Mariana's POV- January 2016
"Are you awake?"
"I am now" I mumbled as Ellie got off of me.
"Let's go to the dining hall? I'm starving"
"What time is it?" I asked.
"It's almost noon, I figured I'd let you sleep in"
"This is why you're the best roommate I have ever had" I admitted.
"Get dressed so we can go eat"
I pushed my blankets off of me and sat up.
"Do you have anything planned?"
"No, why?" I asked.
"I figured you'd want to go to the mall"
"I do need slippers, I shouldn't exactly roam around the hall in just socks" I said.
"Your phone has been going off all morning"
"How long have you been awake?" I asked.
"About an hour?"
I pulled out a pair of jeans and looked at two blouses.
"The pink one is nice, it's not that cold outside either"
I hummed and reached for my tan bra.
"You have to realize that I was born and raised in Los Angeles where it hardly rains because of the current drought and where most people only wear one layer of clothes year long" I stated.
I turned to look at her to see she was nodding.
"That's true"
She lied down on her bed and looked at her phone.
"Hurry up and change"
I turned away from her and slipped off my PJ shirt. I put on my bra and slipped on my blouse.
"They still have pancakes"
"What about hash browns?" I asked as I took off my shorts.
I reached for my jeans and slipped them on.
"Let me ask"
I grabbed a pair of socks and sat on my bed.
"They still have hash browns"
"Who is telling you this?" I asked.
"Jake"
I made a face as I put on my boots.
"He likes you"
"No, god no" I said.
"What's bad about him?"
"Uh for one, he's our RA" I stated.
She shrugged.
"And he's like the biggest frat boy" I added.
I zipped up my boots and stood up.
"I mean you do have the attention from a handsome, blonde hockey player"
I rolled my eyes as I slipped on my jacket.
"I do not" I said.
"You do"
I grabbed my phone and purse.
"He's just being nice, we did save his life" I told her.
"He was nice to me, he was more than nice to you"
"You're just saying that" I stated as I followed her out.
I closed the door as she turned to me.
"I'm not, he was completely interested in you. He got so flushed when he hugged you goodbye"
It's true, William had hugged me goodbye.
"I'm not looking for a relationship" I admitted.
She smiled.
"Who says you need to make this a relationship? Have some fun"
She winked at me and nudged me as we made our way down the hallway.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You're here until May, enjoy it"
She walked ahead of me and I took the time to pull out my phone. I had a few missed calls from my brother, but that was normal. I had five unread texts, four from my brother and one from William. I opened William's text and smiled.
I get to skate today! Non contact, but at least I get to practice
"Quick question"
"Shoot" I told Ellie as I typed up a response.

"Can we get coffee before?"
"You know I can never say no to coffee" I stated.
