- the next day -
I was sitting by the pool area of the hotel with all the girls. We talked about various subjects for hours.
Juvia: "And that's the story of why Juvia doesn't trust old ladies anymore."
She says as she finishes telling her story.
Erza: "I see..."
Lucy: "Poor Juvia..."
Wendy: "Wow...I never knew old ladies could be that mean."
Milliana: "Same..."
Carla: "That old lady was rude, uneducated and selfish."
Kagura: "Agreed."
Yukino: "Mhm.."
Feeling like lightening everyone's mood I attempt to change the subject to something more fun.
Lucy: "So.....how has everyone felt having the three guilds mixed up like this for a short vacation?"
Yukino: "I love it!"
She yells.
Wendy: "Me too!"
Erza: "It's quite relaxing."
Erza states with a smile.
Kagura: "It is indeed."
Kagura agrees as she lays back on her pool chair.
Milliana: "It's amazing I get to play with all the dragon slayer's kitties!"
Milliana shouts excitedly as she pets Carla.
Carla: "We're exceeds not cats."
Carla corrects Milliana while moving away, avoiding anymore petting.
Juvia: "Juvia is enjoying it very much although she wishes she could spend more time with Gray-sama."
Juvia says in a low tone, showing some sadness.
Lucy: "But he's on the vacation too so why can't you spend time with him?"
I asked curiously as I looked at her.
Juvia: "Gray-sama told Juvia he had man things to do with the other guys so Juvia can't be there with him right now."
Juvia explains to me in a sincere tone.
Lucy: "He's just hanging with the guys for a bit, don't be worried Juvia. You still have time to be with him."
I giggle while patting her back to comfort her.
Juvia: "Arigato Lucy! Juvia is glad that you helped cheer her up!"
She perks up with a sparkle of hope in her eye. I really do hope Natsu's plan works, Juvia has been in love with Gray for so long. He should give her a straight answer already.
Lucy: "No problem! What are friends for? Right?"
I say in a cheerful tone.
Juvia: "Lucy."
Lucy: "Yeah?"
Juvia: "Juvia was wondering how did your date with Natsu go?"
She says causing my eyes to widen.
Lucy: "W-What...?"
I stuttered, quite surprised that she'd bring that up but then again we're a group of friends. They suspect me to tell them everything.
Wendy: "You two were looking so fancy."
Wendy states with a huge smile.
Yukino: "I never thought I'd see Natsu in a suit."
Erza: "Date? Natsu? Why wasn't I told about this? I feel hurt..."
Erza says while looking down.
Milliana: "Waaaaah?"
Milliana seemed to be surprised as well. Her jaw hung open as she looked at me in disbelief.
Juvia: "Erza don't feel bad, Lucy didn't say anything to Juvia or the others. Juvia and everyone saw them last night."
Juvia explains to Erza. While they talk I take this to my advantage and quietly get out of my chair. Tip toeing away for my escape.
Erza: "Not to fast."
I hear Erza say as I felt a hand grab onto the back part of my bathing suit. I squirmed a little but not too much, knowing that I could end up topless if I did. Sighing in defeat a take a few steps back. She lets go and sits me down on my chair.
Erza: "Explain."
Lucy: "Uhh..."
I trailed off, not really knowing what to say. I know it's a fake relationship and that I can't tell anyone the truth but they're my friends....I don't want to lie. I gently bite my tongue, thinking of what to say.

Natsu's P.O.V.
The guys and I were now on our way back to the hotel. We just finished doing a little training so we decided to rest for awhile. The popsicle prince was pissed that I whooped his butt.
Gray: "I swear next time I won't hold back."
He says for the forth or fifth time.
Natsu: "Yeah, Yeah. Just admit it I beat you fair and square."
I say with a smirk, knowing I did.
Gray: "No! I had something in my eyes so I couldn't see!"
He tries to make excuses and in response I roll my eyes.
Natsu: "Mhmm sure."
I say sarcastically as I continue to walk.
Rogue: "I'm going to ask Kagura to... to..."
