A/N: Newest poem, after a year. A collaboration with ScarletBlazingSoul. She wrote every second stanza.

DUSK AND DAWN

In the deep dark'ning sky, I blindly fumble

For a rare, intoxicating balm;

Brews it the rankling flame of hate

From the shades of lying calm.

Soon the night of pensive dreaming

Into passive morn shall break,

And jaded heart, though barely beating,

Fate shall find for healing’s sake.

In the pitch-black of stormy shadow

My twisted heaven lends a taste;

I drank it, each guilty drop

Before it leaves me in its haste.

I have walked so long in shadows,

Lived a life that e’er repeats,

But time has come to conquer hist’ry,

Cyclic chaos to defeat.

My vengeance, my sweet, lasting justice,

Wipe with fire my vain despair;

If lament affords me no sweet perdition

What to live for will be there?

I shall flee this starless prison –

Darkness brings no sweet relief.

Its answers all shall stay encrypted:

Past perception, past belief.
