Magic.
A word you would think which is just a fragment of our imagination and our dreams. However, for you, it was your reality, your world. You had studied the Mystic Arts since you were a child thanks to your parents. And now you were coming home, where you had been raised: Kamar-Taj.
You hummed in delight, walking through the heavy crowd, a hood on your head. Your blue soft tunic which was made of the same component of the infamous Cloak of Levitation draw attention but you ignored the puzzled glances. You reached the door of the place of your childhood and knocked at the wooden door. You were waiting, a huge smile on your face imagining the face of the Ancient One or Wong when you felt a rough hand landed on your shoulder. It pulled you backwards, making you fall on your butt. You groaned and raised your head up. Five muscled men were looking at you, a pervert spark in their eyes. You carefully got up, dusted your clothes and said in a threatening tone " You've got the wrong girl, boys".
One of them laughed, coming closer from your form with his clenched fists.
" Oh yeah, dollface? Let's have some fun with my boys"
He raised his fists, ready to strike and you sent him a death glare at the moment the door opened, letting out a strange man. You smirked at the opponent and kicked him in the gut. Another one tried to punch you but you just grabbed his hand, letting his fist collided with one of his friend's face. And dodged another punch. You kept on dodging and punching until everyone was down, in a whining mess. You then whispered in the ear of the leader " Try to attack, rape or punch another person and I will find you and skin you alive, deal?" He quickly screamed " I won't! I promise!". You smiled warmly at him " Good boy. " and then you turned to see three persons at the threshold of the temple. You recognised the Ancient One and Wong but the man next to them had an unfamiliar face. You looked at his elfin cheekbones, the sparkling in his eyes and the Cloak of Levitation floating behind him as a faithful pet. You raised an eyebrow, slightly confused at how this relic was in the hands of this man. This cloak was one of the famous relics of the strongest magician. Yours was quite powerful too, an armour made in the same matter than the cloak. You smiled at your friends:
" Hello everyone!"
Wong had a big smile plastered on his face and you saw the stranger startled by the reaction of the Asian magician who hugged me tightly. His strong arms wrapped around my waist and held me up in the air, pulling me very tightly against him.
" I..I can't breathe Wong", you said, trying to catch your breath back.
" Y/N, I haven't seen you for years! Where have you been?" he asked.
Released from his hug, you scratched the back of your head, your long hair swinging on your shoulders
" I travelled a lot, trying to find my path and now I'm back"
" Welcome back Y/N", said the Ancient One before stepping into the temple, followed by Wong. Now you were just the two of you, the stranger and you. You did the first step.
" So, hello again, I'm Y/N." You raised your hand, ready to shake his.
His sparkling blue eyes settled upon you, observing your figure with an intensity which sent shivers down your spine. Your heart sped up and a hint covered your cheeks. The man slowly raised his hands, gently shaking yours and said:
" I'm Stephen Strange. Doctor Stephen Strange."
You furrowed.
" You're a doctor? "
" Neurosurgeon to be more specific".
The moment your hand released his, your outfit started to wiggle as if it had suddenly activated to something. Then you saw the cloak of Stephen jumped out of his shoulders and wrapped you in a warm crimson embrace. Its hems tangled around your body as if your tunic and the cloak had just found each other again and were hugging each other. They seemed to know each other which was kind of strange for two relics.
" What the hell is going on? you yelled, trying to move your arms.
Stephen came closer, trying to get his cloak back but it was stuck " I have no idea. It never does that before. What did you do?" He asked, focussed.
" How am I supposed to know? I just came back!" You replied trying to walk a little but the cloak had a grasped all around your body, from your ankles to your neck. Wong came back, wondering what were holding the both of you so long. When he saw your figure wrapped like a Christmas gift next to a puzzled Stephen, he burst out laughing, holding the column for support. The Ancient One arrived a few seconds later and looked at a laughing Wong with her transparent gaze. Then her gaze fell on you and you saw her face changed into a smirk for the first time. She approached you closer, the freaking smirk still on her face.
" It's been a long time since the two relics found each other again. Two lover's relics made out of the same material. They are like magnets as you can see Y/N."
" Hum, hum." you hummed, frowning as she didn't do anything, " How long is it going to last?" you asked when the cloak encompassed you tighter. She shook her head " I don't know, maybe a few hours."
Your eyes widened at her response. She turned her back to you and left the room, taking Wong with her. " Wait!" you said but she kept on walking away. You jumped with feet together, in an attempt to follow her.
" Y/N! Stop moving, you're going to..."
BAM! You just fell on the ground face down.
" fall." he dropped, sighing. He approached your laying figure and turned you on your back, so you were facing him. Your eyes locked with his and felt into the bright blue ocean of his dilated pupils. You noticed how his features were so slender and his sharp glistening cheekbones. His black hair pushed back against his scalp and the few white strands of hair against his temple. Lost in contemplation, you didn't hear Wong stepped in the room again and said " Y/N, your room is ready!" then he headed to the library chuckling slightly. You turned your head to look elsewhere than the magician above your form, a blush covering your cheeks.
" I'm going to carry to your room. You're not in position to argue, Y/N.", he said before you opened your mouth. You sighed and nodded. His muscled arms wrapped against your body held you tightly against him and you settled your face in the crook of his neck without thinking. You closed your eyes and hummed in delight.
" You're tired, aren't you?" he asked, walking through the corridors.
" Yes, I haven't slept for two days to come here as soon as I can. I just didn't want to stay in a hotel for a night or two so I travelled non-stop until I arrived here".
" Well, you're home, now". He said, turning his face to look at you and just faced the softness of your hair. So he kind of put his chin on your head, breathing softly. After a few minutes, he stopped and asked:
'' Y/N?"
"Hum?"
" Where is your room?" You chuckled and looked at him in the eyes.
" And you 're asking only now? Bad Stephen", you said, watching over your environment. " Okay, turn on your left and it will be the first blue door. " You groaned when you felt the cloak tightening around your form. Your outfit was warming and you hoped the encounter between the two relics won't last too long. Stephen opened the door with his foot ( how was he supposed to do?) and dropped you delicately on the bed. He removed the hair which had fallen in front of your eyes. "Thanks" you murmured.
" What a quite strange meeting, right, Doctor Strange?" you said trying to relax under his heavy gaze.
He smiled a bit and nodded.
" How long had you been here?" you asked, trying to look at him despite the clutching cloak.
" A few months. What you did earlier was quite amazing."
" Thank you, Stephen. We could train together if you want." you offered with a warm smile.
" With pleasure," He said. He was going to leave the room when you said:
" Wait, don't leave. Stuck like that I felt like a mummy and maybe we could know each other better? Except if you have something to do. " you mumbled eventually not looking at him in the eyes.
" Okay," he said with a smile. He took the chair and sat in front of you.
" So, you're a neurosurgeon? What is it exactly?" you asked with curiosity.
He grinned at you and started to explain what was his job. You talked for hours, laughed together and your heart sped up when he would help you moving when you were in an uncomfortable position. The sun slowly made his road to the nightfall and you fell asleep, soothed by Stephen's voice. You didn't notice the cloak softly detached from you to come back on Stephen's shoulders and the soft blanket put on your sleepy form, neither the kiss on your cheek even if your whole body shivered at the warm touch. All you know was that you had fallen for the magician and you hoped it wasn't just a dream.
A/N: So what did you think?
