rose
will
fall
out
of
the
sky
and
land
by
your
feet,
but
will
you
pick
it
up?
it's
hard
to
say
because
love
is
a
mystery
that
lasts
for
days
and
perhaps
you'll
pick
it
up,
only
to
throw
it
away
or
maybe
you'll
step
on
it
and
continue
on
your
way.
it
does
not
matter
for,
in
the
end,
the
rose
lost
all
of
its
petals
and
you
lost
nothing
more
than
a
love
that
you
never
knew
of.

i want to talk to you. i want to see us connect in a way that helps me to see that our bonds of friendship still exist somewhere, somehow.

i want to ask you how you've been, what you've been doing, and if something is new. i want to be able to be your friend.

but i'm too cowardly to do so because i know that only short phrases will be uttered and nothing will have changed.
