You aimlessly walked the store, not there for really anything in particular. Your eye was caught by the paintings that were used for wall decoration and you stopped to look. It was a picture that was taken of New York before the battle with Loki and the Avengers. A common disagreement that happened in New York lately was the Avengers. You were 100% on the side of the Avengers, they were protecting us and Loki made the mess, not them. Caught up in thought at first you didn't notice the man that was next to you suddenly.
"Hey baby." The voice snapped you out of thought and you looked up. The man that stood before you was dirty. His teeth permanently stained a deep yellow color and close to falling out because of rotting. His clothes consisted of a white, tight tank top, very very baggy jeans, dirt gym shoes and a long silver chain. His hair, what was left, was greasy and unwashed. Overall, he was disgusting.
"Uh hi."
"You fall from heaven baby?" He smirked.
"Uh no."
"C'mon show me some love! I'm complimenting you. You lesbian or something?" He acted offended that you didn't fall from heaven and weren't kissing his feet.
"Um no, I have a husband though." You said quickly. The fact that you didn't actually have a boyfriend, much less a husband was irrelevant in your mind in this situation.
"I don't see a boy." He laughed, coming closer.
"Just leave me alone." You said trying to walk away. He gruffly gabbed your arm and pulled you back.
"Why would I do that?" He snickered. You got free and jogged to the next aisle. You saw a tall, built guy about your age and you walked over to him. He looked in your direction when you got close to him.
"Hi, you don't know me, but could you pretend to be my spouse real quick?" You pleaded. He looked past you, saw the guy, and nodded. Without second thought he wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you very close to him. He was looking at the plastic fruits - you had no clue why but went with it - and you picked up the plastic grapes.
"Could you fit these in your mouth?" Your mind just said the first thing that ran through it. You regretted what you said but thank god your savior went with it.
"No, I will not stick it in my mouth in the middle of the damn store so you can get a picture so stop asking!" He replied laughing. He shook his head at you, grabbed the fake grapes, and kissed your cheek.
"But babe!" You giggled.
"I'm not going to doll, I'm sorry." He laughed. "Oh is this the guy that was following you?" He directed his attention back to the creepy guy you talked to before.
"Yo man, I didn't mean to hit on your bitch, but she's so sexy I just wanted to hit that." He smirked, eyeing you up and down. The unknown savior pulled you even closer and a bit behind him for protection.
"Don't talk about my wife like that. She is a person and I specially don't appreciate you talking about her like a piece of meat." The man said. The creepy guy walked even closer, which only infuriated your 'husband' even more. "You take one more step I will hit you into next week." He reached down and rolled up his left sleeve, revealing a metal arm that you hadn't noticed until now.
"Okay man, whatever." The creepy guy threw his hands in the air and walked out of the aisle. Your 'husband' turned to look you in the eyes.
"Hey are you okay? That guy didn't do anything before you came to me right?" He looked around for possible injuries and you laughed lightly.
"No I'm okay. Slightly objectified but physically okay. Thank you so much. My name is y/n." You put your hand out for him to shake. Once he's sure your body is okay he shakes your hand.
"I'm James- no, I'm Bucky." He stuttered.
"Well it's lovely to meet you Bucky. Thank you for getting him away from me." He rolled his sleeve back down, hiding the bionic arm once again.
"No problem. Women deserve respect." He says looking up from the ground.
"The least I could do is buy you coffee for saving me like that." You offered. In reality you though Bucky was very attractive and didn't want to say goodbye yet.
"Yeah I'd like that." He smiles.
"Even though seeing you with grapes in your mouth would be funny too." You joke. You both began walking towards the coffee shop next door.
"Maybe on our next date, wife."
