As the title suggests, this is a VERY short excerpt of the first chapter I will be posting in May. It will make more sense if you have read the Updates I posted to fill in the blanks. This is a conversation between Kya and Ben.
There was a brief silence before either spoke. "I'm sorry we had to do this, Ben."
"How long have they been planning it?"
"Planning what?"
"To send me away. To get rid of me." The last words were uttered with such bitterness...such hate.
Kya stared at the boy. "Ben. They aren't trying to get rid of you."
"Then why are they making me go with you?"
"To protect you."
"From what?"
Kya paused, determining how to reply. "From what you may become."
