"Alexa!" Soph calls out to me from downstairs
"Yeah?" I yell back
I hear her loud footsteps knowing her loud ass is coming up here. She busts through my door "Well damn Soph why don't you come in."
"Shut up smart ass," She laughs "Guess what we're doing tonight?"
"What?" I ask
"We are having dinner with Kira and her mom."
"Who?"
"Uh... Kira, Miles' girlfriend. You met her, he-"
"-Oh! Yeah. The sweet red head that was making out with my brother on our couch, great memories." I laugh turning back to my laptop
"Yep, they'll be here in two hours, this isn't a big deal but please at least look presentable." She smiles
"And what is that supposed to mean?" I turn back towards her
"Nothing." She laughs
"Girl. I always look presentable and sometimes my outfits are hot, so is there a certain thing I should wear?" I ask smiling
"A dress wouldn't be bad."
"What about a skirt and cute shirt? Dresses aren't really my thing, you would know."
"Fine, whatever. At least straighten your hair." She tells me then walks out of my room leaving my door open
"Ooh. You get on my nerves." I yell out to her throwing a shirt that was on my floor at the door, surprisingly... not closing it "I'm putting my hair in a ponytail just because you hate them!"
I hear her laugh downstairs making me want to bang my head on my desk. I'm not doing that though
Last night was actually fun, me and Kesten stayed up till like four in the morning. I would've never imagined staying up that late with him and let alone anyone
Getting up from my desk, I go to close my door making sure to slam it just so she could know that I just closed my door she left open. I go through my closet and pick out a pink sleeveless crop top with a pair of red high waisted pants and my basic silver sandals. I set the sandals away from the outfit, because I'm not wearing them just to annoy her. This is me and my sister for you, annoying the crap out of each other.I mean of course I'm going to put the sandals on because that would annoy the shit out of me, you know with being OCD about some things.
I also set my mascara and pink lipstick out for later, because I'm sure as hell not getting ready now. I laugh to myself
Deciding to ask Rae about the outfit choice I text her a pic of it asking for her opinion, when I know she'll be proud of me. Within a minute my phone dings
R- Niceeeee! And what are you doing tonight missy *suggestive emoji*
A- *laughing emoji* Shut up, we're having dinner with Miles' girlfriend and her mom... Soph told me to look presentable, idek what she was meaning, I always look presentable *rolling eyes emoji*
R- I wanna come! Please invite me!
A- Well how about you just show up when it starts so that way Soph can't make you leave?
R- Great plan... This is why we are best friends *kissy face emoji*
A- Alrighty then, I'll see you in an hour "please at least look presentable" -Soph
R- *3 laughing emoji's*
I put my phone away and head downstairs. Miles is on the couch with the TV on, smiling at his phone, not even paying attention to the TV.
"How long have you two been dating?" I ask leaning against the archway that connects the living room to the hallway.
I obviously scared him because he jumped when I said something. I laugh
"Uh-h, what?" He asks
"How long have you guys been dating?" I ask again walking to the couch and sitting down beside him
"Oh, uh, since, the beginning of school." He tells me looking away from me
"What?! How come you didn't tell me at least sooner?" I punch his shoulder
"Ow... Because I knew you and Soph would've done dinner sooner and I didn't want you guys to scare her off." He rubs his shoulder where I hit him
"You see this face?" I point to my offended facial expression "This is me offended."
"You're one to talk, you haven't even told Soph about your boyfriend." He tells me with raised eyebrows
"Okay... First of all, he's not even my boyfriend thank you. He just is one of my many distractions." I tell him
"So basically he's you fvck buddy." He states
"Shut up." I hot his shoulder in the same spot, snatch his phone out of his hands, and immediately jump off the couch and go behind it. He's already up and trying to chase me but I keep moving whenever he does.
"I just hope they don't scare you off." I say aloud mimicking his voice "They won't, I'm here for as long as you want me here" I mimic Kira's voice
"Shut up and give it back or I'll tell Soph about Jeremy." He threatens
"You wouldn't-"
"Soph!" He yells
"Okay, okay. Here." I throw him his phone back, him almost not catching it. "See you at dinner." I wiggle my eyebrows walking towards the stairs backwards
Heading back upstairs, I go to the bathroom to get the straightener and take it to my room. I plug it in, turn it on, and split my hair into sections. While it's heating up, I go ahead and put mascara on my top and bottom lashes then apply my lipstick
It only takes me like thirty minutes to straighten my hair so I go ahead and get dressed. The straightener beeps letting me know it's heated up
Thirty minutes later my hair is straightened and it a low ponytail
"Hey hoe!" Rae says as she busts up in my room and jumps onto my unmade bed
I notice she straightened her hair as well and is wearing a teal skater skirt with black elephants on it and a black short sleeve shirt tucked into the skirt with my all black vans I let her borrow like a week ago
"Zaymmm... Looking fine." I laugh
"Why thank you." She gets off my bed and bows "Can I tell you a secret?" I give her the look "Right of course, sorry, anyways guess what I'm doing after this dinner?" She asks
"What?" I wiggle my eyebrows
"Jay is taking me to a park, and guess what we're doing. We're doing yoga." She whispers the last part
I laugh. "Yoga. Hmm, what type of yoga?"