I hear Rogue say next to me while a nervous expression was clearly painted on his face.
Sting: "Goooo outtttt withhhhh youuu."
Sting says in a slow motion voice as if Rogue didn't understand well.
Rogue: "Right!"
Rogue yells as he lifts his fist.
Sting: "Come on! We're almost there!"
Sting yells back as he grabs Rogue's arm and drags him off the the hotel.
Natsu: "Speaking about going out with someone, you and I have to talk."
I say as I stop at my tracks and turns around to look at Gray.
Gray: "Whoa I'm into girls, sorry buddy but don't get your hopes up."
Gray jokes making me roll my eyes.
Natsu: "That's not what I meant!"
I yell as I punch his shoulder.
Gray: "Good, now what's up?"
He asks in an unfazed tone, trying to act tuff.
Natsu: "Well Lucy and I are dating and you know what that means, right?"
Gray: "That you're not into me?"
Natsu: "I'm being serious."
I say to him while a serious expression stays on my face.
Gray: "Alright, alright I'm done."
Gray says as he lifts his arms in defeat. Finally.... I thought while sighing.
Natsu: "You have to confess your love to Juvia and take her on a date."
I plainly explain to him.
Gray: "What!? That's none of your business!"
He shouts while looking dumbfounded.
Natsu: "Actually, it is. There's something you need to see."
I say with a smirk on my lips as I pull out a paper from my pockets. Unrolling it I show it at Gray.
Gray: "What? I already knew you had messy hand writing."
He messed with me, pushing one of my very few buttons left.
Natsu: "Ugh......read what it says."
I say in a serious tone, trying my best not to punch him.
Gray: "Ha, funny. Natsu we were drunk that night so this has no value."
He states as he points at the paper.
Natsu: "Oh really? How about your signature on the bottom?"
I ask mischievously.
Gray: "What!?"
He shouts while grabbing the paper.
Natsu: "This my friend is a contract."
Gray: "No! It's not!"
He rips it into two then freezes it and throws it on the floor, shattering it into a million pieces.
Natsu: "I have three more copies at home, one hidden in the guild and one is at my lawyers office."
I tell him as I place my hand on my chin and smirk a devilish smirk at him.
Gray: "..."
Natsu: "It's qualified."
Gray: "You take things way to seriously man...."
He says to me and in response I just shrug.
Natsu: "So what are you gonna do?"
I ask, curious to know his plan.
Gray: "I guess I'll just ask her on a date and confess."
He plainly says without thinking. That won't do...it'll be too fast...I won't be able to be with Lucy for a little while and Sting will take her. I thought to myself.
Natsu: "Take your time."
I advise him.
Gray: "Huh?"
He says as he tilts his head.
Natsu: "I mean the girl has been waiting for that moment for a long time. You should at least plan out something great for her."
I explain to him while using it to my advantage.
Gray: "You've been spending too much time with Lucy, you even sound like her."
He says to me and he wasn't wrong. I chuckled as I thought about it and I didn't sound like her. I guess she's rubbing off on me.
Natsu: "I'm just saying the truth."
Gray: "Well you are right, Ill think about how I'll do it for awhile."
Natsu: "Good."
I say with a small grin on my lips.
Gray: "How'd you do it?"
He questions me.
Natsu: "Nani?"
I asked confused, not knowing how to answer his question. Hell I didn't even know his question!
Gray: "You know, ask Lucy out. How'd you do it?"
Natsu: "I simply asked her if she'd go out on a date with me."
I explained.
Gray: "And she said yes? Poor girl having to deal with you."
I scoff at his reply.
Natsu: "Well yeah I mean if she said no I was going to push her off a cliff... Wait Oi! What is that supposed to mean!?"
I finish explaining as the ending became more into an argument.
Gray: "...you were going to push her off a cliff? That was your act of love?"
He asks while tilting his head to his right.
Natsu: "Aye! She said yes so I picked her up and jumped the cliff with her in my arms."
I laughed, remembering the moment.
