my parents to hold me or to save from this . They just sat silently . I was in shock . My heart beat was so fast that it felt like it can come anytime out . 'dad ' I called my dad . He lifted his head up looking very tired . ' its finished ' he whispered to me . ' nothing happened ' he said again trying to convince me . But I know what I did . I killed someone . I killed . Dad cried harder . Mom was quite .
I could hear my dad's cries so clearly that it started hurting my ears . ' dad s-stop ' I said . But he still cried . ' dad ' I said again . No please . My head hurt so much that it could explode . I killed . Dad is crying because of me . I killed . Mom's not talking . Dad .
I held my head in both my hands and cried hard screaming at them . The pain was too heavy . They didn't answered still . I cried heavily but still they didn't answered . I called for them but they sat still .
------" sshh sshh its okay " someone held me . Arms around me wrapped like I always wanted them to .
" nothing will happen I am here " he said nothing will happen . Nothing will happen . Nothing .
" p-p-romise " I asked . My head was on his chest with hands wrapped around him tightly . His hold tightened . " yes" I heard him say the last time before I drifted to sleep in his arms . Saved .
