Anna pov:

"So what do you want to do now?" Dougie asked me as we walked out of the mall and into the busy streets of the city.

"I don't know. Wherever the yellow brick road takes us." I explained carrying many shopping bags.

Dougie shook his head and started laughing. He too was carrying numerous bags of his new clothing.

"So. I guess we can take the subway back to my place." I said looking over to him.

"Yeah that's cool. I've never been on a subway before." He says.

I chuckled. "Doug, it's the same exact thing as the tube."

"Ohhh. That makes sense. Then I've been on one before." He says seriously and I laugh.

"You're mental sometimes I swear." I say and we make our way to the closest subway station.

We walk down the stairs, with all o our shopping bags which made it hard to walk down them since there are railings.

I set down all of the bags I was carrying on the ground next to doggie and I and rummaged in my purse.

"What are yah looking for?" Dougie asks standing where he is, holding his bags by his side.

"My metro card nosey." I say informing him about something that they have in England, he's just too stupid to figure things out.

"Well. Then I was just asking." He shoots back at me in a serious tone of voice.

"And I'm just telling." I say being smart and putting my wallet away and grab the shopping bags and going up to the turnstile of the metro.

"Alright it's like the tube. Just slide the card through... It's not that hard." I say telling him talking in front of me even though he is behind me.

I swipe my card and go through. It's a bit challenging because I have all the shopping bags but I manage. I turn around and hand the card to Dougie.

He swipes it and then walks through the turnstile but its hilarious because the shopping bags got in his way.

"Having trouble there babe?" I ask laughing and trying to put my hands on my hips.

"Shut it. Why don't you!" He states finally getting through the turnstile.

He hands me my metro card and I shove it in my pocket. "I can return all of these clothes if you keep talking to me like this. I can kick you out of my apartment." I say laughing.

He just stands next to me as an old lady walks by us. "You guys are an adorable couple." She says.

We both smile and thank her. He puts his arm around me and allows me to show him what subway we need to take to get back to my apartment.

"Dougie we have to go down one more subway." I say watching him walk past me then do a U-Turn.

"Oh whoops. I didn't know." He says maneuvering through a few people with all of the bags he has. They give him shit and complain. I laugh and walk down the stairs before he can even get around the people.

"Thanks for waiting for me." He spits out as we meet up again.

"Awh! No problem!" I say playing along with his game by not being judgmental.

"Quit playing around and just tell me what tube were taking why don't you?" He asks becoming truly impatient.

"Alright alright. This is New York. Get used to it." I say sassily and walking over to the platform for a subway for my apartment.

"Just wait here until it comes. It won't take long." I say smiling over at him and trying to carry these bags.

These bags this and these bags that. That's how heavy and how many we have. I know it's ridiculous. Such a pain in the ass.

"Alright. You know I was joking with you, right?" He asks laughing.

"Yeah blondie. I figured it out. I'm actually smart even though I dropped out of school." I say as a matter of factly.

"I know you're smart. I'm just being a dick on purpose. Haha. Anyways these tubes here are slow." He points out and lifts his arms up and drops it dramatically

"Yeah they are. There's more people here than London. And they're not called tubes here. They're called subways! See look who's smarter!" I say clicking my tongue, pointing to my brain and winning my eye.

"You're not smarter than me. You're just further informed than me. I guess." He says starting off proud and confident then mumbling by the end of his statement.

"C'mon dude. Let's just get home. Alright?" I ask raising my eyebrow for more emphasis. We wait on the platform of the undergroundness for the subway.

Suddenly the subway came and it stopped in front of us so we could get on and head home. As we were getting on guess who we bumped into? Tom. He was getting off.

"Hey mate!" Dougie shouted at Tom
As he exited the subway. Dougie hasn't really spent time with them the last couple of days and he knew it. He felt bad.

Toms face instantly lit up and he smiled. "Hey guys. You finally got yourself some clothes I see." Tom says looking at the bags we were holding.

"Dougie needed to stop wearing Sarah's boyfriends clothes. Reckon he's too classy for that." I say laughing and pulling both of them in the subway.

"Come back to my apartment. We can have some lunch and then I can show you guys around." I say as I realize that Tom was probably going out to do something.

"Alright. Sounds good to me. I was just going to go wander around the city. Probably not the best idea." He says pulling a duck face and shaking his head.

"Yeah mate that's not logical." Dougie says speaking up out of silence.

We were all standing up holding as best as we could for our lives onto the poles inside the subway. Tom laughs.

"Here. Give me some bags. Looks like they're heavy." He says reaching out and taking two bags from each of us. I smile and thank him over and over for they really were heavy.

"So whatcha buy?" Tom asks Dougie as Dougie looks all around the subway acting as if it were some mystical statue. He zones out of his examination of the subway and acknowledges Tom.

"Oh some shorts, t-shirts, vans, we both got new skateboards from zumiez. I'm gonna teach Anna how to board." He explains but little does he know that I already know how to skate and have multiple skateboards at my apartment. I also forgot to mention the skateboard part before.