Gray: "I really do feel bad for her now."
Natsu: "It was fun."
I reply with a glare.
Gray: "You know what....never mind I think it's best if I wait till we get back to the guild and ask Mirajane for some tips."
He says to me. Good I'll have more time with Lucy. Even if it's fake I't feels real to me.
Natsu: "That's a good plan."
Gray: "Yeah....and Natsu...I think you need some advice from her the most."
Natsu: "Whys that?"
I asked, confused.
Gray: "BECAUSE YOU PRACTICALLY SAID GO OUT WITH ME OR ILL PUSH YOU OFF A CLIFF!"
He raises his voice at me.
Natsu: "SHE HAD FUN!"
I raise mine in return.
Gray: "Did she really Natsu? Did she really?"
Gray asked while shaking his head and walking back to the hotel.
Natsu: "I swear....I'll..."
I start to say as I glare at him back when I then feel something rub itself on my legs. Looking down I notice a little white and black furred kitten. Picking it up I look at it.
Happy: "Natsu he's tiny."
Happy states as I look over at him. I almost forgot he was there after all that arguing I did with Gray.
Natsu: "Hey little guy, you lost?"
I ask as I check if it had a collar but it didn't. I guess you don't have an owner. I felt bad for it as I petted its head. The kitten purred and licked my finger.
Natsu: "I guess I have no choice! You're coming with me!"
I say as I hold it up and look at it with a smile. (Lion king music Jkjk XD)
Happy: "You can't have a cat! You have me!"
Happy yelled in an upset tone, figuring out he seemed jealous and thought he was going to be replaced I thought of something else.
Natsu: "No one can replace you Happy, plus I think I'll give it to Lucy."
I smile imagining her reaction.
Happy: "Oh! Aye! Give it to Lucy!"
Natsu: "First thing is first we need to give it a bath."

Lucy's P.O.V.
Lucy: "It was a nice dinner."
I said to them which was the truth. The dinner was nice, what can I say?
Juvia: "Juvia is excited for you two!"
Yukino: "What else happened!?"
Wendy: "Did you and Natsu-san kiss!?"
Wendy surprised me with her question causing me to blush as my eyes widened. I felt flustered and nervous.
Lucy: "W-We just walked around the town...a-and....n-no were not at that stage.."
I replied trying not to blow my cover while blushing of embarrassment.
Erza: "Yet."
Erza adds with a smirk on her face. Erza!!! I screamed in my thoughts as I hugged my knees and buried by face on then, hiding my red face.
Kagura: "Awee she's blushing."
Lucy: "Shush! You were blushing when you were with Rogue!"
I yelled as I looked up at her and pointing my finger at her body. She blushed a deep red and I quickly smacked my hand on my mouth when I realize what I just did. All the girls began to say "ooooh~" in unison while looking at her.
Kagura: "W-Was not..!"
She tried to defend back as she stuttered. Suddenly Rogue appears and taps on her shoulder. We all stay silent as our eyes widen. Kagura turns her head to see who it was and fell into silence as well when she noticed it was him. Crap....I made this awkward. I thought to myself while wondering if he over heard our conversation or not.
Rogue: "May we speak?"
Kagura: "Y-Yeah...sure."
He gently grabbed her hand and leaned over, planting a small kiss on it. I'm dead serious when I say this... everyone's face was exactly this •0•
Rogue: "Would you do me the honor of going on a date with me?"
Kagura: "R-Rogue... I can't believe you're.."
Kagura begins to say while blushing and tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. Rogue misunderstands her and turns around.
Rogue: "I understand...I'll go now..."
Kagura: "N-No!"
She yells as she grabs a piece of his clothing.
Rogue: "No?"
Kagura: "Yes!"
Rogue: "I'm confused...no or yes?"
He asks as he turns around to look back at her. This is way too adorable! I thought as I watched the love scene.
Kagura: "Yes!"
Rogue: "Yes to no?"
Kagura: "Uhhh...."
Kagura trails off as she looks around. She then grabs his collar, pulling him into a kiss.
