The growing pain of the loss of a beloved one had gripped your heart, its piercing claws clutching your organic matrice. You had lost your dad, your precious dad. The one who had raised you because your mum had died at your birth.
" He killed him" you thought angrily, punching the wooden table with your fist.
Him.
"Kaeclius," you muttered under your breath, closing your eyes in anger. It happened two days ago, when with Doctor Strange, you were at the Sanctum of New trying to find a relic for you. You had found it: a beautiful royal blue armur which underlines all your curves. It was made of one of the strongest fabric ever found and a powerful protection spell surrounded your relic. Stephen had hugged you, smiling proudly at you and a deep blush had covered your cheeks. When then you had returned to Kamar-Taj in order to show your relic to the Ancient One, she had revealed you the unofrtunate news: the death of your father. You had fallen on your knees, a wave of sorrow hanging on your frail shoulders. Immediately, the magician had tried to comfort you ever since but you wer lost in the loop of sorrow. He had tried to cheer you up multiple times by bringin you your favourite tea, making jokes,... but it didn't work.
That day, you decided to be stronger, and to do that, you had to train. So you stepped in the living room. No one was here and silent wrapped your body in a soft stroke. You rose your hands and created a Mirror Dimension. You walked in it and invoked different things to train one like a huge punching ball, a set of dummies,... You closed your eyes for a second and let all your rage be formed into your fists. Small bright pentagrams started to grow until a gigantic tongue of flame spread out of your shields and attacked the dummies. You controled the blazing flame into a mischievous snake which was attacking different dummies. Tears were falling down your cheeks, imagining the way Kaecilius would be killed by your burning snake. You played with it for a moment and then made it disappear. You took the gloves you had brought and put them on. Then you started to punch as if your life depended on it. You lost count of time cuz all mattered was the strong beating of your heart ponding into your chest. You kicked, dodges and ounched the punchbag again and again.
Stephen looked for the Ancient One. He had been unable to find you the whole morning and he started to worry about you. He had never senn you in such a state, broken and in pain. When he finally found the Ancient One, she was in the living room, drinking her tea.
" Do you know where Y/N is?"
She put her cup of tea down and looked at Stephen with her piercing grey eyes.
" She is here"
Stephen's eyebrows frowned. He turned on himself, observing his surroundings but there was no sign of you.
" I can't see her, Ancient One. I need to talk to her. She is falling on the path of despair. I can't let her do that. Please tell me where she is".
" You do see, you just don't observe ( BBC Sherlock 's reference guys!) your surrounding hard enough. Remember what I told you when we first met"
The storming blue eyes of Stephen widened when he realised what the Ancient One meant. " She is in the Mirror Dimension" he whispered. The female magician nodded and got up, leaving the room in silent steps.
Stephen turned on himself and focused, sensing the distinct note of the Mirror Dimension. Using his powers he entered in it and watched in complete astonishment the burst out of fury Y/N had made. The floor was broken, burning wood sticks were dismantled of the floor, a dark smoke was floating in the air next to her, various part of dummies were scattered everywhere and the punching bag was ripped, thousand pieces of sand spread out around her sobbing form. She was panting, her fists still clenched and her back was facing the magician so she didn't see him. Stephen slowly made his way to her. He said his name tenderly, trying to wake her up from her state: " Y/N."
Her closed eyes suddenly opened and she jumped out of his reach. Stephen's expression changed into a hurt one but he quickly recomposed himself. He came closer to you and your tensed body gradually relaxed. You wiped your tears and looked at your friend and secret crush. You knew you had no chance with him, he was with Christine Palmer, or so you thought, but it didn't keep your heart to speed up at his sight. His red cloak gently floating beside him as his loyal follower and soemtimes you wondered if you could wear it just to feel what it looks like to wear a cape. You snapped out of your daydream when Stephen spoke:
" Look at what you've done Y/N. You have to stop. Don't let anger devour you. You better than this."
You locked your eyes with his, and saw Stephen shivered under your strong gaze.
" Don't tell me what I have to do. You are not my father, Stephen"
He frowned and stopped at a meter from you.
" I know. I'm so sorry for what happened but I don't think that your father would like to see you like if he was still with us".
You blinked at him, a shot of sorrow wrapping your teary eyes. You groaned and passed him, leaving the Mirror Dimension, Stephen on your tail. He called you but you kept walking, new tears falling on your cheeks. You were all of sudden stopped in your tracks a hand grabbed your arms and pulled you towards the strong body of Doctor Strange. Latter said in a serious tone:
- Don't leave like that Y/N! Listen, I know you are in pain but you can't let that pain eat every beautiful piece of you. You are stronger than that I know it.
You responded harshly:
- How could you possibly understand, Strange? And why do you suddenly care about me, huh?
His grip on you tightened and you winced:
" The day I lost the stability of my hands, I lost a part of me. I know it's not the same as you but it is the same pain. You lost something you'll never get back and that is what is painful." he said gravely. He added " And I care about you Y/N. Deeply."
You blushed at his words and looked at his features: the way his eyes were shining in the room, the way the reflect of the sunrise brighten his cheekbones, his few white strands on his temples and his crimson lips. You released yourself from his grip and led by your anger you turned your back at him and kept going;
" I will make Kaecilius pay for what he has done, Stephen"
Immediately he gripped your shoulders and announced loudly:
" Don't say that,Y/N. You are NOT a killer. You are a magician, you help people not the opposite. Remember who you are. "
The fury in your heart slowly faded and you realized he was right. " I help people, I save lifes", you repeated yourself. The magician saw your helplessness and pushed your body towards his arms, hugging you tightly against him. You hugged back, pulling him closer to you, gripping the hem of his cloak for support. You felt his chin rests on the top of your head and he whispered reassuring words to you.
" Thank you Stephen" you said quietly.
He smiled and said in your hair:
" Anything for you darling. I'll always be here for you."
Then you realized you were hugging him and pulled back. He frowned at your reaction while you blushed heavily. You stuttered:
" I..euh, sorry for that. I shouldn't have.."
" Well, I don't mind hugging you, you know?"
You rose your head to look at him, a wide smile on his face. He gently cupped your cheeks and pecked your lips. In shock, you didn't move. He pulled back and looked in your eyes, searching for a drip of rejection. He was met with a pair of lips crushing and his collar being violently putting down by you. He smiled into the kiss and kissed you back. When you both parted for air you heard the door of Mordo's room opened and the black magician said: " About damn time!"
