“JAKE!!!!
What’s going on? Are you okay? Is He okay? Where’s Andy? Where’s Izzy?”
“ROSE!! CALM DOWN!!!” Jake screamed in my face. I took a few shallow breathes and felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked to see Grayson.
I looked at Jake.
“You okay now?” I nodded. “Okay. Ashley had a little tumble, which turned into an all out fall, and well he got scratched up pretty badly. He’s getting stitches and he’s going to be not able to go on tour for the first half. But he’s okay, alright? He’s gonna be fine” he pulled me into a hug. I didn’t even know tears were falling out of my eyes.
“Rosey!!”
I saw Sandra running toward me. She engulfed me into a hug. “He’s going to be fine baby doll! Why you cryin?”
“I’m fine. Emotional overload I guess. Can I see him?”
“In a little bit, Andy is in there because He’s the closet thing Ashley has to a brother, so they said he was family.”
Just then I saw a head of black hair running toward me. Andy.
“Oh babe. Shh, don’t cry.” I hugged his chest, and started sobbing. I don’t even know why. I guess it was because this whole time, I’d thought I lost ash. It scared me. These were happy tears.
After what seemed like forever, the doctor let me see Ashley. I walked in and stopped. There he sat, in the bed, looking so peaceful.
“Andy, maybe we should give her a minute?” I heard Sandra say behind me.
I heard Andy sigh and close the door. I walked over to Ashley and grabbed his hand. I started tearing again. I leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek. I got into the bed and lay next to him, hearing him breath in and out. Before I knew it I fell asleep too.
“Sweetie, wake up.” I heard a soft voice say. I lifted my head and saw Ashley smiling at me. I inhaled and looked around.
“What time is it?”
“About four a.m. You’ve been sleeping for awhile. Andy came in to check on you, but you were still sleeping. He’s coming back with some Starbucks for you.”
I smiled. I knew I picked a keeper. A boy who knows when to get me Starbucks. I love him.
“I’m so happy you are okay. You scared me.”
I hugged him, and he winced. “Oh, I’m so sorry! I forgot!” he smiled “It’s okay. It’s the good kind of pain”
I yawned and looked him up and down. He had stitches on his face and a bandage on his nose. He looked so funny. I started laughing. “What’s so funny Rosey?”
“Hehe you look so funny Ash! Come here” I pulled him into another hug.
“Here we are. One health Smoothie for the cripple and One Chai latte, with a kick of red bull and a snickers for the lady” Andy says walking into the room, holding a bag of goodies and a drink cart from Starbucks.
“Eww, a chai latte with red bull?”
“It’s the breakfast of Champions!” I said with a grin on my face. We all laugh and then Sandra walked in holding her car keys. She plopped down on the bed in front of my feet. “Do you know how long it took to find a Starbucks that opens this early? Forever! And then Andy insisted on stopping to get you and Ashley real food. Which consists of Snickers, Potato chips, Red bull, Oreos, and god knows what else unhealthy.”
I laughed. “Thank you guys! You are so sweet!”
I kissed Sandra’s cheek and then went over to Andy, who had his arms out stretched. He wrapped me in his arms, breathing in my scent as I breathed in his. “I should drive you back to Grayson’s. Or if you want you can stay with me?”
I looked at him. “Yeah, I’d like that. I’m so tired. Ashley, baby, do you think you’ll be good without me for a good, four hours until I come back. I have to get some sleep.”
He smiled and nodded.
We and Andy walked hand and hand to his car in the parking lot.
“SO... I heard you’re back in town. Can I come and see you?”
“Scout, not now. I have someone over.”
“Is that someone a female?”
“Yes. Now if you don’t mind I have to let her sleep. She’s had a rough couple of days.”
“So, I don’t care about your whore! I’m coming over. See you soon baby doll”
“Shit.”
I turned over in Andy’s bed and looked at him. He was looking at me. I had heard. And I knew. Scout. One of Andy’s ex girlfriends. Sandra told me about her.
“So, I guess I should leave. I mean I should go check on Ashley. I’ll leave you to Scout. You did love her right? And she broke your heart, but wants you back? Just like Alison.”
“Yeah, pretty much. Sandra?”
“Yeah, she told me yesterday.”
“My question is, Why me? Why can’t they forget me?”
“Andy, you’re a lot to loose. I don’t know what I would do if I lost you.”
He pulled me into his arms. He kissed my cheek and said “There is no way, I’m letting that happen. You will never lose me. I’ll always be there for you, even when I’m not there.”
I kissed him and then Jake walked in.
“Oh, man I’m sorry! It’s just that, Scout’s at the door.” “Shit, um Rose? It’s your call. Suffer the wrath of Scout or figure a plan.”
“Plan! Um… Jake!!! I need you!”
“Yeah?”
“Um, where’s Isabelle for the next ten minutes?” “At the mall with Sandra. They are buying things for Ashley. They left like two minutes ago. They’ll be gone four hours tops knowing Isabelle”
“Perfect! Can I be your girlfriend for like two minutes, so we can get passed Scout?”
“Um, I guess. Is this going to my job to tell Izzy?” “No I’ll do it. It will sound better from me.” He nodded.
“Okay, I’m opening the door, now!”
Jake pulled the door open to revile a 5’8, curly brown haired, green eyed chick. As much as I hate to say it, she was beautiful.
“Hey Jakey! Missed you!” he threw her arms around him and squeezed him. Remembering I was his girlfriend for the next five minutes, I cleared my throat. She looked over at me with a baby face. That face turned curious as she looked me up and down.
“Who are you?”
“Rose, Jake’s girlfriend. And you are?”
She giggled a little, “Oh, Jakey you didn’t tell me you settled for hoes. I would have called my friend for you to date instead.”
Hoe? Had she looked in the mirror today? Huh, that’s a hoe for ya.
She came and jumped on the couch next to me, and said “I’m Scout! I’m Andy’s girlfriend. Hehehe”
It took all my strength but I did not slap her. Or do something that I would probably get sued for.
Just when I was about to kill that bitch, Andy came into the room. And that bitch practically threw herself onto Andy. Jake came and held me down, so I didn’t kill her.
“Um, Andy. Me and Rose are going to the store. You need anything?”
“Maybe some slut repellent.” I said under my breathe
Jake elbowed me in my side. “Ouch” “Sorry.”
“Um, yeah, maybe some Chunky peanut butter, York peppermint patties and some twizzlers.”
“But you hate Twizzlers”
“No I don’t” Scout was to preoccupied looking at me, so she didn’t see Andy mouth ‘Cut it out!’ to Jake.
“Oh, maybe it was CC who doesn’t like twizzlers. Come on Rose, let’s go”
He grabbed my hand and pulled me out the door, I turned and saw Andy mouth ‘I love you’ to me. I hope by the end of the day, he still does.