"I don't know, but I'm excited." She smiles and I swear if she tries to smile anymore, her face will crack "But knowing Jay, it's probably going to be hot yoga poses. If you know what I mean." She raises her eyebrows
I laugh again and put my arm around her shoulder "Come on, I think I hear people downstairs."
"That's right people, the two persons you have been waiting for are finally here." Rae announces when we're at the bottom of the stairs.
Kira and I'm presuming her mom, Miles, and Soph all turn their attention towards us. Kira giggles at us and her mom is giving Rae a weird look
"Dinner sounds good, right?" I ask linking my arm with Rae's and walk to the kitchen with everyone else following behind us
A little while later Soph and Cassie, Kira's mom, Rae and I, and Kira and Miles were all talking and eating.
"I'm surprised we haven't had you guys over for dinner sooner." Soph laughs taking a sip of her water
"Me too, your food is delicious." Cassie agrees
"What's his name?" Kira asks
I notice she's talking to me when I look up from my plate "Oh, uh, who?" I look at Miles, he has his head in his hands looking at his lap or phone, I presume
"Your boyfriend." She says as I go wide eyed looking at Miles, now knowing why he's looking down at his lap
"Boyfriend?" Soph asks with raised eyebrows
"Well, would you look at that. Looks like Miles and I need refills, Miles?" I nod my head towards the kitchen
He slowly gets up and begins to walk, but I get behind him and drag him to the kitchen slightly choking him on the way
"You twat!" I slap the back of his head before going to get me a soda out of the fridge
Walking back to the dining room I hit Miles harder on the back of his head again but harder. Finally sitting down Kira mouths 'sorry' to me from across the table. 'It's fine' I fake smile at her
"Boyfriend?" Soph asks again with raised eyebrows
"He's not my boyfriend." I glare towards Miles "The guy I punched in the face while running away from the house."
"Why were running from your house?" Cassie asks me looking confused
"U-Uh... Had to chase our cat but it was too late she was already gone." I make my eyes tear up wiping a nonexistent tear from my cheek
Her face immediately goes to a pained one "Oh, I u-h, I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean t-to."
"It's fine no one really knows." I say with sad eyes, Rae looking over at me with a deadpanned look on her face and a smirk
"Have you apologized to him yet?" Soph asks
"Yeah... Of course." Lie. I haven't apologized to him, I've kinda been avoiding him to be honest
I honestly don't know why I'm avoiding him, maybe I feel bad for punching him, or maybe I was using him for sex and just don't want to do that anymore
I don't know. I just feel like after the whole 'parents were murdered' I want to turn over a new leaf and stop doing bad things. You'd think I'd be doing the opposite, but surprisingly I don't want to. This might sound cheesy or be cliche, but I'm doing this for Rae. I'm tired of being a shitty best friend, best friends don't keep secrets they tell each other everything and I don't want to lie anymore.
Dinner was over a while after the run away cat story lie thing. Kira and Miles and cuddled up on the couch watching SpongeBob and laughing, while Cassie and Soph are attempting to bake something. I just hope they don't burn down the house.
"Well, have fun," I laugh "Don't do anything I wouldn't do." I wink
"But you'd do anything." She laughs coming to hug me
I hug her back as tight as I can "Exactly... I love you"
"I love you too." She squeezes me
"Like I really love you. I couldn't have asked for a better best friend. If you weren't here I don't know what I would do." I tell her pushing her back and looking into her eyes.
Her eyes water up "Aw... I don't know what I would do either."
"Alright you need to go and be with her man candy, plus I might start crying and won't stop if we keep talking about how much I love you," I laugh and fix her beautiful straightened hair.
I hug her again and push her out the door. Right before she gets in her car she humps the hair and makes sexual noises "Go!" I laugh. Right before I shut the door she yells out she loves me and I return it then go into living room.
I see the couple kissing and mentally gag at young love "No making out down here." Long pause giving them a stern look before smirking "Do that upstairs."
Kira giggles while Miles throws a pillow at me. "Don't do anything else though. You're old enough so groping and kissing is okay. I'm serious."
"Let me guess, you're going to tell us to keep the door open?" Kira asks rolling her eyes
I laugh like really laugh and clutch my stomach still laughing. After like two minutes of me laughing, Kira giving me a weird look and Miles smirking I speak "Fuck no." I laugh again "Who do you think I am? I'm this douche's sister. It's nice to officially meet you." I laugh and give her a handshake
"But seriously, you don't want to know the things I've done in a bedroom and I'd be damned if the doors were ever opened. I'm not saying you guys should do things like that with the doors closed. J-Just all you guys are allowed to do in this house is grope and kiss."
And with that I walked into the kitchen to see a fire coming from, I'm guessing a pie. Yeah. A pie. Soph is pouring water on the pie while Cassie is laughing with squinted eyes. I start laughing and Soph's attention snaps to me "Don't stop what you're doing on my account." I laugh "Good luck with that sis, I'm going to my room. Oh and p.s. Miles and Kira are hanging out in his room." I tell them heading towards the stairs
Walking into my room. I turn on my light and see my closet doors open with obviously someone standing in them "Whoever your bitch ass is, I have skills and can beat yours."
