I walked downstairs where the rest of the boys were, now. They were either watching TV, looking through the fridge and pantry, or sitting on the barstools on their phones.
I paced back and forth across the living room, them looking over at me occasionally.
"Bruh will you chill out? I can't see!" Jock said.
"No! My parents don't know I live in an apartment full of boys! How are they gone react? How is my dad gone react?" I said.
"Bruh, it shouldn't be that serious. If you're okay, then no need to stress," O.K. said.
"It's different. If one of y'all was living with all girls, your parents really wouldn't care probably. Cause y'all boys. I'm a girl!"
"What's your point?" Ross asked, looking up slowly from his phone.
I just rolled my eyes.
"You know what, just never mind I even brought this up," I said, fanning them off.
Then the doorbell rang. I shrieked.
"Bruh," Trent said, holding his arms out in a 'Wtf?' manner.
"My bad," I said, going to the door. I looked through the peephole and sighed from relief.
"It's just Avery," I said.
"Oh," they said, and went back to what they were doing.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey bitch! They here yet?" Avery asked.
"Naw, not yet. Should be soon," I said, playing with my fingers.
"Girl why are you so nervous? Chill out!" She said.
"I told her the same thing," Jock said.
"Shut up," I said.
He just shook his head. Then the doorbell rang again. This time, all the boys stood up.
"Okay, if that's them, act normal," I said.
"Imma act normal. Tell yourself that," Cameron said.
"Why wouldn't I act normal around my own parents?" I asked.
He shrugged. I fanned him off and opened the door.
In walked my parents and Chris. I mugged him. He smirked.
"Hey, ma, hey daddy," I said, hugging them both.
"Hey baby," my mama said.
"Wassup Princess?" My daddy asked. He looked at my hat and pointed to it. "You done lost your mind right?"
"Suck it," i said, pointing to my cap.
He just shook his head and sighed. "This girl gone give me brain problems."
I laughed. Then everything was quiet. I looked at my parents and noticed they were looking at the boys. The boys were looking right back at them.
"Um, Alaya, where are your roommates? And why its so many boys here?" My mom asked.
"Yeah, answer this please," my dad said, stepping forward.
"Mama, daddy, I got something I need to tell you. These are my roommates."
They didn't really seem shocked. Their expressions were unreadable.
"Oh," my mama said.
"Haha," Chris said.
"Chris, you knew?" My daddy asked.
"Yeah. Just found out yesterday," he said, smirking.
My daddy slapped him in the back of the head hard af.
"What was that for?"
"Keeping secrets," dad said.
"I didn't even–"
"Shut up," my daddy said.
"Alaya, I don't think this is a good idea. You sure you don't wanna just come back home and–" I cut her off.
"See this is why I didn't wanna tell y'all. Y'all gone want me to move back, but I'm happy here. I mean, they annoying, but I'm good where I'm at. Plus, they gave me the master bedroom while they sharing. And if you think they was gone do something to me—dad—they already established if they wanted to, they would have," I said.
"What?!" My daddy said, stepping forward.
"Whoa," I heard most of the boys go.
"Calm down daddy. It was an empty statement, don't take it to heart," I said, gently pushing him back.
"You sure you wanna stay here Alaya?" He asked. Whenever he calls me by my real name he's serious. He usually calls me Laya or Lay or Princess.
"Yes, I do," I said.
They were quiet, then they went, "Okay."
I squealed. "Yes!" I did a little happy dance.
"You doing a little much in that dress Alaya. And why is it so short? Go take it off," my dad said.
"Then I would be naked. That's worse than this," I said.
He smiled, knowing I wasn't going to take it off. "You got that one."
"Oh, yeah, by the way, imma murder y'all child," I said, pointing at Chris
"Chris, what you do?" My daddy asked.
"Oh, we can discuss that at his funeral," I said. "But let me introduce y'all to my roommates!"
"Let them introduce they self, they got mouths," my mama said.
I held my hands up in surrender and stepped back.
D stepped up first. "My name Demarcus, but everybody call me D."
My father shook his hand and my mama hugged him. "Nice to meet you D."
"I'm Taj," Taj said. My dad looked at him.
"What's your real name son?"
"That's it. It's Taj."
"Oh, how you spell that?"
"T-A-J."
"Christina remember that. If we have another boy, that's what we naming him," my dad said.
I burst out laughing. "Dead!"
"I'm Sauce, but my real name Shaun," Sauce said.
My mouth dropped open.
"What?" Sauce asked.
"You don't look like you would be a Shaun!" I said. He smacked his teeth and shook his head.
"Anyway."
"I'm Ryan," Ryan said. He shook my father's hand and hugged my ma.
"Ross," he said.
"Y'all gotta excuse Ross. He's a little off," I said.
"Naw, that's Cameron!" Ross said.
"Uh uh, that's Taj!" Cameron said.
"Honestly it's all y'all crazy niggas!" I said.
"I'm Cameron, but he just said it, so I'm irrelevant," he said.
"My name O.K. But my real name Omari Kingston. I go by O.K. for safety reasons," O.K. said.
"I'm Jock," Jock said, kissing my mother's hand.
"Ooh, he's a charmer!" My mom said.
"Aye, back up, she married. You see this ring on her finger? Could you afford that?" My dad asked.
"Probably not, but I would do what I gotta do to get it for her if it makes her happy. Could you do that?" Jock shot back. 'Ohhs' erupted through the apartment.
"Ion like him," my dad said.
"Nice to meet you too, sir."
"I'm Trent," Trent said, holding out his hand for my dad to shake it. He shook his hand then hugged my mom
"You smell like my husband used to," she said.
"Oh, it's Alaya gave me some cologne he used to wear because Taj broke mine earlier," Trent said.
"Oh, well that was nice of her," my mom said.
My daddy smirked. "She gave you some cologne, huh?"
Trent smiled, kinda unsure. "Yes sir."
My dad continued to smirk. "I like him."
"Dang, he like one of the brothers but dislike the other," Sauce said.
"Wait, Trent and Jock brothers?" I asked.
"Yeah, you ain't know?"
"Ain't nobody tell me!" I said.
"Has anybody noticed I have just completely been excluded from all conversations?" Avery asked. I lowkey forgot she was here.
"Oh, hey Avery," Chris said.
"Hey Chris," she mumbled.
Her and Chris get along good af, but she said sometimes he just be plain aggy.

Just a simple little update before I watch my recorded episode of Bring It! then go to sleep.
I'm supposed to be going to see 'When The Bough Breaks' tomorrow, but ain't nobody confirmed it yet so who knows?
