Mariana's POV- December 2016
I smiled at Will earning a frown in return.
"I don't want you to leave"
"I'll be back in a few days" I assured him.
He nodded slowly.
"Do you really have to go?"
"I do, I've got work Will" I replied.
He pouted.
"You've got a game tomorrow" I told him.
I laughed as he stuck out his lower lip.
"I'm going to miss you"
"I'll miss you too" I said as he sat down on his bed.
He looked up at me as I stood in front of him.
"When do you start school?"
"Second week of January" I answered.
He smiled.
"I've got the second week of January free"
"Really?" I asked.
He nodded.
"I told Alex I'd go to New York for a bit, but I can go to LA first"
"That sounds nice" I told him.
I pushed his hair back and he closed his eyes.
"You'll get to meet Babe" I said.
He hummed and opened his eyes when I stopped massaging his head.
"You need to get ready" I stated.
He pouted.
"Your flight leaves in 2 hours" I informed him.
"Don't remind me, I don't want to go"
"Why not?" I asked.
"You won't be here when I get back"
"I will see you in 7 days" I told him.
He nodded slowly and smiled when I kissed his cheek.
"I love you" I said.
He immediately grinned.
"I love you too"
I pecked his lips.
"You need to change" I stated.
"One more kiss?"
I smiled and leaned in to give him a quick kiss. He had another thing in mind because he grabbed my face and depend the kiss. I let him have his little moment, and pulled away when both of us were out of breath.
"Time to change" I told him.
He frowned.
"Who's picking you up?" I asked.
"Auston"
I nodded.
"Come on, it's best to not keep him waiting" I said.
"You just want to see me in my suit"
I smiled and winked at him before looking at his suitcase.
"Do you have your toiletries?" I asked.
"Yes"
"Boxer briefs?" I listed off.
"and Socks"
I nodded.
"A pair of shorts you won't wear" I stated.
He laughed and I closed his suitcase after I made sure he had everything.
"What are you doing today?"
"Ellie's got work, and Kasperi bribed me into going Christmas shopping with him" I told him.
"What did he bribe you with?"
"Chinese food" I replied.
He smiled and chuckled.
"Is he even up?"
"Probably not, are you hungry?" I asked.
He nodded.
"Let's see what I can make you" I told him.
He picked up his suitcase and set it on the floor as I made my way out of the room.
"Hey Ana"
"Yeah?" I called out.
I walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge door.
"How does an omelette sounds?" I asked him.
"Sounds good"
I nodded and began making that.
"Don't buy a suitcase, just take the duffle bag I have in my room"
"Ok" I told him.
"I don't really use it, so just hang on to it for me"
He yawned.
"Auston is on his way"
"How far does he live?" I asked.
"He should be here in 10 minutes"
"Did he eat already?" I asked.
"No, he wants to go to Starbucks"
We both scrunched up our noses.
"He's such a white girl"
"And you're not?" I wondered.
He gasped and touched his chest.
"That wounds me"
I laughed and grabbed the large pan I had washed last night.
"Tell him I'll make him an omelette to go" I said.
"Just make it, he'll eat it regardless"
I nodded and turned on the stove.
"If Kappy gives you any trouble"
"We are in good terms now, I'll be alright" I stated.
He nodded slowly.
"We've got bell pepper and onion in the fridge"
I smiled and grabbed that. I quickly chopped the bell pepper, jalapeño, and onion into small pieces and mixed it with the egg. I poured that on the pan and turned to Will.
"Who taught you and George how to cook?"
"Dina and the internet" I replied.
I shrugged.
"Dining food gets repetitive after two weeks" I told him.
"Does your mom get jealous of Dina?"
"Yeah, she doesn't really like Dina. The thing with my mom is when she sees one of us, she expects to see the other twin as well" I said.
I added cheese on the omelette and folded it in half. I handed it to him once it was on a plate.
"Thank you"
I nodded.
"Is Auston a picky eater?" I asked.
"No, he eats anything"
I poured the rest of the mix on the pan and looked at Will when the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it"
Will nodded and continued eating as Kappy went to answer the door.
"Hey man, come on in. Willy is in the kitchen eating"
The door closed and I turned to look at the omelette as Auston walked in.
"I'm surprised Mitch isn't with you"
"He's running late, so I'll pick him up in 15 minutes"
Will nodded and I added cheese on the omelette before I folded it in half.
"Have a seat, and eat" I told Auston.
He smiled and took the plate from me.
"George was right, you are a far more motherly version of Esme"
I rolled my eyes and turned to Kasperi.
"Omelette?" I asked.
He nodded.
"I'm going to shower, but yes please"
"Alright, shout when you're out" I called out.
"Thank you"
I shut off the stove and looked at Auston.
"It's not nice to stare" I stated.
He chuckled.
"You know your way around Willy's kitchen"
I smiled and shrugged.
"Omlette is really good. Thank you"
"No problem" I told him.
I heard my phone ringing, so I excused myself. I looked at the screen to see my dad was Facetiming me.
"Hey dad" I said as I greeted him.
"Morning honey"
"It's a little early over there, ain't it?" I asked.
"It is, but I have a few minutes to spare"
He took a sip of his coffee.
"Is William there?"
"He's in the kitchen eating" I replied.
"What's he eating?"
