The large black ford rolled its way down the street on the outskirts of Washington D.C. Puffy grey cumulonimbus clouds covered the sky, hinting at snow. The women in the car peered out the window towards the clouds, wondering when it would start. She tapped her fingers to the beat of 'Sweet Dreams' against the wheel while it played from the radio.

In the rearview mirror, the elementary school was fading from view. The woman had just stopped her eight year old child off for school, and now she was off to her day job.
She reached her arm back to the backseat and grabbed her black clothes.

The woman currently wore light blue jeans with a white t-shirt, and an apron which was tied around her torso "Auto" she spoke towards the dashboard of her car.

"Auto" the car repeated back to her, suddenly shifting to autopilot. The wheel spun and the pedals worked all by themselves. She removed her apron and t-shirt, slipping the spandex long sleeved shirt over her shoulders. Her agencies logo plastered on both shoulders. She removed her jeans and lifted her hips up off the seat to pull up the black spandex pants. Last but not least she wrapped a utility belt around her waist.

"Alright let me take it over" the women said, gaining control of the wheel again.
Just then, the phone connected to the dashboard rang out. She rolled her bright blue eyes and tapped the green answer button "what up Philly Cheese?" She asked, knowing that number of the caller.

"You're late" Phil Coulson replied through the speakers "any reason why?"

"I had to drop mi Hija Bonita off at her school, I'm on my way now" The women changed lanes as a small flurry began to drop from the grey skies "besides, a kidnapped Chancellor of Germany can wait for my daughter to be at school before being rescued" she smirked, turning down another street. Second by second the snow got thicker. She flipped on her wipers.

"I'm glad you think so Agent Carter, now just hurry along. Director Fury is becoming impatient"

"Impatient? With me?" Agent Carter scoffed "what's new?"

"Have you picked up Agent Morgan yet?" Phil asked with a sigh, sounding tired.

"Not yet... wait, yes. I'm about to" Agent Carter could see a figure sitting cold on a bus station bench. His hands were buried in his pocket as snow settled over his hood "You know Phil, for a man who's been around like forever, he really doesn't know how to keep up with style" Agent Carter shook her head in disappointment.

"I'll see you in Germany, Tara" Phil almost rolled his eyes before saying his goodbyes "good luck"

"You too, Phillip" Tara tapped the red button on the dash to end the call before pulling up to the side of the road, parallel to the bus station. She rolled down her tinted windows, feeling the snow blow in "hey old man!" She called, gaining Agent Morgans attention. He glanced up, pulling his hood down slightly "need a lift?"

"Took you long enough" Henry Morgan grumbled as he fidgeted with the seat belt once he sat down "I was freezing my ass off out there"

"Well that's what you get for wearing a coat from the 20's" Tara cranked up the heat in the car to 80 degrees.

"It was the 80's, thank you very much" Henry finally clicked the belt into place "put on your seat belt Tara, it's the law" he noticed that her belt wasn't secure around her front.
Tara rolled her eyes.

"Alright Mom" she said, but didn't put it on.

"Well when we get in an accident and you die, don't come crying to me"

"How can I come crying to you if I'm dead?" Tara fired back with a challenging look in her eyes.

"Knowing you, you'll figure out a way"

"True"

"Moving on" Henry leaned back against his seat, watching as the snow hit the windshields. It was already starting to form on the grass and street, the ground was so cold that the snow didn't melt on contact "what took you so long, the German Chancellor needs us!"

"I had to drop Jessikins off at school! Like I do everyday before work" Tara reminded, looking to her rearview mirror for a split second before returning her eyes to the road "it's not a shocker" There aren't many cars out on the road right now because of the snow, one car drove behind them but several meters away.

"Speaking of Jessi" Henry turned to face the blonde women "Why haven't I met her? I mean, I am her God Father. You've kept her away from me-"

"I've kept her away from everyone who is in relation to SHIELD, correction" she lifted her finger up from the wheel "nothing personal Henry, I just don't want her around that"

"Tara, you are a SHIELD Agent yourself, so technically you aren't keeping her away from that"

Tara pursed her lips and looked away from him "shut up... you know what I mean" she turned a corner, and then another one "I want her life to be normal for as long as possible"

"Jessi's every intelligent, she'll figure out eventually" Henry said.

"I know" Tara nodded, becoming serious all the sudden "but not yet" The pair drove for a few more miles, watching as the neighborhoods faded to snow tinted trees.

"How is she by the way?" Henry asked about Jessi after a few moments of silence.

"She's great" Tara smiled warmly, thinking about her bubbly brunette daughter "all A's on her report card. She had a recorder concert the other day, sounded off key but still fabulous. Oh! and apparently some kid was picking on her, but she kicked him in the balls and he hasn't said a word since" Tara laughed, taking another turn out of the suburbs.

The pair were now heading out to the green forested lands of Virginia to a secret SHIELD base outside of the city. There they would board a jet and head to Germany to rescue the Chancellor. (And no, not Chancellor Palpatine)

Tara glanced to her rearview mirror, noticing the same car tailing behind them. She narrowed her eyes slightly.

