I woke up, dazed and almost had a heart attack from waking up in an unfamiliar room. I sighed in relief, clutching my lurching heart when I remembered I had fallen asleep in Aaron's bed. The memories from the conversation and events came to mind and I felt the mortification fill me.

I had kissed him against my better judgment. The drinks I had taken from the tray had made me act without inhibition and I had become a carefree person for once, not plagued by anxiety or dark thoughts.

I looked at the time and let out a noise at the time. It was a school day and I was already running late. In fear of messing up my early streak, I jumped out the bed and looked toward the sofa. Sure enough, Aaron was lying down on the sofa on his stomach, his face practically submerged in the pillow.

I laughed inwardly at him, but cursed again realising that he was also going to get late and, regardless of if he cared or not, education  was important.

I quickly made my way to his bathroom and did my toothbrush with the spare brush that was surprisingly still in the pot as well as having a wash. I didn't have anything else to wear, so I put the wrinkly dress back on from yesterday before walking back out and drying my hair with a towel.

I walked up to the sofa and nudged Aaron's bare back tepidly. He groaned a little bit, but didn't wake up. I rolled my eyes and slapped him upside the head, laughing quietly at the sound it made.

"Aaron! Get up, we're going to be late" I sung out in his ear purposefully, laughing loudly this time when he groaned again and turned around to sleep on his back, putting the pillow on his face.

"Aaron, come on, you said you'd drop me home. I need my books" I reminded him, but no answer.

"Fine" I muttered, jumping up and landing all my weight on his stomach.
"Try falling asleep with 100 pounds of fat on you" I continued, trying to put all my weight on him. He opened his eyes, looking around sleepily before his baby blue eyes landed on me. He smirked slightly and put a large hand on my back, making me shiver.

"Sorry, Lexi, but we have school. So, whatever you're thinking about right now is not an option" he teased, looking at me in mock sadness.

I rolled my eyes. Obviously, he would say something dirty about the position we were in. I put on a mock sad face before sighing deeply.

"Aw! And, why can't it be an option? Besides, with you, I suppose we'd be finished in 5 seconds flat" I countered, trying to get up.

Aaron gripped my hips tightly, so I couldn't go and smiled, impressed at my words.

"Impressive, but wrong. if you want to challenge me, however, you can always put me to the test" he said, pulling me closer until I was lying on top of him, our bodies pressed together.

I was about to answer, but was cut off by the sound of a door opening. I turned around to see Sam looking at us, a look of shock and fear on her face.

"I am so sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt you.. I'll.. sorry!" She all but screamed, covering her face with her hands.

"We were not-" I started, but was cut off by Sam.

"I'm really sorry. I came here to say breakfast is ready" she said before wheeling her way out the door and shutting it.

I hit Aaron and tried to get up, but he had a death grip on my hips.

"Why did you do that? Why didn't you tell her we weren't doing anything?" I asked, giving him a murderous glare.

He looked at me blankly.

"I'm sorry, I just didn't want her interrupting our '5 second session' he said flatly, sarcasm dripping from his tone. A slight smirk was forming at his lips.

I gasped and hit his chest again.

"You did that to get back at what I said to you? What would your mum think of me now?" I responded, covering my face at the embarrassment I felt.

I heard a laugh and peeked out my arms to find Aaron looking at me in amusement.
"Are you always this dramatic?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow.

I huffed and folded my arms across my chest. This made him laugh, the grip on my hips loosening. I took this as an opportunity to get up. I stood up and grabbed a pillow and slapped it in Aaron's face, who was still laughing.

"We need to go school" I reminded him dutifully. I stopped hitting him when a sudden thought dawned on me and I looked around frantically.
"What clothes am I going to wear?" I asked.

He stopped and a look of thought crossed his face. He got up, stretching slightly which made his muscles flexing before walking into his closet. I waited for a moment, half expecting him to exit with a hoodie and his large shorts. It was surprising when he came out with a casual red dress.

"Wear this" he ordered, throwing it to me and getting his own clothes from his closet.

What was this doing in his closet?

"I like your taste, Walker, but red doesn't match your skin tone" I mused, holding the dress up to his body.

He smiled slightly, pushing the dress away from him.

"It's not mine. It's..my mums" he said turning around and walking out the door.

This couldn't be his mums. His mum wasn't the same size as me. These clothes were about my size meaning they were clothes for a girl my age.

The question was who?

When I finished changing, I made my way to the kitchen. Aaron was already there, changed and showered, devouring pancakes and I wandered if anything else made up his diet. If humans were 70% water then Aaron was 70% pancake batter.

I laughed inwardly and made my way to sit next to him. His mum put some pancakes in my plate and smiled. I smiled back at her, but blushed remembering what she had thought she had seen in the morning. I turned around to see Aaron had finished his pancakes. He got up from his seat.

"I'll wait for you in the car" he said before kissing me on the cheek and making his way to the door.

I carried on eating my pancakes, but looked up when I felt eyes on me. Sure enough, Sam was sending me a knowing glance.

"So, how is everything? Are you guys happy?" She squealed, excitement twinkling in her eyes.

I wanted to tell her the actual truth because she deserved it, but I didn't want to deflate her good mood, so instead I smiled slightly.

"I guess you'll have to figure it out yourself" I said ambiguously, not wanting to tell her whether we were happy or not.
She squealed loudly and hugged me tightly. I hugged back.

I wonder how much time Sam had left. Did she have more or less time than me? I felt sorry for her. I could tell how she feels because it was how I felt every second day of my life. I held back the tears and pulled back. I never cry.

"See you." I said, giving her one last hug before making my way to the car.