"Omelette" I told him.
"Nice, you know how to make good omelettes"
I smiled.
"So I was talking with your mom last night"
I scrunched up my nose because I had talked with mom.
"You failed to mention that she did not know that your boyfriend is coming"
"I was going to call her again today, I called twice but the call went straight to voicemail" I said.
"Did you leave a message"
"I did actually, so she can't use it against me" I told him.
He chuckled.
"Well she wants to meet him"
"You didn't tell him he plays in the NHL, right?" I asked.
"No, I just told her that he's a young man who you met in Toronto"
I nodded.
"He's going to be staying with you, correct?"
"Yes" I said.
"In your spare room?"
I rolled my eyes as he chuckled.
"Just don't make me a grandpa just yet"
"God no dad, let me finish my career before you ask for grandchildren" I stated.
"Good, just checking to see if you two are using protection"
I sighed.
"Mari, he's a young and handsome guy. There is only so much you can do to resist that charm"
I laughed.
"Oh dad, well I will call mom and accommodate her" I said.
"That's all I ask, if she can't make it then at least you tried"
He cleared his throat.
"I was talking with George"
"Of course you were" I told him.
He laughed.
"I got you your plane ticket, same flight as Esmeralda"
"Thanks dad" I said.
"No problem honey, just have fun"
I nodded.
"You've got a bit of a shadow"
I turned and smiled at Will.
"We're heading out"
"Let me meet him before you hang up on me"
I reached for Will's hand as he stood next to me.
"Dad this is William. Will this is my dad Lorenzo" I introduced.
Will smiled and waved.
"Nice to meet you sir"
Dad laughed.
"None of that sir thing, It's your honor"
I rolled my eyes as my dad grinned.
"Just kidding, call me Lorenzo"
Will nodded.
"I got Mari her plane ticket, she will be back in Toronto December 30th. It's the same flight info as Esmeralda's that way they don't travel alone"
"Thanks dad" I said.
"Of course honey. William I look forward to meeting you in two weeks"
Will nodded.
"Well it looks like I'm needed"
"Bye dad, love you" I told him as I blew him a kiss.
I smiled as he blew me some kisses.
"Love you too, I will see you tomorrow"
I nodded.
"Bye William"
Will waved and I ended the call.
"You ok?" I asked.
He nodded.
"I didn't think I'd meet your dad just yet"
"I know, I'm sorry" I told him.
I kissed his cheek.
"It's alright, he was nice"
"He's going to love you, don't you worry" I assured him.
I smiled and pecked his lips.
"So it looks like my mom does want to meet you" I stated.
"That's nice"
He pecked my lips.
"Walk me out?"
I nodded and followed him out.
"Thanks for the omelette Mariana"
"No problem Auston, it was nice to see you" I said.
"It was nice seeing you, I hope to see you around more often. I don't think I've seen Willy smile like that"
I looked at Will who rolled his eyes, but smiled.
"I'll text you"
I nodded and closed my eyes as Will leaned in for a kiss.
"Love you"
"Love you too, take care" I called out as they left.
The door closed and I turned when Kasperi walked in.
"Can I get that omelette?"
"Of course" I told him.
He nodded and smiled.
"No crying, you'll see him in a couple of days"
He gave my shoulder a light squeeze.
"You're stuck with me, but the good thing is you get Chinese food after"
I laughed.
"I heard right, you're coming for New Years?"
"Yes" I said.
"That's great, and he's also meeting your parents?"
I nodded.
"I'm sorry for being protective over him"
I shook my head.
"You don't need to apologize, you're his best friend" I stated.
He nodded.
"You need to get yourself a girlfriend" I told him.
He rolled his eyes.
"Again with that"
"No more one night stands, you're an adult and you need someone to stand by you through thick and thin" I said.
"Well I had Willy but you showed up"
"We can share Will" I teased.
He chuckled.
"Do you know how to skate?"
"I do, my dad taught us how to roller blade before tossing us onto the ice" I replied.
"Well that's good to know because Willy did ask I take you to get you a pair of skates"
I nodded.
"Let's eat, and then be on our way"
I turned on the stove.
"Thanks for making me food"
"I don't mind" I told him.
"Who's taking you to the airport?"
"Ellie" I said.
"How is she?"
"She's doing well, a bit nervous since she's meeting her boyfriend's family" I answered.
"She's seeing someone? That's good"
I nodded.
"Yeah, they've been together since May" I stated.
I looked at him.
"Did anything ever happen with your two?" I asked.
"I mean we kissed a few times, but I always ditched her for other girls"
He lightly shrugged.
"She's crazy smart and beautiful, but I never had a chance with her"
"I'll help you look for a girl, don't you worry" I assured him.
"You'll be my wing woman?"
"Of course, no slutty girls though. You need yourself a hard headed girl" I told him.
"Yeah?"
"Of course, so she can have you on check. You like smart girls you just don't like that you have to try to win them over" I explained.
"True"
"Well first off, you won't meet them at a club" I said.
He grinned.
"Should I throw up on their shoes?"
I rolled my eyes.
"You can start off at a coffee shop" I began.
He nodded.
"Operation get Kappy a girlfriend is in full go then"
"Of course" I said.
I finished making our omelettes and turned to him.
"This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship Mari"