Kesten steps away from the closet and I punch him straight in the nose
"Fuck! Why do you always aim for the nose?"
"If you don't shut your man tits up... I'll hit you again there are parents downstairs."
"Well maybe if you hadn't have punched me I wouldn't have raised my voice."
"Well... If you're idiotic self didn't sneak into my room I wouldn't have punched you. How did you even get in here anyways?" I ask
"The basic cliche, climbing through the window technique." He smirks
"Awesome. Now your about to do the cliche climbing out of the window technique." I smile and shove him towards the window. "Bye. Leave." I command standing there impatiently looking at him, he just stares right back
A few minutes pass and he decides to speak "Why can't I stay here?" He whines like a little man baby and pouts his lips which is actually really attractive
"Because, baby needs to go home and handle his own business." I tell him in a mom voice
"Baby doesn't want to go home. Baby wants to hang out with his hot baby friend"
"You're not gonna leave are you?" I ask irritated slightly
"Nope." He tells me popping the 'p'
I walk over to my desk which is right next to the window and sit down to finish my project I didn't get to finish earlier. I have a second period literature power point to get done and with my luck it's due tomorrow and I was kinda busy this past week and the last. Especially the last week
Kesten ends up sitting on my bed and stays on his phone. After each slide, I look at him through the mirror on my desk. He'll look at me sometimes and my eyes immediately dark back to my laptop screen. This kinda went on for an hour.
Someone knocks on the door and me being the forgetful idiot I am, I invite them in. Cassie's eyes first dart towards Kesten then she looks at me "Uh. Kira and I are leaving, I saw your light on so I decided to say goodbye." She says
I stand up from my desk and walk over to her "I had fun tonight. You have an amazing daughter and It was great meeting you." I laugh and give her a hug. "I just want to tell you before you think something of this," I gesture towards Kesten and I "The guy we were talking about at the table is Jeremy and he's not my boyfriend, but this is Kesten and he's my... f-friend." I tell her
She smiles and puts her hand on my shoulder "I wasn't thinking anything of it sweetheart. I think your a responsible young lady and you know what your doing." With that she waves at Kesten and shuts my door behind her
I stand there for a few seconds staring at my door and smiling about her compliment before Kesten clears his throat. I look at him and he's smiling at me.
"What?" I ask walking back to my desk, sitting down, and spinning to face him in my spiny chair
"Nothing." He laugh "It's just nice to see you smiling."
I blush slightly and tuck my hair behind my ear "It's nice to be smiling." I smile looking back at my finished project and close my laptop before getting up and walking to my bed.
He sits up against my pillow crossing his legs in front of himself while I do the same thing sitting in front of him at the end of my bed
"Today was a great day. I slept in, did some of my school work. If I going to be honest today was the best day I've had since my parents died." I smile
"That's great, I'm glad."
Turning my back towards him I uncross my legs and lean back until my head is in Kesten's lap and I'm looking up at him. I feel his body stiffen and I smirk to myself. "You know, I actually don't hate you being here."
He smirks "Wow... You're admitting to liking my presence. I'm shocked."
I laugh and flick his under chin "Shut up."
He leans back and we just sit for a while
"So are you gonna go or?" I ask and get no response. After waiting a few seconds I look up at him and he's asleep
His lips are slightly parted and his chest is moving at a normal pace. Since I'm turning over a new leaf I guess I can add Kesten into my new leaf... If that makes any sense
All I'm saying is that, I'm going to try to not be a bitch to him anymore
I get off the bed and stretch his legs out to take his shoes off. After that I struggle to grab the blanket from under him because of his fat and heavy ass. He starts to laugh making it known that he is in fact... awake
"You're an ass." I state while still trying to hank the blankets from under him. A few seconds of him laughing pass before he lifts himself up, then I successfully covered the ass with my comforter.
He laughs while I grab the fluffy blanket at the end of bed and walk towards my door
"What are you doing?" He asks and I look at him and he's wearing a frown
"Uh, what does it look like I'm doing? I'm going downstairs." I tell him a duh tone
"Why?" He asks scooting towards the wall "There's room."
I give him a deadpanned look "Your serious?"
"Yeah."
"Fine." I smile and sigh, he smiles right back
I get under my comforter and we both just lay there on our backs in the comfortable silence "We have school tomorrow."
"I know."
"So are you gonna like ride the bus with me or is your car here?"
"I guess I could ride the bus with you, it would give me a reason to come back over here, so I can get my car."
"Okay."
"No reason that that's stupid?"
"We're friends right?" I ask looking at him to see he's full on looking at me, laying on his side
"I guess, if you want to be." He tells me while I turn on my side now fully facing him
"I'm turning over a new leaf, the least I could do is not be an uptight bitch to you. I'm quitting drugs and alcohol, for Rae. From here on out, I'm not being a shit excuse of a best friend or human." He nods his head in approval
"Goodnight Kesten." I close my eyes
"Goodnight Alexa." He says tucking my hair behind my ear