"Ah. Maybe I could get one soon and we can all board together in this wonderful city." Tom says waving his hands around.

"I don't disagree. Maybe we can do it after we get back and drop these off!?!" I suggest casing the boys to look at me strangely.

"What?" I ask as we are almost at our stop.

"You're going to learn skateboarding today?" Dougie asks causing Tom to laugh.

I shrug my shoulders. "Sure why not." I say, preparing to trick dougie and Tom into thinking I suck at riding a skateboard.

"Alright amateur, well see how you board." Tom says rather brotherly. I roll my eyes and he punches me.

"This is our stop fellas." I say getting off of the subway before them. The follow behind me like dogs as I make my way to the exit turnstiles and walk through as easy as pie.

They continue to follow and we have to walk at least 5 blocks to my apartment.

"Why don't they make a station closer to your house?" Dougie complains.

"Why don't they make people who complain less?" I answer him with a question. He rolls his eyes and huffs in annoyance.

"Why do they make sarcastic people?" Dougie shouts back as we all maneuver through the streets.

"Why do they allow annoying couples?" Tom asks and Dougie and I both start to laugh almost hysterically.

"Why do we have to be in front of my apartment so soon?" I ask shaking my head and walking up the steps of my building.

Tom speaks up. "Damn this place is nice."

"Hahah. You can probably afford a better place than me." I say unlocking the main door then getting in the waiting elevator.

Tom scoffs. "I doubt it. This is just the lobby too." He says admiring the walls and shit. Maybe when Dougie was looking at it the first time, it was just a guy thing, probably.

We go up in the elevator and I unlock the doors, throwing the bags on the floor, honestly not caring where they go or what harm they cause. "Home." I say stretching my arms about and turning around in a half circle to show Tom where I live.

He opens his mouth and widens his eyes. "This is where Doug has been hiding this whole time?" He asks in astonishment.

"Unfortunately." I say laughing.

"Man that's no misfortune. This place is amazing. Wow, you must work really hard." He says setting the bags down respectfully.

"Well come in why don't you. There's nothing much to do but I'm gonna go get changed for skateboarding." I say snapping my fingers and dancing up the stairs.

I walk in the closet we share, put on some galaxy/snakeskin printed vans, a "POW" sweater that had black and white polka dots on one sleeve while the torso was white and the other sleeve was blue and pink stripes.

I walk into my room into my small closet and pick out one of my many skateboards to use. I pick a yin yang one that is sort of galaxy printed.
I walk down the stairs and Tom and Dougie are standing on top of the next skateboards, seeing who can last the longest without falling.

"C'mon guys. Let's go." I say shoving like $350 and a credit cars into my back pocket for lunch, dinner and dessert. Also, a taxi if we get tired of skateboarding.

"Sure you'll be alright learning this in New York? It's kind of crowded." Dougie says raising his eyebrows. It's funny that he isn't catching on that I can skateboard.

"I'll be FINE! LETS GO!" I say fist bumping the air and holding my skateboard in my hand. The guys pick up their boards and we walk to the elevator and leave.

Once we get out onto the street, it's almost deserted because everyone hasn't gone out to lunch yet. They should be which is all the more reason why we should hurry and get lunch or wait a couple hours until the human traffic is gone.

I set my board down and let the guys start off first. I don't want to intimidate them with my awesome boarding skills. There's a lot of prevarications you take when you live in New York. You can't always spend your money on taxis and subways.

They start of easy and I inch my way along the sidewalk. Dougie keeps looking back at me, checking if I am alright, how sweet. He smiles as he looks in front of him, paying attention. After about 5 minutes I stop my antics and skateboard like I should.

I kick my foot along the pavement and let the board bring me to where I want to go. I catch up to the boys and I pass them as we are skateboarding past pedestrians who probably hate skateboarders.

"What the fuck? Did she just pass us?" Dougie asks presumably Tom as I laugh and kick my foot along the pavement and crouch down a little and let my hands sort of guide me. I turn back and stick my tongue out of my mouth at Dougie.

"I really did. You're stupid, you know that? Why else would I have a skateboard and willingly go skateboarding." I ask rolling my eyes and facing the right way so I can see where I am going.

I kick the ground many times, harder than before and I basically fly across the sidewalk. Having no real solid destination to go to. We are pretty hungry for lunch though.

"Oh. That explains why she wanted to buy a new skateboard." Dougie says looking at the skateboard Tom is riding.

"You can keep that one Tom. I don't mind. More you than me." I say talking about the skateboard that has a guitar shaped out of bones on the bottom.

Dougies just has a simple "Zoo York" logo on this bottom of his board.

"Thanks. So where are we going?" Tom asks as I let them catch up to me.

I shrug. "What are you up for?" I ask.

They both shrug. "Pizza?" They ask/tell me at the same time.

"Alright. The best pizza in New York is the $.99 slices. But there are tons of $.99 pizza places. The best one is on park and broadway. We're not actually that far away. Maybe 10 blocks. We can board there. Leggo." I say kicking the ground and leading the way as the boys catch up to me and we make our way to have as much $.99 pizza as we can.
