Chapter 28

No sooner does the hotel room door shut am I pulled against Zach, our bodies flush against one another and his arms winding around my waist tightly. The delicious scent of his cologne clouds my senses; consuming me with him.

Zach sighs contently and a shiver trails through my body upon feeling his breath fan across my cheek. There's barely any distance between us, if not none, thus allowing me to feel the thumping of his heart against my chest.

I'm still in disbelief.

He's nervous, because of me.

His lips brush against my ear, as lightly as a feather would; sensually whispering "I missed you."

I find myself wanting to wrap my arms around him, tell him how I missed him too, and give into the wave of intense emotions sweeping over me- but I stop myself. I never like to come across as too eager, otherwise I tend to lose control. Call me stubborn, but instead, my hands stay flatly pressed against Zach's chest.

I call it suspenseful. He's going to have to try a little harder.

The sun must have set pretty quickly since I last thought to look, or perhaps I'm just unaware of my surroundings, but either way, the room is consumed with darkness. The only light is that of the remnants of the sunset, filtering in through the curtains that I didn't fully open this morning before leaving. I was running late, as per usual.

"What a creep, dragging girls into dark, hotel rooms." Zach scoffs at my teasing jibe. In the darkness of the room, I can just about make out his features, his usual boyish smirk adorning his expression.

He pulls my body impossibly closer to his, sealing any vestige of space there was left between us.

"What a creep, inviting creeps into dark, hotel rooms." Zach's mimicking causes a small smile to crack on to my lips in amusement.

"Okay, you got me."

"Yeah, I got you. Finally." The double entendre of his words is as clear as day. "Side note, I decided to swing by your scene on set today, just to see how you were doing. I now have a problem with Oli." I laugh.

"Jealous?" He glares at me, giving me a squeeze around the waist where his arms are still locked and causing an embarrassing squeal to be heard from yours truly.

Time to wind him up further.

It just wouldn't be us if I didn't.

I bring my lips to Zach's ear, letting them ever-so-slightly brush against his skin, and feeling Zach's body tense against mine.

"Don't worry, he only touched my butt once." As soon as I whisper the teasing words, Zach's hand delivers a swift slap to said location. I gasp, my eyes widening with part surprise, part anticipation.

"Such a bad girl, Sel." Zach's voice is low and causes a flickering of several inappropriate images to surface in my mind, with other less PG situations that such words could be said.

"And I know exactly what you're now thinking." My eyes shoot to his. Zach looks determined. "First Nate and then Oli...I'm done playing nice."

At the mention of Nate I feel an unpleasant feeling muster within me, yet this is only for a brief moment, as Zach lowers his head in a matter of seconds and his lips crash down against mine.

My eyes flutter shut almost immediately from the sheer force of the contact. For a second or two I remain still, fully adjusting to the blissful intensity of the kiss. Upon finally registering that this is finally happening, my body jumps into action, throwing my arms around Zach's neck and pressing myself tightly against him.

Zach's lips are just as lusciously soft as they always look, moving against my own in perfect unison. The taste of mint on him serves to create a fusion of the coolness that mint carries to the hotness of the kiss. I find myself engulfed by Zach, his lips, his scent- everything. We fight for dominance, our kisses frantic and careless. Zach's straying hands add fuel to the raging fire within me, setting me alight as his right hand runs down my bare back, from my bralette to my butt, inflicting a prolonged squeeze to it and releasing a muffled moan from within me. This seems to encourage him further. The kisses have a strong element of lust and hungriness to them, only serving to make the situation more intense and allowing us to experience what we've both wanted for so long.

Zach's hot tongue then teasingly runs along my lower lip, coaxing my lips apart with his own and swiftly slipping his tongue past them. It feels as though a burst of fireworks set off within me as our tongues meet, causing me to tighten my arms around his neck as both our tongues and lips move against one another harmoniously; warm and passionate. The idea of sharing saliva is not usually a pleasant one, but in this moment, I couldn't care less. Especially with the low moans I'm hearing escape from Zach lips.

Effortlessly, both of Zach's hands sweep under my knees, lifting me up off the ground in one swift move and pressing me up against the cold wall behind; my legs wrap around his waist instantly. My fingers go on to lightly trail down Zach's cheek, then hook around the back of his neck before I tangle them in his soft hair. The action itself drives Zach crazy, his lips pressing even harder against my own; no doubt the both of us having swollen lips by the end of this.

I don't want this to end, though.

Faintly, I hear the sound of knocking, or something from somewhere, but I dismiss it as Zach murmurs my name against my lips, the both of us gasping for breath as all coherent thoughts vanish into thin air. I'm swept into a vortex of unknown feeling that I wasn't even aware could be produced so easily. The sheer power of the moment serves to baffle me. Kisses don't usually have this much of an effect on me, afterall. The strained groan Zach makes as I tug on the hair at the back of his head causes heat to pool between my legs, fueling the need for more. More of this.

Suddenly, a loud thudding noise on the door next to us causes us both to metaphorically crash down from the pleasurable ignorance we'd adopted only moments before. I am still pressed up against the wall, my arms securely around Zach's neck and his hands still under my thighs as he holds me up against him. Yet, the loud thudding noise appears again and we reluctantly break our lips away from one another- knowing our time is up, for now. Zach rests his forehead against mine, the both of us out of breath yet unable to pull away. The lack of times we were willing to break ourselves apart from the tantalising kisses and come up for air could explain that.

I take a minute to glance behind Zach and at our surroundings- an attempt to retain sufficient orientation. The room may be mostly dark, however the faint lights of the city trickling in through the semi-opened curtains allow Zach and I to still see one another; to see the dazed states we're both now entrapped in.

The loud thudding at the door then becomes more persistent, more urgent. Just my luck.

Zach lowers me to the ground and releases my legs from his grasp. The loss of contact causes coolness to wash over me- a hot mess. The two of us are just about managing to get our breaths back too, yet the desire isn't ebbing away so easily.

I want to say something to him, anything, just to see how he feels; so he knows how I feel. Yet, the sounds at the door are now causing me alarm and I should probably tend to it first.

Who is at the hotel to see me at this time of night, anyway?

I avert my eyes from Zach's in order to get some focus back, and then briskly move to unlock the door. However, Zach's hand reaches out and halts me in my tracks. I turn my head a little to look at him. The sight before me is truly breathtaking. Zach. His lips swollen and his hair sticking up in different directions from where my fingers ran through it. He doesn't seem to care that I messed up his hair though.

"Just so you're aware, I'm not letting you go after that."

The promise in his husky words is evident. Sincere. Possessive. Determined. And, as I turn back to unlock the hotel door, I can't help but smile to myself.

I guess I am sort of glad that I invited this particular (not-so-much of a) creep into my dark, hotel room.
