Mariana's POV- May 2016
"I got to say, William really outdid himself"
I looked at Ellie.
"I'm going to tell him I love him" I told her.
She looked away from the 3 charms on my bracelet and smiled.
"About fucking time Mariana"
She grabbed both my hands and smiled.
"Something is bothering you though"
"I got two messages from Will's ex-girlfriend" I stated.
Part of me wanted to delete the messages and tell the girl to fuck off, but the other part of me wanted to read what she sent me.
"Did you read them?"
"I don't know if I want to" I admitted.
She looked at me.
"Can you read it?" I asked her.
She bit her lower lip and nodded.
"Ok"
I reached for my phone and unlocked it before handing it to her. She pushed her hair back and I watched as her eyes slowly went down the screen. Once she was done she looked up at me and let out a deep breath.
"You need to talk with William"
"Why?" I asked.
She locked the screen and handed me back my phone.
"Just to clear things up"
I looked at her.
"What would he need to clear up with me?" I asked.
"Just talk with him first"
I unlocked my phone and grabbed my hand.
"Mariana, talk to him first. Please do not jump to conclusions"
There was a knock on the door and I took a deep breath.
"That's Will" I told her.
I stood up and grabbed my jacket.
"I'm a phone call away"
I nodded and opened the door.
"Hello beautiful"
I smiled as Will stepped forward and pulled me into a tight hug.
"You ok?"
He pulled away a bit and I nodded.
"Yeah, just nervous about my grades" I replied.
He smiled.
"There's no need to be nervous about that love, I'm sure you did great"
He kissed my forehead and squeezed me.
"What are you two doing tonight?"
He rubbed my back as I leaned against him.
"Just staying in, what about you?"
Ellie looked at me before smiling at him.
"Jeff is coming over, he's helping me pack"
I let out a deep breath and pulled away from Will.
"Let me put on my jacket" I told him.
He nodded.
"You're not taking an overnight bag?"
"I've got some pjs and an outfit at your place" I replied as I slipped on my jacket.
"Alright, well I'll drop her off tomorrow morning before practice"
Ellie smiled and nodded.
"Of course"
I grabbed my phone and purse.
"I don't think I've ever seen you this nervous"
I looked at Will and smiled.
"You sure you want to stick around with me?" I asked.
He lightly chuckled.
"Of course"
He placed his hand on my back.
"Have a good night Ellie"
He closed the door and put his arm around my shoulder.
"Kappy is out getting Chinese food"
"How nice of him" I said.
He kissed my cheek and lightly rubbed my arm.
"I'm starving"
I was not so hungry anymore.
"Maybe we'll beat Kappy home"
I smiled.
"Well let's go" I told him.
I tugged his arm and he smiled as he followed me down the hallway.
"I actually heard back from UCLA's Master program in Nursing" I stated.
He smiled.
"Good news?"
"I got an interview" I answered.
"That's great, they'd be stupid not to have you"
"You just love pissing Jake off, don't you?" I asked.
He chuckled and unlocked his car.
"I don't know what you're talking about"
He opened the car door for me and I sat down.
"I didn't greet you properly"
I smiled as he pressed his mouth against mine.
"God I missed you"
"You saw me this morning" I told him.
"There's that smile I love"
He kissed my cheek before stepping back to close the door. I took a deep breath and reached for my seatbelt as he sat in the drivers seat.
"Let's see if we can beat Kappy"
We did not beat Kasperi, he was there waiting for us with a bunch of Chinese food.
"You said you were bringing Ana, so I figured I'd bring a lot of food"
I rolled my eyes and smiled.
"Thanks asshole" I said.
Kasperi grinned and I looked at Will.
"Can we talk in a bit?" I asked.
He looked at me and nodded slowly.
"Yeah, once we're done eating"
I nodded and slowly began eating. I ignored the look Kasperi gave Will to which he shrugged lightly. Kasperi looked at me once he went to get seconds.
"Are you excited to go home?"
I looked at Kasperi and smiled.
"I'm not looking forward to adulating" I admitted.
I had a full time job waiting for me, and Cat had informed me that once the season was over for the Ontario Reign I had a summer internship (paid if I may add) with the Dodgers.
"What exactly are you working in?"
"I'm actually interning for the Dodgers" I replied.
"Haven't you done that before?"
I looked at Will and nodded.
"Yeah, but I'm getting paid this summer" I said.
He smiled.
"That's great to hear Ana"
I smiled and Will pushed his plate forward.
