Family Portrait - PINK

Brielle

Terry was avoiding the whole talk to me about his mom situation. He never brought her up or said one thing about what she had done. When I tried to bring her up he changed the subject or avoided my questions all together.

I knew that he was holding it all in which wasn’t good for him. He needed to talk to me about it and get it off his chest.  I guess I would just have to wait for him to come to me.

I waited for Terry to come out of the school. I was waiting for him by his car. I watched him exit the school building with Tanya. What the hell? I knew that I couldn’t tell Terry who he could hang out with but I didn’t like him spending much time with the girl that had established the fact that she wanted to get him back.

As he got closer to the car he said something to Tanya, she smiled and they split ways. “What was that about?” I asked him.

“Nothing,”

“What do you mean nothing?” I asked him.

“It was nothing Brielle. Somebody is jealous.” He said laughing.

“I’m not jealous Terry,” I told him seriously as I got into his car. He got in right after me.

“Brielle don’t be mad.”

“I’m not mad,”

“Can I have a kiss?”

“Are you talking to me or Tanya?” He laughed

“We were just talking Brielle,”

“About what?” I questioned

“Nothing, school, life…it was just everyday talk.”

“Okay,” I replied.

“Brielle you can’t be mad.”

“I told you I wasn’t mad.” He sighed and started the car up.

“Terry I’m really not mad,” He looked at me and then his rearview to back up.

I got out of Terry’s car and began walking up to the front door. I waited for him to unlock it then followed him into the kitchen. His Dad was in there making him something to eat.

“How was school today?” he asked.

“The same,” I told him.

“Terry?” he questioned.

“Dad lets not do this.”

“Do what?” Mr. C questioned.

“Act like you didn’t choose some woman over me.”

“Terry I’m sorry,” His Dad said.

“Sorry doesn’t cut it at the moment,”

“Terry what do you want me to do,”

“Give me time,”

“Okay, I can do that. Can we at least be cordial with each other for the time being?”

“Yea sure,”

“Good! Brielle how have you been?” He asked me as I sat down at the table.

“Great and you?”

“I guess I’m living. You ready to graduate?”

“Oh God yes, I will be expecting you there with a nice present for me.” I said jokingly.

“Oh really? I’ll see what I can do.” I smiled.

“I was just kidding Mr. C.”

“I know you were,”

“You don’t have to get me anything.”

“Okay,” He said ending the conversation.  He laughed.

“Really Mr. C I---“

“I’ll see you two later,” He said walking out of the kitchen. I looked at Terry and he just laughed.

“Make sure you reinforce to you Dad that I do not want for him to get me anything.”

“I can’t change his mind. He sees you as part of the family.”

“Do you see me as part of the family?” I asked as I went up and wrapped my arms around his waist.

“Definitely, you’re my girl. I plan on keeping you around for a long time.”

“Is that so?” I asked before placing a kiss on his lips.

“Yea it is,” He said kissing me deeper.

“How long is a long time?” I asked pulling away.

“You tell me,” He said pulling my body closer towards his.

“I hope its forever because right now that’s what I want.” I admitted.

“If forever is what you want you can have it.” I smiled up at him.

“I love you,” I told him.

“I love you too babe,”

“Are you cooking us dinner tonight?” I asked

“Anything for you baby doll.” I laughed.

“Terry?”

“Yea,”

“Don’t call me baby doll.” I said slapping his ass.

“You got it B,”

 Terry

“Dude so I really need you to try to get your Dad to let you throw us a graduation party.” Jace said for the umpteenth time. We were sitting at the lunch table and he would not give up about me throwing this house party for graduation. I mean a party would be nice but I didn’t want it to be at my house. I didn’t have time for the drama, drunk people, and rude assholes.

“Jace I’m not throwing a party again.”

“Why? It was bomb.”

“Dude I got in a fight, my house was trashed and---“

“You made up with Brielle and got the goods, like I said it was bomb.” I laughed at him.

“Get your parents to leave, so you can throw one.”

“They aint budging”

“Neither is my Dad,”

“Your Dad is cool though, I’m sure you two can work something out.”

“Jace I’m not throwing a party!”

“Why you got to be like that man?”

“Dude I ain’t being like nothing.”

“Are you harassing my man?” Brielle said as she came up beside me and draped her arm around my waist.

“I’m trying to get him to throw this party.” Brielle laughed.

“You throw it,”

“That’s what I said.” I told her.

“Where’s Clary?” Brielle asked ending that conversation.

“I don’t know. I thought she would be with you.”

“Maybe she got tired of you and is getting busy with someone new.” Brielle stated.

“What?” Jace yelled snapping his head snapped in her direction. I was just as shocked as he was too.

“Chill, it was just a joke. I don’t know where she is.”

“You about got Clary’s ass beat. She knows better.” I laughed.

“You know you wasn’t going to do nothing.”

“Let it happen and see what happens next.”

“Let what happen?” Clary said sitting down at the table.

“You be creeping with some other guy.” Jace said with attitude.

“Oh please Jace, you know I would never cheat on you.”

“I know that baby. Brielle and Terry trying to tear us apart.”

“What?” Brielle and I exclaimed at the same time.

“Bullshit Jace, I didn’t say anything about you and Clary.” Brielle stated.

“Man we don’t have anything to do with your relationship.” I said. Clary laughed as she leaned her head on Jace’s  shoulder.

“I’m not going anywhere babe,” She muttered

“I know,” Jace said.

“Cocky much?” Clary questioned.

“You know it.” I laughed at the both of them as the bell rang signaling that lunch was over. I got up and grabbed my things.

“We’ll see you two later,” JAce said walking away.

“Alright man.” I followed Brielle and threw my things away at the trashcan.

“Have you heard from your mom?” She asked me.

“No,”

“Has she tried to call you?” She questioned.

“Can we not talk about this Brielle?” I just didn’t want to even think of my mom. To me she was a scheming bitch and I was still heated about her reasoning behind coming down here. I was upset, but most of all I was hurt. She acted like she actually cared, I was proud of myself for not believing her and not be naïve to her ways but it still hurt to know that the only reason she was down here was not to build a relationship with her son, but to use me.

“Terry I just…. I want…” She said fumbling with her words.

“What?” I asked.

“I just want you to be okay and I wish you would talk to me so that I knew that you were going to be okay.” She stated. I grabbed her hand pulling her closed to me.

“I’m okay Brielle,” I said looking into her eyes.

“Why do I not believe you?” I looked away.

“Terry please..”

“I talk to you later, class is about to start.” I said walking away from her.

“Terry don’t be like that,” She said grabbing my arm.

“I’m not being like anything B. I just don’t want to talk about it right now.” She looked at me for a second her eyes pleading.

“Okay,” She finally said. “I’ll see you after class okay,”

“Yea,” I said kissing her lips. “Meet me outside,”

“Okay,” She said turning around and walking away. I could tell that she was hurt about the situation, but I wasn’t up for talking about it and she would just have to wait until I felt like it.