"You see it too?" Henry asked.

"Yup" Tara accelerated a bit more, being extra careful because of the snow sticking to the street below their tires "There are a bunch of old roads out here, we'll hop on one and lose them"

"Sounds like a plan" Henry nodded.

"Then we'll contact-" Tara couldn't finish her sentence. A large black SUV propelled itself out of no where, practically leaping over the curb and rammed right in to the passenger side of Tara's black truck. Her body was flown to the side because the seat belt wasn't on. Her head slammed into the window. The car rolled off the street, smacking dead into the trees. Glass sprayed all over the place, cutting Tara's body.

It took a couple minutes for Tara to regain her eye sight "Ugh" she grounded, pushing against the door. Pain spread throughout her whole body. It felt like something was squeezing her lung. She could tell her leg was broken, and a rib had definitely punctured a lung. Her breath came up in wheezes.

Blood trickled down her lip and nose "Henry" she nudged her unconscious parter. He was sprawled out, unmoving in the passenger seat "Henry" she begged. Tara reached for the door and used her remaining strength to break open the glass even more than it already was. It cut her palms, she hissed in pain. Tara managed after a few seconds to create a space big enough for her to squeeze through.

Henry was still on the inside. Their car was flipped over on its side, the passenger side taking most of the hit. Tara pulled herself from the car, falling onto the icy street. Scarlett blond stained the snow. She lifted her head up dizzily to see where the car was. People dressed in all black and masks were jumping out of the large SUV. She couldn't move her arms to grab any of her weapons.

"We got her" a low voice mumbled.

Tara gritted her teeth, the taste of blood fresh in her mouth. Henry was still passed out in the passenger seat, the car hit him directly.
A hand grabbed the collar of her shirt and lifted her off ground. Her feet dangled in the air just above the snowy pavement.

A man with brunette hair that reached his shoulders held her up. A mask covered his face with goggles over the eyes stared back at her. Her eyes twitched into focus. Her face dropped in dread "Oh No" she begged. The man slammed her back down on the ground so she was on her back. She groaned in pain, her body curling in pain. She opened her tear stained eyes, looking at the man who stood above her holding a gun in his hand.

"Bucky..." she whispered, haunted by his presence. He was a ghost from her past "Oh Bucky..." she cried softly, unable to believe her own eyes. He's been gone for so long "I've waited so long" she started to raise herself from her laying position. Sergeant Barnes lifted his foot and kicked her back. He sunk down to her level and gripped her throat, holding the gun to her head.

"Shut up" he growled.

"Kill her Sergeant Barnes" a middle aged man ordered from behind. He wore a grey suit with a black tie. He approached the scene with stern look on his face.

"Pierce" Tara muttered, recognizing the ginger haired man. He was a life long friend of Nick Fury. Alexander Pierce.

"You've caused Hydra a great deal of trouble Agent Carter, intervening in everything we do. I don't like it. You're long lost boyfriend here doesn't either"

"Sadist" she hissed to Pierce, struggling with Bucky's grip. She pushed against his face weakly, trying desperately to get away. She knocked off the goggles overtop his eyes, getting caught off guard by his deep blue eyes like she always use to. A wave of pure heartbreak washed over her. His eyes were hard as they poured into hers, he wasn't the same man anymore. They changed him.

"Hurry up Sergeant Barnes, let's get this show on the road" Pierce headed back to the car.

"Just do it" Tara leaned her head back, letting snow flakes land on her flawless skin "it's okay. I love you... I always will. Do it" she closed her eyes. There was nothing she could do now. Bucky was gone, the old him. He was strong, she was weak.

Bucky narrowed his eyes, listening to her words. Her soft voice echoed in his mind, deep in his subconscious. He knew her voice from somewhere. Split second memories danced their way through his mind. Blue eyes, snowflakes, blonde hair, a laugh... a kiss.
"I know you" he murmured, barely loud enough for anyone to hear. His grip around her neck loosened "why the hell do I know you?"

Tara could see the light fighting to get back in his eyes "I removed you shackles..." she breathed "but you showed me freedom beyond anything... that I could ever imagine" blood dripped from her lip. Blood was now filling her lungs from the ribs that had punctured it "The one thing that ever mattered" she wheezed, coughing violently.

Alexander Pierce rolled his eyes and made his way back to them "Find her" Tara whispered, pleading with her dying breath "take care of her. Love her, she's going to be so beautiful in everything she does... find her"

"Tara" Bucky spoke her name for the first time in years. Everything hit him like a flood. Realization spread throughout him as he stared down at the women he loved. His eyes filling with tears.

"I love you Bucky" she ran her fingers along his cheek. His eyes shut at her touch.

"I love you"

Alexander forcefully took the gun from Bucky's hand, his mouth in an angry frown as he fired... killing the Agent.

Bucky stood off to the side, unable to stop it. Tara's words lingered in his mind as snow clung to his dark brown hair.

"Find her"
