"Hi, Mr. Alsina" Koko's assistant Emily greeted me as I approached the front desk of her office.
"How you doing Emily?" I asked placing my hands on the counter too and she smiled
"I'm good, how are you?" She asked as I looked around the office to see if I could see him.
"I'm cool" I answered looking back at Emily
"That's good, how's Autumn feeling. She texted me this morning saying she wasn't coming in she didn't feel to well." She informed me and furrowed my eyebrows but soon fixed my face
"She good, but Emily is Jussie in today?" I asked her and she nodded
"Yes sir, he's in a meeting he should be in out in about 10 mins, you want to wait in his office?" She asked and I nodded
"Yea that's cool" I said following her to his office.
I sat down in one of the chairs in front of his desk. Since everything went down the other night I've ignored Koko, she was over at the house earlier talking to Trav and he was trying to get me to speak to her but I just ignored her presence.
I love that girl so much it's unbelievable, but my head is fighting with my heart. Although I know the kiss wasn't her fault I couldn't help think about her kissing another nigga and that shit fucking with me. I don't want her kissing no other nigga the way she kiss me or pleasing another nigga the way she please me.
Knowing today was our 1 year anniversary and how I've treated her these past 2 days was killing me. I wanted to see her and tell her that I was sorry for ignoring her and I wanted to move past this but my pride had kept me from doing so.
A door opened interrupted my thoughts and I knew it was Jussie "Mr. Alsina, how you doing today?" He asked walking in and over to the other side of his desk.
"Cut the bullshit bruh, sit down lemme holla at you" I said irritated nodding for him to sit and he did as I held my pointer finger against my thumb as I eyed him.
"Ian gone come in hea and act like I like you cuz I don't, and the ONLY reason I ain't come in hea and beat yo ass is because this is my ol' lady's place of business and I respect her too much.
I hate niggas like you who prey on nice respectful women and use that as a weakness against them. You knew your boss had a man, nigga you met me so why you continued to pursue her I don't know.
But lemme tell you this, Yung ain't the one. Don't fuck with mines cuz I'll fuck you up, so whatever the fuck you feeling for my lady lose it.
Cuz if she come home telling me some shit you done did fuck all this talkin bullshit I'm findin you my nigga and I'm beatin yo ass and Ima show you a how a real New Awlins nigga get the fuck down. Don't play bout me and mines and that's a fact you better fuckin ask about me nigga." I stood up leaning over his desk getting in his face pointing my finger at him while I spoke never raising my voice but mugging the shit out him.
The look on his face was priceless tho, he looked at me like he wanted to piss on himself "So I done gave you fair warning, if I have to come in here again I'm battin the fuckin piss outchu ya heard me. Now that's all I got to say bout that, enjoy ya fucking day bum ass nigga" I stood up straight knocking his cup of coffee over as I left out.
I said bye to Emily before leaving her office and went to handle some things.
Koko POV
"So he broke up with you cuz some nigga you work with kissed you and you told him immediately after it happened?"
Dom asked as she laid on the other side of the my bed looking at me while we drank some wine and whined to her about my problems.
"Yeeeeessss Dom.... He was mad as hell when I told him, he got his stuff, told me he was done and he left. I haven't spoken to him 2 days.
I went over to his house this morning because Travis called me over there to talk. I said hello to August and he completely ignored me then Trav tried to get him to speak to me and he just continued to do what he was doing like I wasn't there and we weren't saying anything." I whined laying my head in her lap after sitting my glass on my dresser.
"Don't tell lamp shade this, but I love Aug like a brother and he loves you so this just doesn't seem like him. It's you guys 1 year anniversary and I would hope he wouldn't do you like this. I think you're over reacting so relax he might be upset but he loves you too much to let you go over this." She rubbed her hands through my hair as I sighed nodding my head
"Maybe you're right" I mumbled looking at my phone. It was going on 6 o'clock and Aug still hadn't called or texted me telling me happy anniversary.
Dom and I continued to talk when I got a text "Who is that?" She asked smirking
"August... Why you smiling like that?" I looked at her and she shook her head
"No reason...I just knew he would come around." She said hesitantly and I looked at her suspiciously but brushed it off and unlocked my phone to read the text.

"What he say boo?" Dom asked anxiously tapping my shoulder
"To get dressed cause T will be here at 8 to get me" I said shocked honesty.
"Well what you waiting on? Go get ready!" She shooed me off of her lap
"Does he really expect me to go out with him after how he's treated me these past 2 days" I furrowed my eyebrows contemplating whether or not I wanted to go with him.
