(Jay's POV)
"Are you serious right now??" I asked in disbelief....
"A 4-hour delay.... wow..." Luke said chuckling and shaking his head.
"Well I heard some of the flight attendants say that they heard the weather on the way out there is bad. So, they just wanna make sure we get over-seas safely." A guy said as he over heard us talking. It appeared that we were all on the same flight.
"Well... I just got over the fear of planes because of wind turbulence and stuff like that, so if they wanna delay it a couple of hours because of bad weather, then I'm not complaining." I said chuckling and walking back over to our seats.
Luke sat down next to me and he allowed me to stretch my legs out across his lap.
"You used to be scared of planes?"
"Yeah I didn't play that...." I said as we both chuckled.
"Well, what changed that?"
".... well my baby's daddy forced me to get on them, so I ain't have a choice but to get over the fear." I said putting on a fake smile.
"So who is he?"
"Can we not talk about him? I'm trying to start a new chapter in my life. I wanna start off fresh." I said sternly as Luke smiled at me.
"You're really adorable when you get serious." He said flashing another smile.
"Thank you and I am really digging your smile... your teeth on the sides are really sharp... almost like you're a vampire or something." I said as I admired his facial features.
"What if I am a vampire... Like the first mortal vampire or something." He said as I pushed him gently.
"Boy shut up.... you ain't no vamp..."
"Wanna play questions?" He asked pulling out his phone.
"Sure... why not? We're gonna be stuck here for almost another 4 hours." I said rolling my eyes.
"Alright.... lets see... what do you look for in a guy?"
"He has to make me smile and laugh all the time. He needs to be financially stable, compassionate, understanding, and he has to be smart. Oooo ooo and he has to give amazing hugs for sure." I said as Luke laughed.
"You're gonna have to test out the type of hugs I give then."
"Alright I'll hold you to that. Chocolate or white chocolate?"
"I love me some milk chocolate." He said while winking and smiling at me.
"Lukeeeee stop making me blush you moron." I said as he let out a deep chuckle.
"I'm sorry sweetheart I can't help myself. What's something you've always wanted to do?" He asked as I thought for a moment.
"I took photography in high school and I always wanted to continue it. But, I got so wrapped up in the medical world. I forgot all about it." I said shaking my head.
"How bout this... when we get to Italy, we're gonna go shopping and we can buy you a new camera. While you're out of the country you can take some real nice pictures. Including pictures of ya boy." Luke said sticking his tongue out.
"Ewww boy don't nobody wanna take no pictures of you. But, we do have a deal." I said smiling as we shook hands in agreement.
"Is the Popeyes in Louisiana really the best?" I asked as he looked at me like I asked a dumb question.
"Girl of course we got the best Popeyes." He said getting cocky.
"Ugh here you go with the cockiness."
"You call it cocky... I call it high confidence." He said showcasing a kool-aid smile.
"Next question... let's say you bouta get down and dirty wit ya boy. What song we doin it to?" He asked as I erupted in laughter. This man obviously has no filter.
"What? I'm for real. Pick a song Jay. I just wanna know." He said smiling and laughing.
"Alright alright... this is just hypothetically speaking right?"
"Yeah baby girl ... just being hypothetical."
I got chills at that "baby girl" phrase. I guess because I'm being called that by someone else. When he said that, I thought back to how Chris called me that. Of course I'm hurt. I'm just tired of crying. I reached my breaking point. I'm just trying to get him out of my head for a while. Yeah I still love Chris, but I'm done. Now, all of a sudden, Luke came along. I wanna try something new. I'm really liking it so far too.
"Well... I choose "Senses" by Jeremih. That song is mellow and smooth. That's why I like it. It's like he's being freaky in the calmest way." I said putting my head down while blushing.
Luke grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers.
"Yeah... I agree... he said would you whisper to me it's yours? Girl you smell so gentle and pure. You control my senses." Luke sang softly the same way Jeremih sang it as I got excited.
"Ahhh oh m g sing some more... pleaseeeee?"
"No" Luke said laughing and I started pouting because I hate getting told no.
"You probably hate getting told no, but too bad. Now you met me." He said as a small grin spread across his face. As I looked at him, I realized how genuinely fine this man was.
"I know you probably thinking about how fine I am." He said laughing as I glared at him.
"Ugh you get on my nerves and I just met you." I said rolling my eyes.
"I feel like I've known you for years. It's like we clicked from the start." He said searching for my orbs to make eye contact.
"I know right? I was thinking about that at the restaurant."
"You are so gorgeous man. Why did it take this long for me to meet someone like you?" He asked as I smiled. He was still trying to make eye contact.
"Thank you and I have no idea." I said looking down.
"I can tell that you don't like keeping eye contact with people." He said reaching his big soft hand up to my chin to make me face him.
"Yeah... it's just weird to me... do you have any family in Italy?" I asked taking my legs off of him.
"Well I have an aunt that lives in Venice. When I'm out there, I visit her. The rest of my family is in New Orleans, L.A, or New York with me. But, I tend to go back and forth between L.A and the NY. How about you?"
"Well all of my family lives back in Chicago. But, my brother kinda lives in San Diego because he's in the Navy. But, he's not really in the Navy now cause he got chosen to do this special services type job. Almost like top secret information."
"Whoa that sounds cool.... have you ever been to his job?"
"Well when he worked on the Naval base, I went because he was in a bad accident. It sounds crazy but a dolphin kinda saved his life. It was the cutest thing. It's also crazy that they have the place so secured." I said as my eyes wandered.
"Well I mean it was a naval base... which the government runs... why wouldn't it be secure?"
"I don't know man but I was loving it." I said as my phone started vibrating. It's been going crazy since I left.
Chris left me about 100 text messages and calls. So, now Shay is trying to call me. I'm not stupid, I know all of them are together. It's a trap.
"You wanna answer that?" Luke asked as he looked at me in a concerned manner.
"No.... I just wanna take a nap."
"Aw so you just gone leave me up by myself?"
"I'm sorr----"
"I'm just playing baby girl. Go ahead, you probably need the rest." He said pulling me into his chest. As I laid my head down, I heard his heartbeat. It was somewhat racing and I found it so adorable.
"I'll wake you up when it's time to go." He said leaning down and kissing my forehead.
This was just ecstasy. Loving on a pregnant woman. My hormones are always raging, so I need this type of affection. I wonder how long Luke will last though. He seems determined about me, but I guess we'll have to find out. I really needed this type of break.
