“Come on Kadaj, we got to get going!” Kei starts thrashing me around. I shoot out my arm, and grab his shoulder.
“I’m awake.” His grasp on me releases and he rushes out of the burrow. I sit up fixing my long black hair, sometimes it was such a burden, but I saw no use in cutting it off either. A lot of people made jokes about it back at the government building, but I just ignored them.
When I make my out of the haven, I watch Kei run all over the place bring chased by something that’s half hoping, half running. It’s Sakura, man she is as cute as I thought.
“Don’t be too heedless, brother.” I call out, just as he disappears into the trees. “Kyoko, you keep tabs on Kei, as I and Hikaru find some food.” The bear grumbles, and Hikaru makes his way to me. I board him, and we start off.
Around two hours pass. In this time I have gathered two deer, and three squirrels. Although we agree, it’s enough we keep strolling on. Hikaru smells something out of the ordinary, so he wants to investigate. As we get closer, I can smell it too.
The scent of a fire that had recently died out fills my nostrils. I can tell someone is near. For all that’s good in the world, I hope Skylar is there. We stand at the edge of the tree line, in front of us looks just like a camp ground. There is a fire pit with logs set around it, and farther back is a rock shelter.
“Skylar, are you here?” I call out. I know it’s a bad idea, but I walk out into the space, leaving Hikaru at the tree line. “Skylar?” Someone steps out of the cave. It isn’t Skylar, but it’s a girl. She has dark pin straight hair, and pale red eyes.
“Who are you and why do you want Skylar?” Her stern voice is supposed to seem threatening, but I’ve heard worse. Especially considering where I worked. Another girl struts out to join her. This one is blond and seems even more menacing than the other.
“You took her and came back just you seemed innocent, didn’t you?”
“Of course he didn’t! Our precious little Kadaj would never do that.” A hand lands on my shoulder. I jump at the feeling of it. I shrug it off, ignoring the person behind me.
“I didn’t take her. I honestly just want to see her. I’m-”
“Here to take her in, so she can be used as a pawn in the war.” Akaito steps forward in to the space next to me. I look at him with anger in my eyes. “It is the truth, brother. Why not come out straight and tell them?”
The blond girl goes through many poses and next thing I know she’s surrounded by water. She shoots it towards us, and soon both Akaito and I are encased by ice.
I was told this information when I was given the mission. These girls are one of the seven people I’m supposed to keep an eye out for besides Skylar. She has also escaped from the same facility. I’m amazed I can even run all this through my mind, considering all the pain I’m in.
“Please stop! I mean no harm! This is guy is the one you have to worry about!” I to escape, ready to explain everything, but the blond girl is surrounded by more water, ready to encase our heads as well.

“I’m sorry but we can’t trust anyone at this point in time.” Water comes like a tsunami, but I’m quicker in transforming, then I break out of the ice and jump out of the way. I look over in hope that Akaito wasn’t as lucky, but as the water clears I see him standing there with a smug look.
Without meaning to I cause her to lose her concentration on Akaito, and now he’s heading straight for her. Of course he’s using his teleportation powers so he’s moving so fast they don’t realize it.
“Watch out!” I yell as I jump in front of her just to collide with Akaito. Of course he’s stronger, so I end up collapsing to the ground as he just stands there smiling over me.
“What’s going on Kiera?!” I turn my head to see a tall guy. I know who he is too.

“This guy wants to see Skylar, and someone is here to take her in to the government to use her for war, but I’m still confused as to whom these people are though, and who is who.” Kiera says. Akaito is making his way towards the cave again. I get on my feet so swiftly that it makes Kiera jump back. We clash again and this time I push him back and he crashes into one of the logs.
“No one will be taking Skylar anywhere!” Out of the corner of my eye I see two more people appear.

“So you say.” He pulls his sword out its sheath, poised to attack. I unsheathe mine as well.
“Back off this is my fight.” Meela steps forward.
“How do you expect to beat me? It’s going to be tuff possessing some who is transporting from place to place don’t you think?” He starts forward popping up in closer and closer. Meela just stands there not sure what to do. I try to make my in front of her, but I’m too slow. He’s now behind her and she falls to the ground clutching her shoulder.
“You guys take care of her. I’ll take get of Akaito.” I shout, as I run towards Akaito. Just as I’m about to slice him in half, he disappears. I look to the tree line and find him there. I get in the position to charge again.
“Hang on.” I look to my right as someone walks up. “You’re not doing this alone.” I toss him a sword. He winks, and also readies to charge.

I nod and head towards Akaito. Axel stays in place, and when he transports, he will head for him then, and so on.
Our plan fails epically. Both Axel and I are out of breath and power. The place is trashed as well. “Well that was fun, but I must go now.” he turns and starts to walk into the trees, but he stops. “Oh Kadaj, the Pres isn’t going to be happy to hear about your betrayal.” He disappears in the forest.
“So your name’s Kadaj.” He puts out his hand. “Nice to meet you, I’m-”
“Axel Emerson. I know.” I don’t look at him. I know if I do I’ll just see a face of disgust. “Just watch out for Akaito, he’s not only a transporter, but he can also make you think he’s someone else, like an illusion. There’s also a girl. Her name is Jasmine. Keep an eye out for her too. I have to go now . . . make sure Skylar stays safe, please.” I sheath my sword and run into the foliage. I stop a few feet in, then turn around and head back in the direction. I actually turn back to get Hikaru, I hope he’s still there.
“Sorry, Hikaru, I got kind of busy.” I say as I pet him. I look over into the battlefield. Everyone has gone in the cave to take care of Meela I’m guessing. I start to walk away, but something enters the space, that catches my attention. Three figures.

Axel and Jayias come running out of the cave, cautiously. When he sees who it is though, he runs to hug Skylar. I’ll admit I am jealous, but she doesn’t remember me, and it would be dangerous if she did.
They all run into the cave, and a cloaked figure comes out. I haven’t seen him before, and I was alerted of his escape. He walks over to what use to be the fire pit. He bends down and picks up some of the ash. He rubs it through his fingers, and then pulls down his hood. He runs his hands through his soft black hair.
I try hard to keep from gasping, but I can’t. He looks up, alert. He pulls his hood back up and I turn running, motioning for Hikaru to follow, which he does.
I can’t believe he’s there with them. I know I must get Kei, Kyoko, and Sakura packed up, because we have to move closer to where they are. I have to make sure Skylar is safe from him. He’s the most dangerous person for her to be around. I’ve only seen him in pictures, but I know him anywhere and there’s no mistaking it.
This guy . . . he’s the creator of the Haldrin experiment. He’s the man who sent me to retrieve Skylar. He’s the President.