"Maybe he wants to take you out to apologize, just here him out aight" she said as I got out of the bed sat my phone on the dresser
"Okay, but where are you going you have to help me pick out something" I asked as she got of my bed also and started putting her shoes on.
"Now you know yo slaying ass don't need me for that, and my man wants me to come home and put it on him." She dropped it low and brought it back up twerking
"Eww...goodbye... I can't, that's nasty. I don't want to think of Sneak like that" I pretended to throw up as she laughed
"Girl hush, the way you and August be at it, you can't say nun about nobody" she pointed her finger at me making me laugh and shrug.
"You right" I smirked at her and she just shook her head.
"Bye boo, I'll see you later. Let me know how it all goes okay" she walked up to me hugging me and I nodded my head
"Of course, love you girl..... LOCK MY DOOR" I said as she left out of room and down the hall
"Love you too" she yelled before I heard my front door open and close.
I pulled my hair in a high bun and grabbed my phone from the dresser heading towards my bathroom.
I connected my phone to my bluetooth shower speakers and started getting ready.
By the time I finished my hair, I received another text from August

I laughed and shook head cutting off the lights in my bathroom and went to put my shoes on in my room. I grabbed my purse, phone, and keys on my way to the front door.
Sure enough as soon as I opened the door T was standing their with this elegant black box full of black roses from Venus Et Fleur.
"For you courtesy of Yung" he held the box out in his hands and I grabbed them from him smiling.
"Thank you T, how are you today?" I asked as he opened the back door to the truck for me.
"I'm good, Koko." He answered closing the door and walking around to the driver side door getting in.
"How are you? You look good Lady goon" he smiled at me in the rear view putting the car in reverse and backing out of my driveway.
"I'm okay, I can't complain and thank you." I smiled sitting the box of roses next to me on the seat.
I sat back enjoying the music T had turned on as we cruised down the highway, I felt my eyes getting heavy causing me to sigh "How much longer T?" I asked yawning and covering my mouth
"Bout 45 minutes" he responded and I nodded "Might as well take a quick nap" I mumbled laying my head back against the headrest.
The ride was pretty long and I got a decent nap before I felt T tapping my shoulder and calling my name "Hmmm?" I asked with my eyes still closed a little disoriented
"Wake up, we're here" He smiled at me and my eyes fluttered open to see where we were... At the studio.
"T the studio is 20 mins from our house what took so long to get here?" I chuckled questioning and he
just shrugged shaking his head "Just following Yung's orders" He said helping me out of the truck and I looked at myself in the mirror on my phone case to check my face.
"What are we waiting on?" I asked looking around
"Nun, go on in" he nodded his head towards the door and I looked at him before heading towards it and letting myself in.
"Oh my God" I looked around the dimly lit lobby at all of the black and red roses and candles that decorated the area.
I walked in further approaching the front desk where there was a note:
"You're probably wondering why you were driving around so long, but a nigga had to do this shit all by himself. But I hope you like what you see so far, head down the hallway to Studio B for me ma."

"He really went all out huh" I whispered to myself looking at the path of candles and pedals lining the floor going down the hallway to Studio B.
"Aug?" I called out opening the door peeping around the door into the dim room before fully walking in.
I didn't get an answer but I noticed a note sitting the producers chair so I walked over to it picking it up and reading it.
You follow directions lmao. Sign into the computer, you know the password. The file should already be open... Press play and sit down baby.
I did as the letter told me to and soon I started to hear my good friend, Darrel Walls's, Cover of Mine by Beyonce play softly in through the speakers.
"Autumn MaShae Ray" I heard Aug's voice come fill the room catching me off guard.
"Man that girl means the world to me. When I think about her, nothin but good things come to mind, and pun unintended with this song I'm honored that I can call her mine's. She's the sweetest, most caring, honestly real, and genuine person I've ever met. Baybeh, I know you listening to this so let me stop speaking in third person." He chuckled as I sat back in the chair and crossed my legs laughing with him.
"A year ago today, I asked you to give me a chance. A chance to make you happy, a chance to show you that all men aren't the same, a chance to show you your true value and worth, a chance to be your protector, a chance to be your provider, a chance to be your confidant, a chance to be your lover, a chance to show you the definition of a real man, a chance to love you the way you deserve to be loved, a chance to treat and respect you like the queen you are, a chance to not only be your man but your best friend.
You put your trust in me after I let you down and you gave me that chance. We started off a little rocky and had some rough patches and petty arguments, all couples do but since that day you have made me the happiest I think I've ever been in my entire life. When I met you I wasn't looking for an ol' lady or any type of serious relationship but there something about you that I was intrigued by. A simple trip to Memphis for a show resulted in me meeting my best friend and the love of my life.