Kagura: "Does that answer you're question?"
Rogue: "Yes."
We all started saying "awee" in unison as we saw the kiss. Suddenly I'm approached by Sting.
Lucy: "Hey."
Sting: "Hey Lucy...there's something I have to say also..."
Lucy: "What is it?"
I ask with a small smile as I tilt my head. He rubs the back of his neck and right when he was about to speak up someone starts yelling my name.
Lucy: "Huh?"
I say as I lean to my right a bit to see who it was. Just as I thought it was Natsu, I mean who else would yell my name at a hotel pool where tons of people would be staring. I let out a sigh.
Natsu: "Luce!"
Lucy: "Hm?"
He sits down on the spot next to me on my poor chair, slightly pushing Sting and I'm guessing he didn't think I'd notice.
Lucy: "What's so important Natsu? Sting was about to tell me something."
Natsu: "He can wait, I got you a present."
Sting: "..."
Sting stays quiet while folding his arms over his chest. I give him an apologetic face and mouth the word 'sorry'. I then look over at Natsu who was holding a medium sized wrapped box.
Lucy: "Why?"
Natsu: "Why not? You deserve it."
He says as he hands me the box, I was about to shake it to see if I could figure out what it was before opening it. I didn't want it to be one of Natsu's pranks. He grabs my wrist before I do so and give me the 'are you crazy' look.
Natsu: "Don't do that."
Lucy: "Fine..."
I set the box on my lap and cautiously pull off the wrapping paper. Lifting the box's top it reveal a small black and white kitten with green eyes. A pink bow was wrapped on its collar.
Lucy: "Aweee it's so adorable!"
I say in an excited tone accompanied with a gasp at the end. I picked up the small kitten and nuzzle by nose with her. Looking over at Natsu I give him a big warm smile. Everyone awed at us, everyone except the guys of course they want to seem 'manly'.
Lucy: "Where'd you get her?"
Happy: "Natsu found her-.."
Happy starts to answer my question for Natsu when suddenly Natsu elbows him and cuts him off.
Natsu: "At a pet store of course! She was alone her parents and siblings were already sold."
Lucy: "You shouldn't have wasted you'll jewels on a present for me, how much did she cost? I'll pay you back."
Natsu: "No, it was a gift!"
Lucy: "But-.."
I start to object but he cuts me off.
Natsu: "No buts."
Milliana: "Can I touch the kitty?"
Millions asks me and I nod in response with smile as I gently hand it to her. All the girls began to huddle around the kitten.
Milliana: "Nyaaa! It's so cute!"
Wendy: "K-Kawaii!!!"
Erza: "Awee I think it likes me."
Yukino: "Definitely does."
Yukino says while giggling and watching the kitten lick Erza. I then turn my gaze to Natsu to ask him a question.
Lucy: "How'd you get it pass the hotel security? No pets are allowed."
Natsu: "Well Happy isn't a pet so we said it was Happy's daughter."
Lucy: "Wow."
I say as I laugh at the thought of that.
Carla: "I don't understand how they bough that story. That kitten is too cute to be the daughter of his."
Carla states as she points at the kitten.
Happy: "It got the looks of its mother."
Carla: "And who may that be?"
She asked with an eyebrow raise.
Happy: "None other then Carla Marvel."
Happy says with a wide smile. Carla crosses her arms and turns around as she fakes a laugh.
Carla: "Ha....in your dreams."
I smile at the two funny exceeds then look over at the kitten. My smile slowly fades and turns into a frown.
Natsu: "What's wrong?"
Lucy: "I'm not sure if I can keep her."
Natsu: "Why not?"
Natsu asks me as he tilts his head.
Milliana: "If you can't have her I'll be more then glad to take her!"
Kagura: "No! You already have the guild full of cats! No more!"
Milliana: "Awe...... Never mind Lucy!"
I over hear their discussion and let out a small smile. Going back to my serious mode I look at Natsu and explain.
Lucy: "Well pets are a big responsibility it's like having a child."