When I reached it, I threw my bag into the backseat and sat down in the passenger seat. We didn't talk the whole car ride. He just drove and I just looked out the window. When we reached school, he got out and came to my side, opening the door for me and entwined our hands.

We walked to my locker together.

"What class do you have?" Aaron questioned, hugging me from behind, nuzzling his head into my neck.

It's funny how we could be so intimate in front of people as a facade and be so silent and awkward when it was just the two of us like in the car ride. We must be pretty good actors.

"Biology" I answered, grabbing the books I needed and holding them with all my strength. Aaron pulled back from the hug and laughed, grabbing my books.

"What are you doing?" I questioned.

"Carrying my girlfriends books" He said in a 'duh' tone, making his way to my classroom door.

I smiled at him and stopped walking when we reached the door which was open meaning everyone was staring at us.

"Well, bye" I muttered. In return, he rolled his eyes and made his way to the only desk that was vacant and put my books on it. It was more of a routine now to let him walk me up all the way. I smiled at this 'gentlemen' act and made my way towards the desk. All eyes were on us now. He hugged me, his warmth engulfing me.

"Bye" I whispered. He pulled back and smiled before kissing me on the cheek and walking away, talking to the other people in the classroom on the way to the door.

I sat down and the boring lesson started.

"Hey, Alexis" someone said. I turned around to come face to face with the black haired, green-eyed girl from yesterday at the lunch table. Aaron had told me her name when I asked and my eyes lit up as I remembered.

"Hey, Raven right?" I said smiling timidly. She scooted closer to me and nodded before planting her books with a thump on the table right next to with a unclassy grunt. She sat down, crossing her legs as she sat and I looked to the biology teacher who was busy speaking to the teaching assistant, not even checking if we were doing the worksheets that they had placed on our desks.

"So, was the party any good? I couldn't come because my idiot of a brother had something called a 'graduation'." she said, a joking tone to her voice and I laughed slightly as she marvelled the band stickers I had on my notebook.

"Well, I'm glad you have your priorities straight." I teased to which she nodded, picking up my notebook and eyeing it.

"Yep, that's me, the one who's got her shit together." She said with a small smirk before focusing back on the book.

"You like 1975?" She asked simply and I nodded, my eyes lighting up at the mention of them.

"Like is an understatement. I love them." I answered to which Raven nodded, leaning back.

"I've seen them about 4 times now." She mentioned and I gaped in awe. Had I been focused more on living my life then maybe I would have some of these experiences too.

"I could only wish." I grumbled out and Raven let out a small laugh.

"Well, next time, we can go together. Maybe stay a few nights near the show and drop by some clubs." She suggested coyly and I stilled at the invitation, feeling a slight warmth in me at the prospect of someone wanting to spend time with me.

We were both acting as if we knew each other and I knew we would be great friends. I felt a warmth run through me as I had never had a friend before and it was nice to have the company.

I smiled kindly before nodding.
"Sounds good." I said before grimacing as the nodding brought about the headache further. Raven raised an eyebrow at this and I smiled sheepishly.

"Sorry, I am sporting a major hangover headache right now." I apologised meekly and I watched as Raven notably blanked, blinking slowly as she processed my words.

"Wait, you were drunk?" She asked, a confused look on her face.

My eyebrows furrowed at her line of questioning.
"Yes, I was drunk" I clarified.

At this, her frown lines deepened.
"You were drunk and Aaron didn't get angry at you?" She questioned, confusion and shock in her tone.

That's what I had questioned Aaron on yesterday! Why did he get so angry about that?

I leaned in closer and she dipped closer as I spoke to her in a small whisper.
"Yes, he did, but can you tell me why?" I pleaded.

She hesitated, deciding whether she should tell me or not.
"Please" I added simply, my voice a small whisper.

She stopped hesitating and sighed, looking around to check if anyone was listening.
"I guess" she muttered, hesitantly. She then came closer, and pulled me down harshly.

"I don't know if he's ever mentioned the name, but Aaron used to have a girlfriend called Avalon." She began and I listened in at the odd prospect of Aaron being in a committed relationship. I listened intently as she spoke again, a sad look in her eyes.

"He was so different before when he was with her. He loved her so much and I think she brought out the best in him." She explained, her gestures exaggerated and I nodded my head as she raced through the story.

I don't know why, but my heart dropped slightly when I heard that he loved someone, but I carried on listening.
"One day, there was this party at Danny's house. Aaron was with his us all and Avalon was with some other friends. Maybe if she was with him, she wouldn't have done what she did." She said

"What did she do?" I questioned, wanting to hear the answer.

Raven sighed and moved closer.
"Aaron caught her sleeping with a guy. She blamed it on being drunk, but it broke him. He loved her so much and when he saw them together, you should've seen him Alexis. It was horrible."

My heart shattered at the thought of Aaron no longer being his arrogant and cocky self. I couldn't imagine him like that. I turned towards Raven, curiosity, of what happened next, dripping from my voice.

"What did he do?"

She stared out the window a little while longer before turning back to me.
"He broke up with her and beat the guy up. Turns out, the guy wasn't drunk, so he knew he was sleeping with Aaron's girlfriend"

I gasped. How did I not know this happened. It was, as Danny said, like I was a new girl to the school. Or, maybe I never got too invested into the social side of school to learn the drama and it wasn't as though I could hear the drama from anyone else.

"Then?" I asked, shocked. Raven sat back a little, more relaxed with me.

"The girl transferred schools out of sadness and the boy left the school, afraid he'd get beaten up by Aaron again. After that, Aaron stopped believing in love. He just had a relationship for sex and didn't try to form a bond with the girls" she said sadly.

Wow. No wonder, he got angry when I was drunk. I looked down at my clothes. They were definitely not his moms. So they belonged to..