Thank you for being apart of my life, the impact you've made is beyond significant. You changed my life forever and you've changed it for the better. You love me though my flaws, insecurities, my past, my stubbornness, my pettiness, my attitude, and the fame can be a bit much but you never complain. You honestly make me a better person and I know if Mel was here he'd love you and tell you how thankful he is for you being apart of my life and helping me change my ways. You never condemn me but you stay on my ass and make sure I'm on the right path."
At this point I was trying my hardest to hold back the tears, to say I was baffled at his words would be an understatement.
"Take a minute to look at the video I just sent you babe" his voice commanded just as soon as a text came through on my phone. I opened it and started to watch the video.
It was a video full of pictures and videos of August and I over the past year.
"When I think of Autumn Ray, I think of your characteristics, you character ma speaks volumes to everyone you come across. You're beyond humble, gifted musically, honest, you have integrity, you're God fearing, and you show love to everyone. This is the acronym I came up with for you.
Ambitous, your love and loyalty is Unwaivering, Trustworthy, Uplifting, Motivating, Nurturing, Respectful and respectable, Accomplished, and Yes." My eyes were watering and I trying to keep from ruining my makeup as I sat in the chair listening to him speak about his thoughts and feelings towards me but I didn't quite understand what the yes meant.
"Cut the volume up and go in the booth and sit at the piano." He said and I stood up walking into the booth doing as told.
"Oh gosh" I covered my mouth as I seen one of my favorite singers JP Cooper and a great poet named Alysia standing at the mics.
JP started to play and that's when I saw August walking in all black looking amazing.
August walked over to me and I stood up hugging him "You look beautiful" he complimented
"Thanks baby, you look good too" I said as we turned to listen to Jp sing. "Listen to the words carefully." August whispered in my ear with his hands on my waist.
A tear slowly cascaded it's way down my cheek as Jp sang the words
"And so I knew the only reason God gave me eyes was to see you, the only reason God gave me ears was to hear your voice say I'm in love, I'm in love with you."
"I wrote this song" August said and I turned around looking at him shocked and I saw that he removed his glasses.
"And I meant every word, baybeh these last 2 days have really given me time to think and reflect on my life and I realized that I don't want to live it without you in it. You're my heart, and without you I can't function or live. I know you would never do anything to hurt me, and just the thought of someone else kissing you drove me crazy. I know what Jussie did wasn't your fault and I'm sorry for the way I reacted and how I've treated you. But I realized that you're mines and I don't want anyone else.
That acronym explains everything I think about you you're Ambitous, your love and loyalty is Unwaivering, Trustworthy and talented, Uplifting, Motivating, Nurturing, Respectful and respectable, Accomplished." He looked at me in the eyes and I saw nothing but pure love.
"And lastly Yes" he spoke and I looked at him funny with my head turned to the side as Alysia did he poem.
"Yes what babe, what does that mean?" I asked as he he grabbed my hands letting me sit down at the piano. I did so and he knelt down in front of me on one knee, putting his hand in his and pulling out a black box.
"What are you doing?" I asked anxiously feeling myself on the verge of tears.
"It means you say Yes. Yes to continuing to be my heart, yes to being my best friend forever, yes to being my life long partner and mines for eternity, yes to you becoming my wife, yes to becoming Mrs. Alsina....Yes to continuing to love me unconditionally and me doing the same to you." He held the box in his hands looking up at me with tears brimming his eyelids.
He opened the box and my heart skipped a beat looking at the ring.
"Auugg" I broke down and covered my face with my hands laying my head in my lap.
I felt him kiss my head and rub my back as I cried. I couldn't believe what was happening, I was looking at the man of my dreams, who had become my best friend and the love of my life down on his knee proposing to me. I never thought I'd find somebody to love me the way I needed to be loved but I found that in Aug and he shows me that love and so much more. He's an amazing man, and he makes me so happy.
I lifted my head looking at him and he grabbed my left hand "Autumn MaShae Ray, will you say yes? To all of that baybeh?" He asked and I looked at him for a second before realizing he made me the happiest, and marrying him would only add to that. Shaking my head yes as tears streamed down my face I said
"Yes August yessss" I smirked as he smiled and slid the gorgeous diamond on my ring finger.
He looked back up at me and he had tears rolling down his face "I love you ma" He said as he grabbed my face on both sides pecking my lips.
"I love you too babe" I smiled against his lips as he pecked mine repeatedly.
August POV
"Baybeh why you so quiet?" I asked Koko as I drove us to dinner. I grabbed her left hand brought it up to my mouth kissing it and admiring how nice the ring I picked look on her hand.