Natsu: "Well if it's a child, it's our child. I'll be there to take care of it with you like a family."
O-Our child...? A family..? You and I..? I blushed at the thought of that.
Lucy: "W-What about the land lady...? She doesn't allow pets."
Natsu: "Don't worry I'll deal with her if she tries to take her away from us."
Us..? I thought to myself as my heart skipped a beat. His hand found its way towards mine and sets itself over mine. I felt butterflies in my stomach, I couldn't help it. It just happened. I knew he was most likely just acting but what I felt for him was being tested. He had no idea of how much I wish this were real. Of how much I wish there could be an 'us'.
Lucy: "Um.."
Natsu: "Anything else?"
He asks me as he raises his left eyebrow. In response I shake my head, not being able to say anything at the moment. I was too flustered to do so.
Lucy: "..."
Natsu: "Good."
He says as he leans towards me and unexpectedly lands a kiss on my cheek. My face heated up, the butterflies in my stomach were now out of control, I was a blushing mess. I slowly looked at him only to see his signature toothy grin.

Sting's P.O.V.
Okay...If Rogue could do it then I can too. I thought to myself as I walked towards Lucy. Yes Lucy Heartfilia one of the most powerful celestial spirit wizards there is. The beautiful and strong woman that I met months ago. Ever since I saw her I felt something, I didn't understand what it was at first so I treated her just like I'd treat anyone else but soon enough when I didn't see her I just had to find a way to see her again.
I sent her a letter once and to my surprise she sent one back. I then started seeing her more often, in missions and even just to meet up. For awhile we've been writing letters to each other and I'm glad to have her here. Even if it's just as friends at the moment but I was going to change that. Now was my time to confess my true feelings for Lucy Heartfilia.
Lucy: "Hey."
Sting: "Hey Lucy...there's something I have to say also..."
I say feeling a bit un confident. It was strange I never felt this way before but here's that feeling and it's all because of her.
Lucy: "What is it?"
She asked me with one of her sweet smiles. I rubbed the back of my neck, nervously as I open my mouth, ready to confess. Suddenly someone calls out her name and I knew who it was. The one that angered me the most lately. For some reason he's been taking her away from me, ruining every single moment I try to confess to her. Natsu Dragneel.
Lucy: "Huh?"
She's says as she leans to her side to look at him. I clenched my fist in anger and frustration. I was growing sick of him doing this over and over again. He slightly pushes me and sits next to her.
Lucy: "What's so important Natsu? Sting was about to tell me something."
Natsu: "He can wait, I got you a present."
Sting: "..."
I stay silent as I fold my arms over my chest. I notice an apologetic expression on her face and her mouthing the word 'sorry'. She then looks over at Natsu who was holding wrapped box in his hands.
What did I expect? Of course he was going to burst out of nowhere, he does it every time. I thought as I walked away, not wanting to see the gift. I make my way towards the snack bar and order a piña colada. Sitting on one of the bar stools I sip on my drink and think of another way to approach her.
Sting: "Maybe some flowers and chocolates? Nah...that's been used. I need something different."
I sat there for awhile thinking of something better for her but in the back of my mind there was one thing I didn't understand. I knew it was dragon mating season and we have to be with our mates but...why does Natsu try to avoid my mate and I being together? Could it be...? He thinks of her as his mate as well..? I asked in my thoughts as I shook my head.
Sting: "No...that can't be it..."
He's been with her for a long time. They're best friends, if he liked her he would've made a move already. Which means he thinks I'm trying to steal her from him and he'll end up being a third wheel. He just doesn't want to lose his best friend. Yeah, that's it. I thought as I finished my drink and got up from my seat.
Walking back to the pool area where everyone was I had a smile plastered on my face. Now thinking I understand the situation I walk over to them feeling slightly confident. That's when I saw it....his hand touching hers... I must be hallucinating..I thought as I rubbed my eyes but I was wrong. Thinking it'd all get better my thoughts were proven wrong by my vision...it got worse... He kissed her cheek...