"Let's go to my room"
I nodded and stood up.
"We'll be back" I told Kasperi.
He nodded slowly and I grabbed my phone before following Will to his room. I closed the door and I looked up at will when he touched my shoulders.
"Is everything ok?"
"Your Ex messaged me this morning" I replied.
He sighed and rubbed his face.
"I haven't read the message" I admitted.
He looked at me.
"I don't have feelings for her Ana, I love you and only you"
I nodded slowly and unlocked my phone.
"Read this out loud for me" I told him once I loaded the direct message.
The look on his face when I said that made me wish I had deleted the message.
"Ok"
I handed him the phone and he let out a shaky breath before he cleared his throat.
"Mariana, I love you"
"Then read it" I said.
He nodded.
"My name is Elsa and I'm sure you know by now that I am William's exgirlfriend"
I pushed my hair back and leaned against the wall.
"I'm sure he's told you a bunch of horrible things about me, but I'd like to defend myself. If he hasn't then there's a chance you're about to get your heart broken"
I looked at Will who sniffled and wiped his face.
"He lures you in with that boyish smile and those angel eyes of his"
He took a deep breath and looked at me.
"Ana"
"I could finish reading it" I told him.
"She's doing this on purpose"
"Why would she do that?" I asked.
"Because she's a manipulative bitch!"
"I'll finish reading it then" I said taking my phone back.
He sighed and began pacing the room.
"He lures you in with that boyish smile and those angel eyes of his. You're hooked there, and then he'll invite you to his place. You'll spend the night and he will be a total gentleman, that is until the next time you're over. That's when he uses that charm of his and you'll find yourself in bed with him. He'll then pretend to be interested in things you love, for me it was astrology. He'll pretend to pay attention and you'll talk all night long. He was my first, and the reason I broke up with him was because I realized how manipulative he is" I read.
I looked at Will when he let out a sob and sighed.
"Did he tell you he looks for me every summer? I was foolish enough to sleep with him, but thats because I thought I was in love. He told me he was in love with me and made me feel like I was the only girl in his life. I'm warning you because you seem like a nice girl who doesn't deserve this. Just a fair warning, he's going to claim I'm the crazy one" I finished.
I locked the screen of my phone as Will stepped forward making me step back.
"Please don't do this"
"Don't do what?" I asked.
"Push me away, let me explain myself"
"Is this why you agreed not to label our relationship?" I stated.
He sniffled.
"I didn't want a relation because I knew she'd do this! She always does this, whenever I try to move on she ruins it"
He took a deep breath and reached for my hand.
"But I fell in love with you, I promise you that I am not lying. I swear this on my family Ana"
He wiped his face and I bit my lip.
"Please don't let her get into your head. You're smarter than that"
"Do you look for her every summer?" I asked.
He looked at me and nodded slowly as he closed his eyes.
"I should go" I told him.
"No, please let me explain myself"
"I just need to clear my mind" I said.
He shook his head.
"No, you're going to break up with me"
"I'm not" I told him.
I stepped forward and gave him a squeeze.
"We will talk about this tomorrow, ok? After your game. I'll have Ellie drop me off" I said.
He nodded and I wiped his face.
"I love you"
I gave him a long kiss and pulled away.
"Let's just talk about it now?"
I shook my head and pushed his hair back.
"I'll ask Kasperi to drive me back" I told him.
He took a deep breath and nodded and I lightly touched his face.
"You don't believer her, right?"
I smiled.
"We'll talk about this tomorrow, after the game" I repeated.
I gave him one last kiss and stepped out of the room. Both Kasperi and Viktor were standing in front of the door.
"Were you two arguing?"
I smiled.
"Can you take me back to campus?" I asked Kasperi.
He looked at me and then at Will who was standing behind me.
"Are you sure you two don't want to clear things up?"
"We'll clear things up tomorrow" I told him.
He nodded slowly and Viktor cleared his throat.
"I'll stay with Willy, you take Mariana"
I made my way to the living room and closed my eyes as I heard Will start sobbing.
"Ready?"
"Yeah, let me get my bag" I said.
I grabbed my bag and looked at Kasperi.
"Let's go" I told him.
I grabbed my jacket and he followed me out. I leaned against the wall once we were in the elevator and closed my eyes.
"Are you ok?"
I took a deep breath and opened my eyes.
"No" I admitted as the tears trailed down my face.
A/N: I was supposed to update this at 10PM but then I ended up watching the series finale of the Vampire Diaries. You guys are going to hate me for the next chapter.