"I don't know, just kind of shocked and overwhelmed. I can't believe we're engaged and getting married." She shrugged and looked at me as I turned my attention back to the road.
"Well believe it ma, cause it's happening and you like the ring?" I smirked and she leaned over and kissed my cheek.
"I love it baby, you outdid yourself. It's stunning, and it looks great on my hand. When did you get it?" She laid her head on my shoulder looking at it.
"Don't worry bout all that but I'm glad you love it." I pulled into the restaurant parking lot and parked. I looked at her and she smiled and kissed me.
"C'mon let's go in here, a young nigga starving." I opened my door and got out then went to her side opening her door.
We walked in holding hands and I told the hostess our reservation name.
"Why is it so dark in here baby, I know they gone cut some lights on. Where are the people? Why is it so empty" Koko questioned holding my hand gripping it tight and getting closer to me.
"Calm down ma, yea the gone cut some lights on" I chuckled continuing to walk pulling her with me.
The lights cut on and both of our families stood there before us yelling Happy Anniversary!
"Dammit August" Koko jumped and turned into my chest hiding her face.
Everyone laughed as did I as she wrapped her arms around me hugging me.
"I been killing it with the surprises lately haven't I" I rubbed her back as she looked up at me and I pecked her lips
"Yea you have" she smiled shaking her head and then turning around.
"Hey everybody" she greeted everyone and they said hey back.
"Thank you all for coming, I really didn't expect this. I didn't expect a lot that happened today, and you guys won't expect this." She smiled and I smirked at her as she grabbed my hand.
"What!" Everyone yelled out anxious to hear
"I's getting married, I's getting married" she held her left hand up and everyone went crazy and bombarded us with questions and hugs.
"Oh my God.... My baby getting married! Jesus look at this damn ring" Her mama hugged her and kissed all over her face
"I'm proud of you son, I told you, you was gone marry her" My mama came up to me and hugged me
"Thanks ma, and yea you did. I couldn't imagine myself with anyone else" I smiled and my mama started crying
"Mel would be so proud, you're becoming an amazing young man" she kissed my cheek and I nodded feeling myself get emotional at the mention of my brother's name.
"August, you got my baby girl smiling so hard her face gone be stuck. I appreciate you asking me for my blessing. And that rock she got on her finger, nice job son. Take care of my baby man, I'm happy for y'all" Koko's pops dapped me up and I chuckled
"I will, and thanks man." I smiled as Koko walked up to me after speaking to everyone.
"You deserve special treatment tonight after all this" she whispered biting her lip and I furrowed my eyebrows smirking.
"For real? Let's get this dinner over, so I can get you home." I pecked her lips and we sat down, ate, and talked with our family and friends.
"Dom! You knew didn't you. That's why you was taking up for August today" Koko asked Dom who was sitting next to Sneak on the other side of the table.
"Shhh, I did not take up for him. But yea I knew" Dom rolled her eyes and Koko laughed as did I
"Yes you did, Aug she said she love you like a brother" Koko looked at me and I looked at Dom
"Stop lying Koko, no I didn't" Dom argued and everyone laughed
"Aww Dom it's okay, I preciate that. You like my lil sis, I knew you loved me." I got up and hugged her
"Get off me fool" she laughed as I kissed her cheek.
"She know she love me y'all" I commented before sitting back down next to my baby.
Couple hours later....
"Ahhhhh.... Oooh...A-august" Koko moaned as I filled her hitting her spot repeatedly.
"Damn you feel good baybeh" I groaned putting my face in her neck kissing, sucking, and biting.
"Ughhh shiiitt... Auuug fuck r-right...right there" she clawed at my back wrapping her legs around my waist.

"I can't wait to take your last name either, Autumn Alsina. Got a nice ring to it" she kissed my chest then pecked my lips.
I brought her face up to mines and kissed her deeply, she pulled back and looked at me smirking.
"You're so beautiful baybeh" I kissed her lips again
"You aight" she smiled widely and I stale faced her 😑. "I'm playing baby, you're beautiful too" she laughed laying back down on my chest looking up at me.
We just stared in each other's eyes and in that moment I realized that making the decision to spend the rest of my life with this woman was the right one.
"I love you phat" I kissed her nose then her forehead as she yawned and her eyes slowly started to close
"I love you too slim" she mumbled drifting off to sleep.
I stayed up a while watching her sleep peacefully, I'm in love. Me, Yung, August Anthony Alsina Jr. of all people has fallen in love... And I'm unashamed to say it. I, August, am in love with the preacher's daughter.
